Ethnic background options

I thought it would be worth discussing the list of profile options for "Ethnic background".The list of available options here on RHP are quite limited and I quite often see people just listing "other" as there aren't appropriate selections for them.The list of options on RHP is:American IndianAsianBlackCaucasianEast IndianHispanicMiddle EasternVariousOtherAnd here is the list from another popular website:AfricanAfrican AmericanEast IndianHispanicIndianMiddle EasternMixed RaceWhite / CaucasianMaori / IslanderIndigeneous AustralianMediterraneanLatinoBlack / InternationalThe list of options for profiles here seem rather limited.

...I don't really look at that section of the profile that closely. I'm wondering who it is important to?

Why American Indian made it onto the list, but not African American. I've certainly met more of the latter here in Sydney!

for the life of me understand why people worry about race or country of origin. Think Shylock and aren't we all the same inside really? Mike

Various....as my ethnic background was not available to tick...I have noticed though when i do mention my background its often met with the usual uneducated stereotypes that go along with it.So really its hardly worth mentioning at all...You either Love me or Hate me.....as a person not because of my ethnicity

Then where does that put me? What about me? What about the way I look? I'm beginning to wonder the reason why I have not had any contact here on Red Hot Pie is because I'm part Asian and part Aussie, so therefore, I am not what women want. See what I mean?

I think entering what you are would be great, since Australia is so multi cultural... My background is never given as an option...- Posted from rhpmobile

I am not in favour of giving any race option..but looks and culture can be important to know and unfortunately it does depends on race and country or organ. I will mostly like to know in which country members did primary schooling more then their race. If unavailable race option is really imp for someone may be they can put it in profile. RHP can review site options by survey. They can precisely know in what race options members want to use. If 99% of paid members belongs to few races..I can't see any business sense for RHP to add more option. In the past RHP has sometimes blocked my forum topic regd site features..it is good RHP didn't do this to you!!!

Think they need an IQ option ,so we can filter out the ones who think ,from the ones who don't.I just tick "mixed race" as im a bitza ,bits of this and bits of that.I am all the good bits tho
