A local saying, which newcomers quickly discover, is that NT stands for ''not today, not tomorrow''. There is also a bit of a curse for anybody who lives in the NT, let alone Darwin - it is always further for people to travel to the NT than it is to travel elsewhere from the NT. My family all think it is a doddle for me to visit them, yet ask them why they don't come visit me here? ''Oh, that's too far''. Having said the above, there seem to be a lot of members of all categories in Darwin, but we're also a bit private about stuff on account of our small size. Chances of meeting someone you know, someone you work with or a friend of a friend would probably be pretty high.

There are but they are more catered for the 45+ crowd. If it's a gang scenario you are after then there is 'groupofguys' I think they are called Either way you are an attractive unicorn, should not be hard to get an invite to many things.

Coming from someone who has been involved in running parties in Brisbane, most punters are over 45 anyway but do occasionally get some good younger ones. Parties should be treated as a private affair. It should not matter if you know them, work with them, etc because they are there for the same reason you are. In relation to running house parties in Darwin or surrouns the I will be up that way next year and can assist in getting them started in exchange for free entry. There needs to be a facilitator though, a person or couple to organize everything. - Posted from rhpmobile
