There was a rumour that some dating sites were being researched by a well known university as part of a larger study into human behaviour. This made some people panic about their identity being uncovered and so the rider at the bottom of the page became quite popular. I don't know if the study ever took place but I can find no trace of it or any results on the net.Personally, if they ever do decide to do a study on here I would be happy for them to use my profile for research only.

Quoting 'Krissy_G' Discalmer "Please dont take anything I say in the forums as verbatim. My mood in how I respond can be dictated for a number of reasons. But mainly due to three either horny bitchy or fuck it those words will do. Oh as I can Ill had a fourth. If I feel strongly about a subject." Like it.Can I spank that gorgeous butt?

Dont mean a thing and it does amuse me when I see them. Honestly how are you to know if your information provided on this site or any other site is used for research anyway? It is not as if you have provided name, full address and date of birth or any other relevant particulars. They may use what I have written all they like...after all...there is only my word that it is correct!

I frequent a number of scale modelling forums, and one of the topics that comes up a lot is copyright, and more particularly, violations relating to the use of photos posted in the various threads. Anything original work, be it written or photographic is automatically protected by copyright, however, once it's posted on the interwebs, and in the public domain, it is very easy for somebody to come along and pinch your work. Most people on the aforementioned forums have no problem if you want to copy their work for personal use, such as research, but get a tad snaky when their work is taken and used for commercial purposes.Whilst many countries have similar copyright laws, acting on those laws is a very difficult and costly process, so most people end up "sucking it up".In terms of this site, I'd be kinda ticked off if my photos were used without permission, but if somebody wants to borrow bits of my profile, well, have at it.I think the threats to sue are more an attempt to dissuade unauthorised use rather than having any real substance.

I think the threats to sue are more an attempt to dissuade unauthorised use rather than having any real substance. If you have something that you dont want known then the easiest thing is not to say anything. Those people your talking about RC shouldnt feel bitter its their own fault. Dealing specifically with photographs, the ones I see are taken for the purpose of sharing amongst fellow modelling geeks, and as such, the photographers have a desire to share their work. If I save a photo to my computer for my own reference, there is no issue - that's what they're there for. If I try to pass that same picture off as my own work, either to sell the photo, or as advertising for a particular product, that's when the original photographers get snaky....and rightly so. Most photographers these days will put some kind of watermark on the photo to make it more difficult to "steal", but I have seen pictures crop up in unexpected places. They have a right to feel bitter, but at the same time, they are very much aware of the risks they take publishing their work on the web.

when you post to a site like this....which is in the public domain, you run the very real risk of your photos ending up somewhere they shouldnt be. while RHP may swear black and blue that it doesnt happen, we feel we must assume otherwise. we've already been through the experience of finding our pics posted to a site we'd never seen, and have even had pics emailed to us and shared on MSN, that were in fact our pics in the first place. the 'disclaimer' means nothing, unless you can back up and challenge a complaint in the courts....a long, dramatic and hugely expensive procedure.......nobody wants to touch 'intellectual copyright' suits......if your identity can be proven by whats copied and shared elswhere, you may have the smallest glimmer of a chance of satisfaction...but the reality is that once you post your pic, its no longer really yours........... the disclaimer covers also information gleaned from your profile, for the purposes of research...again, nothing you can do about it. universities do research on these topics, and their research is more comprehensivley protected than any one persons privacy here. there is nothing anybody can do to stop a student, a researcher, or even an entire department from scoping and scanning who is doing what, where and why..........the information is freely available......the key point anyone will look at is whether or not you can be postively identified, and in doing so, suffer some disadvantage as a direct result...........

I d o not mind if my work is out there on the net. Though I do not have a web page. When I take pictures of people for here, I do about 60 shots, and then go sit on the lap top and delete those the client does not want. I then put it in a thumb drive for them and delete off my lap top and my camera. I only keep a few that I have permission from the client to use as promotional material. What they do with their pictures is their own business. For those that I have as models for my art, they know its going to go into a painting so I own what happen. Art models do not pay me. Other personal photographs I get paid, only to do the shoot, they get the end product. As for my artworks, then yes I have control over my paintings and what happens to them but I do not follow that up I figure they went to a good home, and that’s the end of it. Stuff I want to use as in I make coasters of some of my work, I keep the originals at home. Not up on the net, unless I put work on something like red bubble and then anyone can make what ever they like from it. I would be cross if someone took a picture of another person and said it was them. I have a problem with fake or old pictures of a person on the net. Its sad and it wastes peoples time.

About 8 years ago A psych student thought it would be good to do a study based on these type of sites, it was not this one btw, I do not want to get thread closed by mentioning another site. Anyhow she got busted by a couple of people it all came out and a couple where one of them was a lawyer put the warning on there profile just to cover everything. Anyhow another person handled it differently approached the University as they do have rules oon how studies are to be done and this person managed to ignore them, so in the end it did not turn out to good for them. Personally does not worry me. B

The other thing we read ....a invasion of our privacy. We think ....why post a profile and photos then. Interesting we had a reason for ringing the privacy commision, documents were being withheld from us due to privacy laws!.....lol The commision advised us that the restrictions on privacy due to the act only covered companies with a turnover over 3 million. We then demanded and got those documents. So those privacy threats are wasted space as well, unless the offender is a company turning over 3 mill plus!

The disclaimers have been there since we have been on and off these sites since around 03 or 04. I can understand people being precious about there own info and image. We are too. This is Their lives on here, it's not as anonymous as one thinks. Everything that happens on the net has a footprint if you look hard enough and all the disclaimers are essentially asking for is privacy. we understand and respect that and if anything it leads us to believe these people are somewhat discrete. Now some of the other stuff that goes in profiles...... Well....... One of our fav games is going thru really old accounts and laughing at some of the stuff people write. It becomes vey apparent ad to why these accounts are no longer in use but it still gives us a good chuckle. Stuff like 'must enjoy 4wd and camping" "if you don't have our hobbies dont contact us" and other assorted strangeness. They say it's all in the eye of the beholder.....But we recommend spending an hour looking through dead profiles as laughter is good for the soul. Haven't done it on this site yet though...

Sadly all the pictures people put on these sites can be easily copied, cut and pasted in to any other site on the net.. You kind of have to run the risk of people you may know seeing your pictures and personal information, but dont wory to much there on the site looking for the same type of thing.

we've had ours copied and posted elsewhere, and found that it was all but impossible to have them removed. it took me months of harassing emails and empty threats to eventually have them deleted and an apology sent to us. small hollow victory, but something at least.... there is no protection other than perserverence...........watermarking pics helps, but only to a small degree..........

ok may be i am nitpicking. I understand what members want to mean but consider this..many profile will not tell what they mean by quality...considering it means so many things to different PPL...very much like many profile will say looking for like minded PPL...but won't share what is in their mind...lol.. Now even if u remove fakes and get 10 times more picky then us....unless u want a new playmates every wknd..you will never run out of quality...you will run out of time needed to find out quality...there is enough quality.. quality and quantity are NOT exclusive...quantity and Time are...

are very soon parted. You're on a site like this for very specific, personal and individual reasons. What you put into the ether - ie: interwebs - stays in the ether forever. The internet is like the universe. Always expanding, faster & faster. Difference being, nothing atrophies. Your profile, your pics will always be there, somewhere.
