Earlier but, as I've never seen the clip it is parodying, I can't compare it. I thought it was very clever but, if I had kids, I wouldn't want them watching it.

Google... Robin Thicke - Blurred Lines to check out his song. It's still on Youtube... and I can only find uncut versions of it immediately available on the net. There are a couple of other parodies as well lol, they haven't been banned either.

And I personally see no problem with the parody version. I fail to understand how this is any more offensive than the original. If anything it is an extremely well done adaptation with a good message behind it. Hopefully the powers that be will reconsider their decision to ban it on youtube.

I have seen the American parody as well and that is good too. I think the fact that youtube removed it, though have now admitted they made an error, is a clear indication of prevailing double standards for women and men. I am one of those people who gets damned annoyed at the sexualisation of girls and women. I think it is unhealthy for girls and young women to be constantly getting the message they are sex objects and they have to be beautiful to be worthy of a man's attention. And I think its even unhealthier for boys and young men because they end up objectifying women and developing a sense of entitlement about sex. If we are ever going to stop violence against women and sexual assault we need to promote equality, which does not include images of women as sex objects. Girls need to learn assertive femininity and boys need to learn positive masculinity. Imagine a world of empowered women and men making decisions that are founded in true respect for the other. It would put an end to male privilege.

Are you speaking for all women there? because a lot of the women I know and have known in the past seem to love being and being seen as sex objects . Ive known strippers , sex workers ,even women who do porn for trike pratrol. They all seem to love there jobs a lot ! And I mean a lot !!! lol . Maybe some women like yourself don't like being sexually objectified ,but you should maybe consider that there are a lot of women who do like to be seen as sex objects. That's why they dress slutty , behave in slutty ways and fuck a lot. I have nothing against women who openly enjoy being sexual deviants and promiscuous . Us guys do it all the time ,why cant women do the same? I guess youre against porn as well? Some of our friends do a lot of porn and I have to say they love there job and there are thousands of strong minded , intelligent, independent women out there that work in the adult industry and guess what? They love it! Theres nothing evil about sex in my mind . Weve being doing the deed for all kinds of reasons other than procreation ,for thousands of years now , its about time we accepted it as part of human life lol That's my opinion anyway.

And NO, I wasn't speaking for all women. I clearly said I am ONE of the people (note I said people as there are plenty of men who oppose the sexualisation of girls and objectification of women) who is annoyed by it. There is nothing evil about sex in my mind either, however there is something evil about the sexual exploitation of young girls, such as in sexual slavery and trafficking. Would that happen if everyone made decisions that are founded in true respect for the other? Sex work is NOT a choice for everyone. When an ADULT makes the choice to be a sex worker, or a porn star or to fuck whomever she wants, whenever she wants, that is her business. I consider myself a sex positive feminist, which means I respect women's choices about their sexual expression. That doesn't mean I can't express an opinion about the systemic and global issues that impact women's true equality, now and into the future.

and you would not have a problem with your daughter appearing in such a clip? While I am sure there are many women and men who enjoy their careers in the sex industry and for whom it is an absolute choice, there are many for whom it is not.Sexual slavery is a huge issue in this country and of course overseas....great postsWildSongs

Hey Mado, it's a shame you can't see the clip, it really is very clever. I did have a look at 'The Big Bad Wolf', very funny stuff!.I'm with you Subgal, it is good to see the decision by Youtube to ban the clip has been reversed, thanks I think to the strong supoort it received..LOL DG, I like both of the clips but the message in Thicke's version about blurring the lines between consensual and non-consensual sex is very scary..Your posts are beautiful work Wild, well thought out and beautifully expressed, thank you so much (lovin' the twist on your profile name). I love your balanced approach and what you say makes sense to me. What a wonderful world it would be. <3 .Mr Goldcoast, speaking for myself, sex can be a wonderful thing for physical and mental health... I used to work as a see-thru barmaid because of need and I didn't like being viewed as simply a sex-object, there's more to me than that and I think putting my identity all in one box would be denying the rest of me. Looking at women as sex-objects ignores that there is far more to women than that in my mind. .Freya, I watched a movie called 'The Whistleblower about female trafficking not so long ago. It's based on a true story and starred Rachel Wiese. I'll copy and paste the write-up from IMBd, it's... A drama based on the experiences of Kathryn Bolkovac, a Nebraska cop who served as a peacekeeper in post-war Bosnia and outed the U.N. for covering up a sex scandal. ... It was heartbreaking to watch and to think it was those the people (men and women, even if only by ignoring what was going on) the women were supposed to be able to trust who put them through hell.

Quoting 'Freya77' and you would not have a problem with your daughter appearing in such a clip? Nope.... and heres why.1. she's 10 lol2. if she were 18+, and SHE CHOSE to dance topless as an adult in a music video for a so-so artist.....she would make such a choice of her own volition, as I am teaching her to do in life as her parent and role model..... and would support her choice. 3. If she looked that damn good, and was comfortable with herself.... hey.... all power to her, becasue THAT is the modern version of feminism... like it or not.DG

One bit that makes me laugh in Thicke's unrated clip, and makes me wonder how he would do on RHP is the where he announces in helium letters that 'Robin Thicke has a big dick'. I can't imagine him being anything but eaten alive on here.
