Do women want the alpha male?

You raise a mind boggling question and as I mentioned in a previous post a 2000 plus yr old issue. Women as men see them are highly emotional and as with multi tasking, they are impulsive and restricted at the same time. I.e make a decision and hold back due to fear. Fewer women are risk takers and it's due to societal laws. Feminism etc are changing this but not attacking the root cause. Technology has made society equal and it's brain rather than brawn which women come out equal or better in some respects. Hence males are not required to hunt and protect the dwelling any longer. I still believe as women get older they are looking for security n a sustainable relationship rather than a big hunk a burning love! Sugar daddies included 😉😉

Hi Earth. Is so good to see you again around here... i genuinely miss you. Now about the subject: I don't know is subconsciously things have changed as they use to be. Talking as the survival instincts as you mentioned. I did notice watch some of shows with similar views that people these days both sexes get too bogged down in superficial things and look extremely lost of what really matters. We all can use nice word's to at the moment of "flirtation " leading up the opportunity of getting someone appealing to the eyes, but not always to the heart. Is a show on Netflix Datting blind. That does show that in a very clear cut. Me in particular I'm very DOM, but i know as well that i do like her to tell me what she wants and be my Dom sometimes. Good to have you back.

To be honest I think we’ve still kept a type of alpha male, but I think the definition of the alpha male has changed a little....from a dominant style affliction to one that’s more consultative and teamwork oriented style alpha .... Of course this is just a subjective opinion...

Alpha males and Fishmonger are dinosaur relics of the past. Women drawn to them are pretty much stuck in a fucked up universe. I think we have evolved to bypass the selfish principals. Sure they exist, but like sugar babies, are they relevant today? I think women, as a whole( not hole) have moved on to the 22st century

I absolutely hate the term 'alpha male'. Men who describe themselves as such are usually narcissistic, egotistical wankers hence I steer well clear of them.

Thanks for this thread, I've been thinking along similar lines last few days based on my experiences (albeit limited sample...) I've met men who society would consider alpha males, from judges, top lawyers, high profile company executives, directors etc, all of whom have always been sexually submissive, sensual or vanilla. The most sexually dominant men I've met were those without tertiary education, warehouse workers, those who joined armed forces at 16, small business owners etc., none that I would consider alpha males carrying serious responsibility and leadership! And many of them had emotional baggage... Is this coincidental ?

Instinct behaviour is still prominent in all facets of life, no matter how advanced we would like to think we are. Reflecting on my own attractions, I can see some unconscious alpha pickings. Agree with 'Anti' that the definition and traits of alphas have evolved with the times. I believe there are natural aphas and those who inspire to be.. Then there is multiple categories within the alpha types.

Being an Alpha or Dominant has evolved with the times and is no longer having a club in hand with knuckles dragging on the ground as it was a long time ago. Being a Dominant in this day an age is more about being mentally Dominant and not physical IMO. A bit of slap and tickle and treating a female as a dirty little s**t is just a mysoginistic view of the difference between the sexes. If you cant mindfuck a suitable partner you are not a Dominant as turning the mind on is the most powerful tool anyone has. This is just my 2cents worth....😊 Libertine.

I am attracted to dominant men, Dominant for me is a positive word which incorporates assertiveness and confidence. I am very dominant myself and appreciate those personality traits. Mr Deep_love is quietly dominant, never outspoken or arrogant. Always in control and very capable in so many aspects of his life. I picked a strong man, one physically strong and one mentally strong. That makes him dominant in my opinion, willing and able to take care of me when I need it, though he knows he is very wanted and not necessarily needed.

I think one issue here is that people obviously have very different ideas of what an alpha male is. The type of men being described by some in this thread are quite different to the type of men that featured in the pickup culture documentary you watched EQ. I do tend to disagree with the notion that the definition of the 'alpha male' type has evolved, I think among the general population they still think of dominance, power, being in control, being physically imposing etc. as the main traits. For me personally the term has no relevance. I know the characteristics I admire and look for in a man - some of those characteristics would certainly not be considered as 'alpha' traits by most but I simply don't care.

I think of “Alpha males” as similar to a popular brand of toothpaste. Just one of the selection that seems to suit most. If humans were toothpaste...

I have had a lot of experience in this area, when I was younger and hung in a group of lets say men ? all from a boxing club and gym, our sole aim was was to compete and see how many women we could sleep with by any means! weekly tallies ruled ! I have done a fair few things I am not proud of and some I am ashamed of TBH, Thank god I grew up and saw what a tool I had become . Yes Alpha males get the girls but most women don't want to take them on long term, who would ? unless of course they think they can be tamed. I suggest that women want a well rounded sensitive, respectful person 99 % of the time until it is play time then unleash that Alpha part that lives within you, problem is you need the intelligence to under stand timing and context , FYI this is generalisation and do not speak for all women as the only thing I truly understand about women is that you are all individuals and all have an infinite variety of opinions. I am sure I will get hammered for posting this is from my experience and view point

Pick up culture books and shows encourage predatory and manipulative behaviour to try make women more insecure and vulnerable. That's the work of a highly insecure person, not an alpha male by any means. There are a lot of traits that would be considered alpha that I find attractive in both sexual partners and friends - confidence, capability, tenacity, hard working, fighting for ones beliefs, resilience etc. I am quite assertive and know what I like, and I find sexual confidence and dominance to a huge turn on. It's the quietly confident men that do it for me personally, those men know themselves and that is very sexy.

I am exhausted from being independent and looking after myself. Women can’t be everything. We weren’t meant to be. So yes... give me an alpha male who is strong, successful, fit and healthy and I will worship him for all his worth.
