The FOMO part of me is very curious to find out how the rest of the expo days/events went and what people's experience was. Below is our review of the night with a bit of tongue-in-cheek. --------- We had originally bought the all weekend pass thinking that we could do it all. But after a late night party a few weeks prior we had to face reality and admit that we are no longer as young as we once were and just don't recover from late nights like we used to. So we changed our tickets to the Friday night & kink cruise event instead to give ourselves two whole days to recover before the work week started. We arrived at the jetty with another couple. Pretty much straight away we were told off by a guy who said we weren't dressed 'kinky' enough which started the night on a bad note for us (didn't see any condition about clothes requirement for entry on eventbrite description). We were allowed in by the nice door lady though. The 4 of us were served a generous portion of disapproving vibes and glares from the 'not kinky enough' dude through the whole cruise eventhough there were several other attendees in 'normal' clothing as well. Ironically, someone also decided that the most suitable kinky musical accompaniment for the cruise was pop hits from the 90s, ranging from the likes of Venga Boys to the Hansons, yes, of 'Mmmmbop' fame. Fortunately thanks to intoxicants and the rest of the attendees being nice people, our group still had a good time and was even amused by the 4 hours of audio 'torture' 😉. Everyone else dressed according to kink code did not seem to notice the musical selection though and it just goes to show how hardcore the Perth kink scene is. After the cruise ended, I was personally most disappointed that none of the male strip clubs participated in the Friday night event. The most exciting part of the night for me was when the bartender on the cruise took his shirt off (surprised that straight up nudity was not allowed on the kink cruise). We only managed to go to Voodoo lounge to watch some strippers after the cruise and then went home due to being tired (feeling our age). In hindsight, I wish I had known about which venues we're participating sooner (found out only after the event that it was posted on FB which we hadn't known) so that we could do a bit more research and planned better. I would also probably have chosen to attend the Saturday event instead (because of Hollywood's show 😜) and made a point of checking out Akademi.
