When choosing ropes you should make sure you choose the right ropes. For me I have a collection of ropes but the main thing I look for are ropes that will not cause unnecessary rope burns or discomfort. Have a good safe cutter for the just in case scenario you need to get someone out of the ropes. I have a specific type that will slice thru the ropes fast but is designed for safety. Think about the type of bondage you are wanting to do, I practice Shibari partly because I lie the ascetics of it but decide what you are after. Start simple, you do not want to be indecisive with what you are doing, and it is nice if you have someone you can practice ideas on. Always remember to check on the person you have restrained to ensure you are not restricting blood flow to a dangerous level. Have fun. There are some very talented rope artists on this site so hopefully you get some good pointers. Bryan

And I have a huge bag of old studded belts etc I picked up from a good Sammy's, and heaps of old pantyhose/stockings which are great for restraining, they stretch and you can tie them together to give extra length, and they don't hurt or damage the skin mmm all I need is someone to put them to good use 😘😏

One of my favorites also....I started tiring my own breast, but still have so much more to learn. Great advice cbdlivin, you just need to find yourself a rope bunny and have fun with it....💋

Try attending some rope classes and events. There are quite a few around Perth.

take what length you think you'll use, and double or triple it, rope is relatively inexpensive per meter anyway. Practice some knots and things on yourself and you'll see how quickly the rope gets used up, especially if you're doing lots of turns around limbs so that it holds fast without digging in.

Boy scouts also teaches to serve others, teamwork, how to face fear, farts are flammable (just thought i'd throw that one in), how to identify edible things 😛 lol All useful skills for the future 😁😯

There are some excellent tutorials on youtube for Shibari rope play. I prefer Shibari as there are good techniques that are very comfortable even for suspension. Bryan is 100% right in that you must keep a safe style of cutter handy. The popular fetlife site has some experts that do workshops for others on rope play which are excellent social and learning gatherings. - Posted from rhpmobile

Quoting 'cbdlivin' the main thing I look for are ropes that will not cause unnecessary rope burns or discomfort. I have very minimal experience with bondage but I was tied up during one session with a guy who was into it. He had some amazing rope, not sure what it was made of but I think it was rope specifically made for bondage. I absolutely loved the feel of it. Probably not cheap but it would be worth it if it was something you indulged in regularly.

I'm certainly no expert so i went looking for advice. I found this site which has some great knots that are able to restrain. I guess my prerogative was finding knots which are able to restrain without causing any severe bruising or rope burn. I found the Prusik Head knot perfect for ankles and the Wrap and Cinch Double Column perfect for wrists. When the time came to remove the rope the Wrap and Cinch Double Column is extremely quick to get off because you just loosen 2 - 3 wraps and the hand can pull through the loops. Also handy if your sub falls back to the safe word. Don't forget a safe word!

Forgot to mention, use cotton rope not nylon or anything rough. Enjoy!

We use hemp shibari rope. It can be a bit messy when it's new with lots of little fibres coming off it, but once it's broken in it works a treat. Kitty loves the smell and feel of its slightly rough texture.

I have my own dungeon however don't do the ropes much as I am moreinto spreader bars / cross / bench.Suggest silk rope or thick 12 mil rope from Bunning's but no marine rope as thatdoes damage the skin. Many are into submission as I hire out the dungeon every Friday so you willfind play partners but remember always respect and stop if they need to.

Good rope for bondage is not cheap and I have a good collection of nice rope and probably over $1000 spent easily on it.

Quoting 'Lovinit28' One of my favorites also....I started tiring my own breast, but still have so much more to learn. Great advice cbdlivin, you just need to find yourself a rope bunny and have fun with it....💋 You appear to have the right equipment for good breast bondage....A good 10 meter length of rope should do the trick though doing it yourself, would be pretty hard to tie it up around your back

Just one thing I work with a variety of lengths of ropes from 2m to 30 m and sometimes longer it depends on what you are doing. Though I find 10 m is a very practical length, amazing how fast you use it up.
