  Always seemed to me you need the book 'cause you gotta have rules so no one steps over the others bounds. On the other hand sex can't have rules by it very, very varied nature. Only answer, forget the rules and find someone you trust know your needs, meet their own and neither overstep eithers. So where is that needle, its in this haystack somewhere...

  I find this all ends as it began with confusion. Tis a post modern twist for the emerging result to be "it depends who you ask" . I find no real challenge imagining the internal dialogs of male dominant and submissive players. Of the female, the submissive makes some sense to me, but the Dominatrix psyche is uniquely elusive. The contradiction is in what I know of Alpha males applied to the courtship of a dominant female. What I wonder about is the internal dialog as a Dominatrix dominates. I pose then a new query; Does a female dominatrix enjoys the act less if she thinks the submissive is not enjoying the rituals?

  The 'alpha male' stereotype is not, as far as I understand it, anything like the Dominatrix stereotype, which might clear up the confusion I hope. Even though there are many adaptive traits typically associated with this epithet; strongest, fastest, most productive, etc; in the end it's an exclusive intragroup comparison between males... and that's it. You're thinking; 'get off your high horse and get to your point, idiot.' Fair enough, this is obvious, but from this point of view it should be clear that 'A' Dominatrix is not in any way a group entity, and even though some of the specific traits that define 'AN' alpha male are perhaps very similar to some you might associate with 'A' particular Dominatrix, You are unlikely to ever get anywhere by applying a set of group principles/dynamics to an individual or act/s perpetrated by an individual whose interests/perspectives and distinction do not have to conform to any standard other than that defined by the performing parties. Whatever I want out of the experience depends on how we interact and respond to each other not so much because there is a script in play. OK, I'm done, berate me later for being a stickler for details but I think when you clarify this it also suggests that the reason this role is considered so mysteriously unique (as if any female with a whip, a corset, a furrowed brow and a suitably dirty pair of thigh-high boots must define the entire spectrum of possibilities) is precisely because it is. The individual being dominant is a large part of the allure, at least to me, moreso for their quirks and differences, not for what they wear or if they fit the brochure. I think rather than this being a case of collecting ideals or tendencies in order to put it all into 'that' box with 'that' label on it, you're likely going to miss out on achieving any real understanding. If you're truly interested you need to experience it for yourself with someone who is willing to play your other half as suggested above. Of course, I have no actual experience myself and realise this means I'm talking out my ass but I'd love to know if my view here is completely ignorant of the overriding ideals of the experience? I'll take my own advice one day.

  OK, if I had to pick one it would be option 1 and it would be "Thank you Sir" not mistress. That would raise the hotness quotient.Would would be even hotter would be a defiant stare before the "thank you" and then dropping to knees to delicately kiss the side of my feet, no begging for forgiveness. No slobber either!!However I am a very bad Domme. It's all about me, never about them, and well... it causes problems cos I have too much fun and it doesn't fit the fantasy. Maybe now I'm older I'd be better at it? Hahaha, no not likely, still laugh too much. :)Oh and Tag is pretty spot on, I know a few Dommes and they're all different in how they play and what they like and what makes them hot.

  Like a role-reversal thing. Males tend to be the more physically dominant and so when the tables are turned it's an empowerment thing. All Domme's are different, all would have different internal dialogue as well. But in answer to your question, no. 1 and then I'll slap him again for smiling :)

  Many female Dominants take a submissive role with their partners in everyday life. And then there are the Dommes that "switch" and take on the submissive role in play. I am a sadist and enjoy torturing but I also enjoy knowing that the guy on whom I am inflicting the pain is enjoying it or getting off on it. My sessions are a mix of sensual and sadistic and I like mixing up the pain and pleasure. In everyday life I am easygoing and this is often confused with submission but I have no problem speaking up and letting my partner and those around me know what I want. I would go for option 1 by the way. I hate snivelling subs.
