A big Fuck You to Shittyrail - *Excuse my french

September 16 2013

About two weeks ago - I lost my license whilst taking out my reasonably new bike for a joy ride.A couple whom I had been in contact for quite a while, but had not yet met wanted to meet tonight. They lived an hour and a half away by train. It was the guys birthday - and I also really wanted to finally meet them, so I decided to take the train.Big mistake.I got to Central Station with enough time to get to my destination at least 15 minutes early. But surprise, surprise - the train was running 45 mins late. Then train then proceeded to break down for 30 mins. And then to top things off the trains windscreen wipers broke (excellent engineering) - and the train was forced to travel at a restricted speed (close to jogging speed) for the remainder of the trip.Anyway to cut a long/fustrating story short - I had to cancel the meeting, and spent the next 3 hours getting home, due to track maintenance and bad weather. After leaving my house at 6pm, I returned at 1am (the current time). *sadness*Anyway... I have a couple questions for you guys,* Have you ever experienced everything going wrong for you - on your way to meeting someone?* Do you hate Shittyrail as much I do?(if the couple that I was meant to see tonight see this - once again truly sorry, and I hope you still enjoyed your birthday)

Being without a license myself for the last two years and for a further twelve months, long trips can be tiresome and frustrating to say the least. Public transport in australia could learn from tokyo. That being said, fortunately the rail system in perth is quite good so we don't usually experience quite what you described..- Posted from rhpmobile

My son broke his arm and I was With him in hospital for the evening. Thankfully the cancellation was well received although that may have been due to the PA breaking in and really just confirming I was at the hospital. I would like to think the other would have been just as understanding without the PA, but I suspect it helped a bit :)

Well....you can't hate city rail too much....they didn't lose your licence, you did. I was supposed to catch up with a friend earlier this year. Until my job took me to every place but where I wanted to be. I'm just lucky she was a very understanding woman. - Posted from rhpmobile

And must say, my only real gripe is the track work on the weekends. A few months back I went to visit a hot man in a different state. I had planned to be at the airport with an hour to spare, but arrived only minutes before they closed the gate. Bad start, but happy ending.
