2019 a year of equality

January 01 2019

Was just thinking its probably a pipe dream, but what if all single men and women, couples and LGBT comminity lost all their respective heiracy, prejudices and self entitlements, learnt the actual meaning of the phrase Mutual Respect and treated everyone on a level playing field. Personally i think we're more looking at 2029 for that at least. At least start Trying. - Posted from rhpmobile

Australia has come a long way in equality over recent years. Notably same sex marriage. It was a milestone for human rights in Australia. Likewise society has moved in the acceptance of those that did not fit the traditional mold that are encompassed in the LGBT umbrella. I first presented to the world as a transgender more than 40 years ago. I've seen the difference first hand. Today l can go out as Annie and feel safe and respected in most parts of Australia. True, not everywhere. Country areas are a challenge and even some suburbs of the major cities. But then that's not a situation exclusive to LGBT persons. Different race and classes may face certain challenges as well. Prejudice being part of the quest for equality. That quest for equality and respect will advance further during 2019 no doubt. We have come a long way, still a ways to go no doubt. But it will never be perfect because we as humans are not perfect. I do think that certain areas of society are more advanced in that zone. I find the BDSM community for instance are very accepting of all and their kinks. To a lesser extent but not to be brushed aside, the swinging communities of RHP and AMM make me feel as a trans, respected and accepted. I feel happy to be part of life in 2019. It's not perfect and never expect it to be but compared to 40 years ago sister, embrace it and enjoy. Happy New Year to all Annie xx
