Call me Cougar

April 29 2014

I couldn't care less. It's not at all a problem for me... as long as we're talking a positive image. . But the thing is, there is no politically correct way to refer to older women who like younger men in the forums. Not that I can remember anyway. . So I guess my question would be... If you're not a cougar or various other descriptions that have gone down badly also... How do you want to be referred to? . Feel free to rant on being labelled if that's all you want to say. Peachy

The thing I don't like about the word cougar is the way people think about the word - an older woman on the 'prowl' for a younger man. I have been seeing a man 13 years younger than me for nearly 3 years now. The age factor isn't what attracted us to each other in the first place but a mutual connection of wanting great sex and having the same set of values when it comes to having a non-monogamous/open relationship. I hate being labelled as a cougar as it doesn't represent who I am. In response to your question 'how do I want to be referred to' - instead of boxing/labelling/categorising people, don't use anything, just make it a general question without the labels or being gender specific. We close off the opportunity to get many varied opinions when we put a label in a question, wouldn't it be great to get a diverse range of responses with questions being label free? He is so cute, I thought he was just a sweet guy then he tells me he has a much older woman he hangs with. I said, well my hubby is seven years younger and I like younger men that twinkle came into his eyes, and he smiled that slow sexy smile raised an eyebrow the lawn is about to be cut again today...Lady Chatterly Mangy old pole cat...with attitude. I am so happy that their is a name and that women are being thought of as sexy and desirable at any age. Normally its old biddy, poor old fart, old tart, always with the old in front of it. men get worse names like dirty old men. old pervert you name it. the cougar is a magnificent animal , and an avid hunter. I see nothing negative in that at all.

I really don't understand why you think there needs to be some universally accepted name or label. Don't we have enough of the stupid things already (for both men and women). Here's a novel idea; letting each individual woman decide a) if they want to be labelled at all, and b) if they do then they decide what they want to call themselves....cougar, Tyrannosaurus, MILF, etc. etc...

Isnt the meaning of a name how each individual depicts the meaning ! Personally i think cougar !! Is way more sexy than ?? A feline type mammal that resembles a lion is a roundheaded terrestrial carnivore that moves and bends with ease and has retractible claws ?!!! Well i have met a couple of those fuckers !!! Bahahahahahahaha Bahahahahaha oh! - Posted from rhpmobile

For those who object to the desription of Cougar, I am curious what other description or term would be preferable to you? . I am posting on behalf of the threads that are taken over by women complaining about the term and for the people who want to follow the topic as posted rather then have it become about complaints based on one word rather then the intent of the thread. . Really, I want to know, is there any right way???

Ms NC2147 I hear what you're saying MsNC2147 and I respect where you're coming from. There are different ways of looking at what Cougar means to people and yes, an older woman on the prowl is one of them. . I remember being called a cradle snatcher because Mr P is 3-4 years younger than me lol. We got together the day after his 21st... *giggles*. I way prefer the idea of being a cougar as you can imagine. . I see your point about making it a generalised question and I agree with the idea but I honestly don't remember even a generalised question about older women and younger men get by the people who object to being labelled and that's why I posed the question. I know I'm skipping the gender specific part but that's the way it is sometimes and there are non-gender specific topics about age difference regularly. . I don't think there actually is any simple answer, never imagined there was when I was posting. I just like to try to make people think and I like to know what they think. Um and I guess I like them to know what I think. I promise I don't think I know it all. . Well I think I've thunk enough... LMAO @ Mado & Litonya

Luckdragon, how should a young man refer to an old tart like yourself ? Older than what he'd like to marry ? Younger than his mum ? Cougar, Milf, old boiler, Crotchety old mole ? Not all women like to be called a lady... But it's a starting point, and the said lady would typically educate her suitor on her preferred handle... sweetheart, lover, bitch, ho, slut or darling... Failing that, it's "hello hominid of the female persuasion..." As our ol mate is fond of saying, it all comes back to context... If it's meant nicely... Any name will do initially... There's plenty of time to educate your boy that you prefer to be referred to as toad face bitch, should that be what gets your juices flowing... Hp xo💋 Because you're worth it...

Meeka has a thread in Girl's Ask about the idea of Princesses on RHP. It's quie old, in RHP terms lol. You might find it interesting if you haven't seen if before. . I envision the Princess and the Pea that the Princess has the sensitivity to feel the pea through all those layers of mattresses. . Irrelevent maybe but I looooved Princess Diana. . So, if a thread headed Cougar is not relating to you specifically, that's ok? . I only question how a young man is supposed to present a topic about older women and younger men without the never ending argument about how he should present it. I admit I might be missing something. .. Peachy
