Condoms????

May 11 2015

Why do men never wear condoms in Porn? I understand it sells - but we are teaching men, women, girls and boys that unprotected sex is normal.

I have been told by a couple of 20 something year old blokes that condoms are out of fashion and to get with the program. I think the government is considering more bowling advertisements to highten awareness. ^_^

Porn is teaching young guys a lot of awful stuff, like that slapping a woman's face and calling her a bitch is normal. Not to mention the fact that if she doesn't have a screaming orgasm within a minute or doesn't want to deep-throat, there must be something wrong with her. It has a lot to answer for. 😡

Quoting 'Meander' It has a lot to answer for. 😡 whaa? porn is awesome, it's teaching young ladies wonderful things - that deep throat is de rigeur, and that if a male shows up at your doorstep asking some innocuous question the best answer is to rip your clothes off and go at it (or that if you do walk in on two people going at it... briefly be annoyed, then quickly jump in too!) Don't look for the negatives Meander, a different POV can make everything positive ;)

Never a dental dam used for the ladies. And where are the rubber gloves? Where do you draw the line? And remember, the stars never or rarely die in the hail of bullets. Because......... its a movie. Not a documentary......

Just the demeaning stuff. Try watching other porn. Google romantic, couple or female friendly porn. As for what porn teaches the young ones, if anyone is having to learn about sex from porn alone, that is an issue with our education system and/or their parenting while growing up, and/or society in general. - Posted from rhpmobile

It is a bit of a mixed bag from what I have seen. I get annoyed when guys tell me don't worry I can't get you pregnant I have had the snip.....well that's not what I am worried about. I have noticed the guys in the 25 - 35 yr bracket seem to have a better outlook on safe sex practices. Not a statistic just my observation. - Posted from rhpmobile

Disney movies have a lot to answer for when it comes to young girls' perception of relationships, for example. With porn we're talking about setting an example that is potentially lethal though. Come to think of it, of course there are plenty of other movies that do the same. (Young big-breasted blond girl waiting far too long to run away from that serial killer, I'm looking at you.)

condoms these days are hugely frowned upon in porn movies. Same goes for ladies who won't do anal, they'll find they won't get much at all in the adult porn world - Posted from rhpmobile

I mostly watch European porn where people will actually hug and kiss and are respectful to each other, but even there condoms are lacking.

Stalky always told me that you were gay but I didn't believe him. Okay I believe it now. But since you both don't wear condones yoursleves when you swing. That must worry you.

    How do you know?

Yes porn should be promoting condom use. A fair amount of amateur porn does, often because it's filming real people at real parties, not pornstars. The other benefit is you can see the people are really enjoying themselves. Also, a lot of porn is marketed at couples or as so called "marital aids", and in the marital situation condoms typically would only be contraception at any one time, unless someone was fixed, in which case bareback porn does represent typical couple sex. But it's hard to blame porn itself for influencing anyone, it's society and (lack of) education that allows minds to be easily influenced as such. The same debates are held about mainstream movies, or video games.

Porn is a grown up industry and all participants are regularly tested, and they are fully aware of how little protection condoms actually provide. Without a very recent all clear from the clinic there is no job. They are in it for the money and an STI will mean the end of their career as a porn star. Producers make them sign contracts in regards to staying clean and getting tested. Though the black market porn is less regulated, the use of condoms is much higher.

In California the porn industry completely shut down all production 3 times in the last 5 years when actors were found to have caught an STI. The shut downs were self imposed, as they are not under government regulation. The shut downs were long enough for all actors to be safely quarantined and able to return to production. All the reported STIs were found to be caught outside the industry and in breach of contracts. Though the industry may outwardly seem concerned with the health of their actors, it is a more pragmatic concern. Good actors are an asset to a company (as any good employ is) and they take great care in protecting those assets.

Because 99.9% of consumers click content that doesn't contain porn so there is no commercial reason for the producers to do so and change what they are making to bow to what consumers are clicking on. Lets face it, porn bears as much resemblance to sex as action movies to real life and is purely produced for the entertainment value. Its also an escape and fantasy so of course we know we should always practice safe sex but the fantasy is better without it. Let be honest, how many people while masturbating and having a scene rolling in their minds, had condoms being on put during the awesome 3some they were thinking about and then new condoms being put on for each new hole etc. Cheers, W.

Occasionally, you will find porn movies where a condom is worn. Having had the pleasure of relationships with partners who enjoyed X-rated movies, there were some of the films where some of the "actors" actually did wear them. Let's not forget John Holmes, who was a big (snicker) star in the porn industry, actually continued unprotected sex after he became aware of his HIV status and died of AIDS related complications. After this, there were increased testing regimes for the entire porn industry due to the fallout of John Holmes' revelation. Let's face it, these days, it's just safer to wrap it before use. That's just my opinion.
