Go to France, but stay away from Paris. France to date has been my absolute favorite country for scenery. Paris, on the other hand, a shithole of a place. (You are going here) Germany - the Rhinelands are wonderful. I went for a genitalia-shrinking swim in the Rhine but it was well worth it. Berlin is weird and quirky, but I want to go back there again for that and the holocaust museum. If you want to get more chills go to the old Nazi rally grounds at Nuremberg, then follow it up with a visit to the Nuremberg Trials Courthouse. I was underwhelmed by the Bavarian region, but each to their own. The North coast, although a bit chilly, has wonderful places to stay that look out over the Baltic Sea. I could (and did) sit and watch the ships coming and going all day. The Autobahn is a thrill, and weirdly I have never felt so safe driving. There's a system and etiquette that everybody sticks to. Europeans know how to drive - us Aussies are quite shit by comparison.

I loved Paris. The beauty of it outweighed the uncleanliness. Only ever been to Paris, Belgium, Spain and its islands and the Greek Islands. Loved all of them. Everyone has a different view of things. I'm from England and really wished I'd travelled Europe more when I lived there.

Quoting 'HappyGoLucky70' I loved Paris. The beauty of it outweighed the uncleanliness. Only ever been to Paris, Belgium, Spain and its islands and the Greek Islands. Loved all of them. Everyone has a different view of things. I'm from England and really wished I'd travelled Europe more when I lived there. It was the rubbish, and it was the beggars. The beggars were just a whole other level to anywhere else I have been - SE Asia included. Insane numbers of them everywhere, and very aggressive.

I agree Okey that it was smelly and had some rubbish around, but not many beggars when I was there. No more than Sydney lol. Everyone's eyes have a different perception. I could never go to India because of my perception of the uncleanliness of it and child beggars but a lot of people love it. Horses for courses 😊

Try fetlife. Search for country specific groups and post a request for information, I'm sure you'll get plenty of advice. Many of the European groups are in English, however if not I'm sure you'll get replies from non English groups.Otherwise you can always resort to google translate, at least you'll get a laugh PS I didn't find Paris that dirty, in fact I've never seen as many street cleaners / garbage trucks anywhere else. however we where mainly in the fifth or central so can't speak for the rest of Paris. Exorbitantly expensive!!!!!!
