Dreams and Fear

August 06 2014

Cool quote I read today ... "Let your dreams be bigger than your fears and your actions louder than your words." I also like ... "Change happens when the pain of staying the same is greater than the pain of changing." (or something like that) Is there a dream bubbling away inside of you, but fear's holding you back from going after it?

I have to do it!! Just to prove to myself that fear will not stop me......... I'm scared of heights, so I jumped out of a plane and became a cliff rescue officer........ Scared of the ocean deep, volunteered with the deep sea search and rescue........ I also decided that I would not pass on my irrational fears to my children, so if they ask me to do something that I would normally freak out about, I'm all in without a chance to even think about it :)........ I believe that fear should be your minds way of saying 'respect your situation' and how you portray yourself during a fearful moment, says a lot about you.

I stare fear in the face and dare it to bring it on. Like Bigmamma, I just go for it. As for Dreams, I don't really have any. I am opportunist so when something comes my way and I can see the benefits, I will jump on it.

If you're willing to change, let love be your energy, I can't contain the way I feel when love shines down on me ☺ - fear is a place which we visit seldom visit, it's the thought of fear and failure that scares ☺ - Posted from rhpmobile

I know what it means to walk a lonely street of dreams, hear I go again on my own ,going down the only road I've ever known !!! - reality is hard but everything is a character building exercise and I'm sure the majority have been there in some form . - Posted from rhpmobile

You lose friends. You gain friends. You realise your friend wasn't ever really your friend. You look for love. You find love. You lose love and you realise all along you have been loved. You laugh. You cry. You laugh so hard that you cry. You do this. You do that. You really wish you hadn't done that. You then learn from that and are glad that you did. You have your ups. You have your downs. You look at others and wish you were them. You then realise who they are and are glad you're you. You love life. You hate life. In the end you just find yourself happy to be living life, no matter what's thrown at you. The above is an edited version of something I read online today and articulates why we should minimise fear in our lives and just embrace whatever happens because, good or bad, we can learn from all of it. Many thanks to whoever wrote it - it's beautiful.

Nice quotes. Positive approaches in life and positive affirmations very helpful in moving forward. I dream and try to dream big because if I can achieve a slice of that dream by applying myself, it cease ro be a dream and becomes part of my reality. Objectives set, small and achievable are stepping stones to the dream and reduces unfounded fear to a tasks to be actioned. - Posted from rhpmobile

Fear is the path to the dark side. Fear leads to anger. Anger leads to hate. Hate leads to suffering." -Yoda- Another fave: " Nothing in life is to be feared, it is only to be understood. Now is the time to understand more, so that we may fear less. -Marie Curie- I made my biggest fantasy, to move to Australia, a reality over a decade ago, so I guess I'm living my dream every day.

"What is a fear of living? It's being preeminently afraid of dying. It is not doing what you came here to do, out of timidity and spinelessness. The antidote is to take full responsibility for yourself - for the time you take up and the space you occupy. If you don't know what you're here to do, then just do some good." -Maya Angelou-

I could be wrong, but I think it was an old black & white film reel during the 2nd World War. "There is nothing to fear, but fear itself". My nephew was a quiet kid, very intelligent, he was the 1st ever in our family to go to Univeristy, he got his top pick at Monash Uni, he was a fearless Downhill Pushbike Racer, at 19 he was heading to Germany to achieve some things & study German, 2wks prior to his flight, his mate in Germany had too come home suddenly, his only contact in Germany had turned to dust. I heard he was still going, on the morning of his flight I txt him this quote & told him he had "Big Kahoona's. Many other ppl deserted me including his Father (my brother) mother & sister, but we still have mutual love & respect for each other. P.L.

“I must not fear. Fear is the mind-killer. Fear is the little-death that brings total obliteration. I will face my fear. I will permit it to pass over me and through me. And when it has gone past I will turn the inner eye to see its path. Where the fear has gone there will be nothing. Only I will remain.” - Frank Herbert And we don't even have to contend with giant sand worms.

You so reminded me of something my grandmother said......... I asked, how do you know your in love? Dear, when your in love you won't have to ask that question...... I asked, are you scared of dying? She sat me down and said. I have always followed my heart, taken care of my loved ones, done unto others how I would want to be treated and never held back. How could I be afraid........ She was my inspiration
