Christians and swinging/non-monogamy/nudism

November 21 2021

Hi all, I know that there are many Christians who are hostile to swingers and vice versa, as well as those who are hostile to nudists. Many Christians and non-Christians alike assume that the Bible teaches that sex only belongs in marriage between a husband and wife, and that pre-marital sex and extra-marital sex is a 'sin' as are some who think that LGBTIQ sexuality is a 'sin' too. But is that actually the case? You'd be surprised. Check out this site http://www.libchrist.com which has been around since the late 90's and was started by two Christian guys who have their origins in the conservative movement having studied theology for years. I'm not posting this to incite a religious debate or anything, but just to let you guys know that not all Christians are hung up about consensual sexual behaviour between non-married people.

How did this get past the mods? I can't speak for anyone else, but I personally couldn't give two hoots what anyone else thinks of my lifestyle choice... 🙏✌

One of my closest friends is a Christian pastor, thanks for the info but I’d never had the impression that all christians are against people with different lifestyles.

This seems to be a pro swinging post or at least non-conservative one. So not sure where the backlash comes from. Of course, just as the OP says, not all religious are conservative when it comes to sex. I've seen even in the homes of some known swingers they have had some personal religious paraphernalia, Christ on cross imagery sometimes, yet the were definitely sex positive and progressive. As a relevant topic for discussion it does have merit. I do find myself on many a singles site hesitating on profiles mentioning religious faith, because a) I'm atheist and b) I'm not sure if it's less likely to find a sex positive outlook. We might get along fine still but the label does lead to assumptions.

There are also concerns about the legitimacy of the Bible itself, but that could be a theme for another topic.... TnH

Okay so the website (and post) mentioned is promoting ethical non-monogamy, sexual openness and education, prochoice regarding abortion, pro LGBTI, and generally a bunch of other stuff that many on this site with progressive views agree with. No I don't believe in the Bible in the slightest like many here, but at least there's something to help some Christians in their open views as opposed to the "be damned to hell" view by other conservatives. I think as soon as many people saw "Christ" that's the view they assume, regardless of the words written. Considering the post was hardly deceptive in it's title, many replies are a paraphrase of "I'm personally not interested in this topic, just writing to let you know". Maybe it was posted in the wrong sub section of the forums, I didn't check that, not sure how he would go about getting a genuine discussion of Christians in the swinging scene by those actually interested in having such discussion, you could try fetlife, but they're not particularly based on swinging per se, although the other aspects they might be supportive of.

If christians truly believed sex was only for marriage, so many of their leaders wouldn’t have been having sex with children for centuries ….and yes i am one. (Not s priest lol)

I was raised in the church it’s never bothered what swinging is it would bother my loved ones. But because of my upbringing within the church and my local hometown and every one knew everyone when I was growing up I.E busy bodies or the metropolitan version of The Dressmaker 🎥 I get a little paranoid if my family found out and call me out on my self respect it was drummed into me from an early age and because of the judgement as well and if I let the paranoia get the better of me by deactivating my account on here I wouldn’t be happy.

I’m a devout Agnostic and Mrs S is very much a Christian and we get along better with each other than we have with any other human on earth. We love our blissful marital sex life and every so often she forgets to be Christian and enjoys being a naughty, naughty girl. What we both believe is that if there’s an all knowing, all seeing God out there, it will know what’s deep in our hearts and if we need to be judged then so be it.
