Broken Rules

Have you ever set out rules for yourself and then broken them? What were the rules and what made you throw caution to the wind and break them?   When I first ventured into chat sites, I had decided that this was going to be a fantasy type of social outlet for me and I was never going to meet anyone in person who I chat to on the net. I set out a really long list of rules, and I broke every single one of them (some of them are really ridiculous and I was very naive back then).   Here is my list of rules:   Never:   Give my real age Put a picture of myself Add anyone from a chat site to msn Give out my phone email address Give out my phone number Talk to them verbally on the phone Cam with them (including cybersex) Discuss my children with them Give out my real name Disclose anything about myself where I could be identified   So, just to be on the safe side, I joined a UK based chat site. I ended up in a relationship with a guy who lived in England.   Looking back now, I think I probably had a lot of trust issues and have since realised that those words on a screen are put there by a person who has feelings, just like me, and not necessarily a psychopath. Just someone looking for a little fun and a way to pass some time with a social outlet.

    Lovely thread Wiccan.My rules are:- No playing at home- No playing while I have my kids- No playing with attached people- Always play safe- A friend has to know where I am when meeting someone from hereSo far, I've broken 2 of these rules.

    I started off with the following rules:   1. Never play with anyone closer to my Mothers age than my own 2. Never play with people who have children (still a bit of a deal breaker but not so much so)   Well I broke number 1 quite easily (and I am glad I did) Im still playing with the one I broke that rule for and he really opened my eyes to a more mature man and the fun I can have with them.   Parents are still a bit of a no go zone for me (have to be pretty special for me to break this one) but thats a personal choice and my dislike of childen in general.   Kisses Focus

    Setting rules is like setting yourself a challenge or a boundary but, at some point, you will always find yourself at that step and how you proceed is every person's own perogative.   Like the author of this post, I have broken many rules and every one of her rules too (apart from not having kids, though).   As far as breaking all rules, though, I will wait and face that hurdle whose hurdles when they come.   richo1968

    I never made a rule that wasn't just begging to be broken....so now I have only two that never have been...yet 1 the timing must be right 2 and so must the inclination..

    Never broken any rules, but that's probably because I have none.I'm a big believer in winging it according to the situation.I hate lists as well....lol....Cheers Felonious

    One rule only : always meet in public first for a date.... Found this out the hard way, and not gonna break that rule again!

    I did not have any rules when I started with RHP. I was new in Australia and they said the guys are hot so why not give it a shot? I gave my real name and age, put a picture of myself, gave out my phone and email address, talked to them verbally on the phone. I don't have children nor I am big into cybersex.Just fuck safely and go. Never fall in love. But I did. It failed. Lessons learned. Oh well.

    I just set down rough guidelines, some I stick to some I don't depends on the situation.   I do however: 1. Chat first (til I am sure or feel comfortable with the person that I have a fair idea of them)   2. Meet first - if not sure then have another meet, I do not exchange personal informal like phone number or address until I am absolutely sure he is ok.   3. Then go with the flow.

    For years I had the rule about not playing with an attached man. . . . . had a relationship with one that went on for a couple of yearsAlways let someone know when I am meeting someone from RHP. . . . . . .yes well that went by the wayside a LONG time agoAlways meet in a public place first . . . . . not always consistent with that one

    Hi! Wiccan_B :) Thanks as always for your interesting Topic.. 1.I stated that 1st Meet is for Chill Chat Get to know eachother in Person No Sex at this time... Generally I keep this Rule but On occassion because of our Chemistry together... I've not broken it but just forgot about it this time.. Yeh! Right he!he! We've enjoyed some really Hot Sizzling Sex or Sensual Sexual Intimacy as in the Case Last Night..It was really Nice Chat, little Flirting.. Dinner out Together..     We have never had a big list of rules for RHP Probably the most important rule to us is not letting our children know what we get up too! We like to have a safety word

So I have ten locks on my doors and you could not pry open the windows, they were painted shut Boy did you cry like a baby when my brother bubba jumped out of that cupboard, you nearly got free of your hand cuffs.     Diwata 3 and 4? I know you aren't going to tell.. but, I am waaay to curious for my own good :)   Yep... I have broken my own rules.. and paid dearly for them too :)   But, I am a glutton for punishment... I have gotton through a lot of hard years learning a lot of hard lessons... OH. University of hard knocks... What a hell of a good teaching facility!!   Graduation only comes with Death :)   caveman

    Yes wiccane I have to have rules or I'd spend all day chatting to delicious men that I'm never likely to meet: 1. Never play at home 2. Don't play with attached guys (selfish reasons not moralistic) 3. Only chat with local guys 4. Don't mix work and pleasure Yep, I've broken all of them . Best laid plans huh? Minxy x

Did the test as soon as I could and have learnt my lesson. No more flipping.

    had sex with a friend, which I swore I never would do (idiot).   We discussed it because she was putting the weights on me and stupidly I gave in. She said she'd be cool with it (but she had a hidden agenda) and it ended in tears... and now I lost a friend (idiot)

Diwata, your rules are the same as mine. I have more rules, but they generally require me not to fall for someone I meet on a site predominantly for NSA catch ups. I met a man much older than me on a different site and broke all my rules with him... Way to go, end up wanting someone I cant have... great job idiot! haha   I haven't really met anyone in my state who I want to play with, there are a couple interstate (one in particular who has tickled my fancy) and I plan on meeting them. I MUST stick to the rules, must must must... I'm shocking though and will probably break at least one rule... *sigh* I've never been a good rule follower, lol :)
