Don't re-gift a present that you can't remember where it came from. (though this can make for a fun annual game) Don't mix up the "special" gift for your lover with the gift for your parents. (have done this once!)Don't expect to receive. (giving is such fun)Do have a good time regardless of where you are, what you are doing and whom you are doing it with. (am spending it alone this year somewhere in the sun... maybe at Miners Beach ;) )SG

This will be the first time in years that my daughter and I will wake up and spend Christmas morning together.I've worked, she's worked or she's been at her dads.So that it's self is all of Christmas for me. XXFOXY

I treat them the same so why is it different?I think it depends on the level of inner circle they fit into.AWWW think I am turning into CrumpyCrouch towards X-mas the older I get.I'm a bit over Christmas and all the Jazz now.Maybe when I have grand kids might be different.FOXY

A few years back we received a Christmas card from some friends that we gave them the year before. From had been scrubbed out and to put in its place and vice versa. Who keeps cards for a whole year just to do that? Mr Luvsilver

Foxy, I don't re-gift... it just doesn't feel right.I can see why some people would do it and would never look down on receiving a re-gift, just couldn't give one myself myself. A friend of the family has a running joke with her sister, each year they send the same birthday card to each other (you can see the last 12 birthdays for each written in it) and they send each other the same unwanted candle holder (they call it the ugly stick). Thus why it could be considered a fun game if people are into that sort of thing.I always wanted children... that would have made Christmas awesome!... watching the kiddies tear into their gifts would have been gift enough for me. Oh well, back to living vicariously through others.

We don't do Christmas presents, so I still don't. I'd rather give food to the dog shelter I got mine from(brought them 100 kilos worth with my ex two years ago). Though I'm giving a gift to a friend today, simply because he was there when I needed someone and he cared.

in recycling...if you dont want something pass it on to someone who does....isn't that better than sticking it in the back of the cupboard....the act of giving is what is important, not the gift.

I go into a cooking and baking frenzy about now. Shortbread, gingerbread, jams, cordials, kassundi, chutney. I make yummy things and wrap them nicely for all of my friends and neighbors. It's fun and they love it. Better friends get the really good stuff...

I did rewrap a present one year that belonged to somebody else after they had all been handed out , and put it in my stocking...but got caught....bummer I so wanted that present...besides it belonged to my snotty nosed older brother who use to beat me up.   These days I give more presents than socks I get.

Quoting 'Mesmerised' We don't do Christmas presents, so I still don't. I'd rather give food to the dog shelter I got mine from(brought them 100 kilos worth with my ex two years ago). That's a fantastic thing to do I only have mum and dad to buy for, which is good since I'm financially challenged atm, but I plan to give something to a local animal shelter or group as well.

Mes, giving to others rather than 'want want want'. My son is getting a 'sponsored child' for Christmas to again focus on others. Mrs C, I to love to give in every sense of the word!!!!! My whole purpose in life I think is giving, very satisfying......I wish I was a 'maker' like you Awesome, beautiful gifts made with thought, time and love!!!! I was hoping to get some thoughts or ideas for gifts for lovers, FWB, partners etc, any good fun novel treats!!!!!!! ;))

They have thousands of different designs that you can have put onto t-shirts, mugs, bags, posters etc. I've bought stuff for my mum and myself from both sites, and they're great with customer service and shipping. And you can find some really different and unique designs... I even got myself an awesome Luck Dragon (as in the one from the movie) shirt from Red Bubble.

I mentioned on another thread the yummy scented and edible massage oils I came across. Heaps of different flavours to choose from. I can't recall the name of the company just at the minute (again they're online) but let me know if you want more info.
