You need to research in Australia. I'm not sure what the website is called. But this will ensure you get good treatment here or overseas. Beware- Posted from rhpmobile

I'm getting implants and I would only use an Australian surgeon. I've seen the overseas implants, they're not awesome. Plus, if something goes wrong you either pay to fly over there or pay twice as much for Aussie surgeons (that are pissed off you went OS) to fix it.- Posted from rhpmobile

on one of the morning shows. A woman in support of surgery in Bangkok and a local Dr from the College of Surgeons here in Australia.. Predictably, the Dr tryed very hard to deliver the fear message with a hat full of negatives. The woman defended the quality of surgery overseas and rightfully so. My daughter had to undergo extensive stomach surgery due to a massive stuff up by a so called ' specialist' who mangled her stomach with botched care and who she rightfully sue'd. Thats another story for another day.The point Im getting to is she elected to go to Thailand simply because the surgeons and support teams here blatantly want to rip the guts out of you . Starting with the consultation fee of usually around $250 + just to friggin talk to them, and thats before the massive charges for the surgery itself. My daughter had a tummy tuck, a boob job and eyelid surgery and she couldnt speak highly enough of the surgeon, nurses, the after care and the cleanliness of the hospital. In her words , much better than the care you get here at half the cost of our so called specialists . There were no massive consultation charges, fair and understandable quotes , good communication throughout and professional and ethical conduct all the way. Naturally you will have replies saying be carefull, from ppl without any experience and that goes without saying. My message is to cross your T's and dot your I's ... ask lots of questions and the answers will come. Thats what my daughter did.. Jay

Started looking at this particular mob 7yrs ago...am I scared "hell yes" BUT so far the service has been pretty outstanding. The price $8k less than what I was quoted here for the same amount of work....and under $20k. If I'm going to invest in something for my future other than higher education might as well see what I can do with my bits to see me into my 70's ~ thanks Jay feel bit better about heading overseas for it and would love to know more/talk to your daughter about her experience. If she's up for it "in box" me and I'll give you my number.

It appears to me that the Asians do just about everything better and much cheaper then western country's ? The auto industry is a great example? The Germans invent it the British make it and the Asians fix it? I've never been past Fiji but a mate of mine heads to Asian country's for all his tatts and dental work? He told me there hospitals are as clean if not cleaner then ours and he gets to have holiday with major dental work for less then the price of dental work here ?? For me though I'd still rather support our own country even if it cost more?? Hope these answers help in some way :))

The question is : Where would you rather spend your Recovery ? Phuket or Perth ? The upside to that is : recover in Thailand and when you get home no-one is any the wiser. And the bottom line : Thailand is cheaper . GG♒️- Posted from rhpmobile

As many of you would be aware, the various current affairs programs have had this topic going for years, and they have generally NOT been impressed with what goes on overseas. I think you have to be extremely lucky to get into the right hospital, with the right surgical team, to get good results o/s. There have been heaps n heaps of complaints about botched jobs from o/s that have to be rectified here, a number of which have not been able to be done successfully. Indy, if at all possible, try to get references from previous patients from the place you are considering, and try to get to meet some of them before going under the knife. Ask the hospital for assistance with this - if they've got nothing to hide they should help you out. Jay, it is obviously a good result your daughter managed to find a place where she got a good job done. How did she get about to choose the particular place she went to ? If I was in the position whereby I wanted some surgery done, I have to admit I would be extremely worried about going o/s to get it done. Checking reputations from here is not so easily done.   T.

while you are under the knife it shouldn't be too bad as long as the surgeon is good at his job. The problems arise when something does go wrong and the surgical support isn't there in Asia as it is here in Australia. We have seen some outstanding work done by Asian cosmetic surgeons and some really, really bad outcomes by others.   Personally we wouldn't go to Asia for surgery but that's just us. We work in an industry where lots of women have cosmetic surgeries, I think the best jobs have been done right here in Australia.

QUOTE: There have been heaps n heaps of complaints about botched jobs from o/s that have to be rectified here, a number of which have not been able to be done successfully. This is typical of the results of the message's circulated by the media and medical profession in this country. I dont doubt there is surgery gone wrong in any country.. ( my daughter had it right here in australia ). However' The fear factor does stop people from doing surgery overseas and end up playing right into the hands of the rip off surgeons we have .I can only tell you or anybody for that matter about the experiences my daughter endured. She had a great result which I already explained. I hope you noted I said you must also do your own home work . Personally' and with what I experienced through my daughters eyes. I have no doubt most surgery is safe with good results overseas...

OMG why OP would you risk surgery for nothing but self esteem issues. All surgery is risky. Ask any doctor (not a surgeon) and they will tell you that any surgery is the very last option. Why? because there is significant risk involved. Even under the best circumstances the risk of complication is high. At best you have a 3% risk of infection, which may require more surgery, can lead to major scarring, months in hospital and at worst amputation or death. In Australia some surgeries have a 10% complication rate and there are some very scary infections lurking in hospitals. I have no data on over seas risk rates. For someone that has body issues I can think of nothing worse than permanent scaring.Unless you have gross deformities, my best advice would be see a psychiatrist about your self esteem problems, for in reality it is only an issue you have. If you feel sexy in your skin you are sexy, you don't need a perfect body (who over 25 does?) to be sexy.Lets ignore the risks and concentrate on you body image issues. Ask your self, will you be happy with the results? There is about a 10% chance of depression after surgery. This is because many people are not addressing the underlying problem of their self esteem. So please do your self a favour and see a psychiatrist, even if its one session, and talk about your body image issues. You don't need physical modification for psychological problems. I know a woman in her mid 40's that is stunning, from top to bottom, but she is a mess of self esteem problems, and struggles getting the men she wants simply because she withdraws, yet her friend who has a very average body has not a care at all and get any guy she sets her eye on and god she is sexy because she feels sexy. Its all in your mind, and lets face it you are only going to get older.

If you don't understand why ppl feel the need to do something that doesn't sit well with them , you never will. What you see and what they see is probably 2 different things. We differ in as much if there's something your not happy with ' you either do something about it or accept it. There's no hard and fast rule when it comes to the final decision. Live and let live.. If it's going to make them happy, they should do what makes them feel good... not others..

we have a friend who went through hell after having a cosmetic surgery done here in Australia.. Ive heard many horror stories not only through the media but from people we know.. theirs some really bad surgeons here in Australia as well . My sister had a boob job in Thailand , she was more than happy with the job.. she paid very little for it as well and said the care taken was better than Australia. very professional . Ive spent a lot of time in hospitals and clinics in the Philippines , and I have to say ,there doctors and clinics are 10 times better than here.. The doctors spend a lot of time with there patients ,they really look after you.. Here in Australia , the take your pulse , write you a prescription and your kicked out within 5 min lol ..its all about money here, they really don't care about there patients.. But with that said , im pretty sure there are bad surgeons in any country.. so maybe do your research carefully.

Plenty of truth in what you had to say... As much as I love my country, Im over the money hungry so called specialists ripping the heart out of our pensioners. While they have another sip of a imported red ? Our pensioners are trying to scrape enough together to sit down and just talk to one. We have this all wrong..

A mate was quoted approx $15K to get dental work done here in the "lucky country".I pointed him to a few threads on other sites about Asian specialists.End result, total cost approx $7K and that was with airfares and a week away with his partner. His dentist is amazed at the professionalism of the work he had done whilst OS.

Exactly the same with my daughter, 2 of her girlfriends had boob jobs, one here because she didn't trust going overseas and the other in Thailand . Both my daughter and friend who went to Thailand are pleased, the other not too happy and regrets not listening...

I had xrays done saw a dentist here ,he told I needed hundreds of dollars worth of work done etc.. I thought no way im paying for that im a student. So while I was in the Philippines , I saw a dentist there, he told me my teeth were fine some wear on my gums and lots of plaque. He spent 45 min cleaning the plaque with his cute assistant helping him, cost me $15 aust !! Before the clean I was having toothaches constantly. couldn't eat sugar or cold drinks. Now after the clean, I can eat anything, no pain at all. And his cute assistant gave me a free toothbrush, toothpaste and a lesson on how to properly brush my teeth. Yes, its true a lot of people don't know the proper way to brush their teeth lol

It would be a Psychologist who would deal with self image issues. Psychiatrists deal with medicines, not really 'talk therapy'. However, is it right to make an assumption that people must have complete body image issues to make changes? I'm not so sue. I am going to more than likely have a small amount of botox done this week.Is things like going to the gym, caring for ones self etc not a form then of poor self image. If she wants to do it, go right ahead. Knock yourself out. But take care. As I said there is a site within Australia (search Google) and find a good reputable surgeon. Do some reading up and study.
