Unsure if you wanted a female perspective but.... I put average because I (as a woman who drools over other women's bodies) prefer a woman to have breasts and ass.. something to play with, which is like me. Not 'large' but not bones and ribs (aka little boys)... you know average in between and perfectly proportioned ;)When you find that description can you send it on through to me... it's very confusing... personally I don't find uber skinny rib baring women or muscle bound women attractive.. I like sexy.. and that to me means being able to fill out a bra and have a slight jiggle on her ass when I slap it *chuckles*Good luck my friend... ps. Not all women have issues with their size - big or small, I love my 'size' ;)*music for this post - Sir Mix A Lot - Baby's Got Back*xoxVT

I had my popcorn all ready for this Topic!! . It does happen with both sexes though...although males will have a keg or 3 going and still call themselves "athletic"!! . I have myself as Ample as I see myself that way I guess! I guess it is like that cartoon that you can see on Google...The one with males and females perspective when looking in the mirror! The female might be slim but when she looks in the mirror she sees someone who is overweight and when the guy looks in the mirror he sees a six pack sexy guy...when in real life he could be carrying a keg or 2! xFunlovingx

Yes, there is a universal scale... Sorry but seems it's as accurate as the RHP penile universal scale.

The simplest way that isn't misleading is just to have height and weight category in the profile description. Similar sights to RHP use this method. If your 5ft tall and 80kg people get the picture .Just like they do If your 5ft tall and 50kg . Its a simple and universal measurement and not some vague interpretation like average, large, voluptuous, thin and so on. Tim

I'm 5ft 2in and roughly size 10-12 so I dunno but I'd guess that's about an average body shape for my height. I'm not muscly or stick thin, I have boobs and a butt (I guess u can judge my butt for yourselves LOL) and enough fat that if I were to get sick, I wouldn't die straight away. So I think that's average for my height. Isn't the average height Australian woman around a size 14 or something? I'd think that ample/BBW would be anything from a size 16-18 up (again, depending on height, size 16 at 5ft is a lot different to size 16 at 6ft). I'm probably going to get crucified for that statement. *Assumes defensive crouch position and prepares for missiles*

My brother and I weigh the same = approx. 100kg...... He is 5'9".... I am 6'3"Well your brother is most likely has a more muscle or fat than you. Once you view a pic you would be able to see what one it is.Combine, height, weight. If the weight sound high for the height and it doesn't look like muscle then its that other wobbly stuff.Give you much more to go on that putting down (average)Tim

I guess its just a very basic guide. No one is fussed about a few KG. I generally tend to find myself attracted to small petite/short girls. So 5' to 5' 3" range and typically I find on the other web sight that lists height and weight girls of the height listed above that also fall into the 48 - 58kg range have the body's I find the most physically attractive. SO if there is no pic and I see a weight that way! out of the range I can tell I'm most likely not going to have that attraction to there body and wouldn't contact them.Tim

The only value that the 'size' field seems to have is to filter those that'll respond No from those that will respond Maybe.

I guess there is also the fact that women come in all shapes and sizes. I'd love to say I'm curvy - I am proud to have curves... But I am also petit... I'm only tiny yet have a very womanly figure - what am I meant to choose?!- Posted from rhpmobile

I would classify Size 6-10 as "Slim" Size 12-14 as "Average" Size 14-16 as "A little extra padding" Size 16 and up as "Ample". But that's just me. Now if only they would get rid of the word "Average". My body is not average. It kind of rocks, cause it does amazing things. Could we make it "Curvaceous"? Or would all women size 10 and up then choose that one and make it even more confusing?

Big curvy girl with sassssssssss as an option. I've chosen a little extra weight (lol about 20kgs worth!!) only cos they didn't have ample back then. So to allay any concerns Singlewood my profile says I'm a curvy chick who's not about to wither away to a supermodel. And I like guys to know they're messing with a heavyweight all 90kg of one. I jiggle and wiggle a parts of me over-floweth soooooo if YOU'RE on a diet I'm not for you, lol quoting that chick on MKR at the moment. I'm all "carbohydrates" mate, you know.....comfort food. Buxom is a word that should be used more often i think. Slimish to average waist with killer curves either side- love them. Actually buxom wench is the term i really like (would love to go to a Saints and Sinners with Mrs Luv dressed as a buxom wench and myself as a pirate but thats a different story) but some woman just don't see it the same way i do-lol Mr Luvsilver

Quoting 'xFunlovingx' although males will have a keg or 3 going and still call themselves "athletic"!! . xFunlovingx Exactly! Guys, athletic does not = beer gut and flab :) I asked a bunch of people recently how they would describe my body and I got a range of answers including average, ample, and even slim (!!??). I settled on average. 5'6" inches is around average height for a woman. Size 14 is around average size. I'm both of these :) Proportion counts, of course, but in the end you just have to make your best judgment. My tip is to always under promise and over deliver!

I agree OP. It's great to have self confidence, however, seeing yourself as some thing you are not is quite different? Slim really means petite or if you are taller small frame. Athletic really means you work out and have muscle definition. Average really means you have quite a few lumps and bumps. Extra padding means, you are over weight for your size. Large really means you are overweight. I would hate to meet somebody in real life and for them to think what was she thinking?

In the mirror most people don't like their body shapes/figures..we add kgs to what we actually are..as they say photos add 10kgs...??? What gets to me is those who say "does my ass look big??" or "Im fat"...people want validation from others...therefore because they are not really 100% happy with their bodies they are misslead to what their actual real size is. Psychological effect. Females can be classified into different sizing..which is confusing! 8-10-12-14-16-18 etc etc or 8-10, 10-12, 12-14, 14-16 etc etc Petite, small, medium, athletic, large etc etc and then there's males....same thing again.. small, med, large, extra large... and then waist measurements on pants and shirts... Phew that's a lot of different universal sizing So I think there its self lies an issue..Would others agree?? Foxy - Posted from rhpmobile

Its a very grey area and can also vary greatly given different body shapes, I am quite tall 5'8 and vary in size mostly 14, but can go either side depending on style of clothing. I have a average bust, small waist, narrow hips but because of a beyonce butt need bigger clothes to fit it!!! Most do not believe i am a 14 (thinking I am smaller) but because of my height i guess its deceiving.I consider myself average as im not ripped, but dont have rolls, not a stick figure either....I agree pics are the best, or just meeting first - truth is, everyone will always find the most flattering pic to put up and angles can enhance/reduce.

I'm Large on My Profile because I'm 5'4" size 22-24 .However it seems I am in proportion .I think what a Woman sometimes put how they would like to perceive themselves, like Men do with Penis and Body sizes too.. Also what was suggested adding a Pic certainly clears it up for all who view their Profile if indeed it's a fairly recent Pic.. Cheers Lu :)

For me personally, I would rather say "ample" than say "average" and be crucified for lying when ya meet someone. I'm certainly not going to take photos of my "fat bits" and put them up, I'm going to put photos up that are flattering to me. I have friends that are size 10, and who wear clothes that show their midriff rolls and tummy fat. I think I wear clothes that flatter my figure, and always try to be well groomed and appear "well kept". Sexiness is in the mind and if someone you meet makes you feel good, fireworks will happen. If you meet someone that is obsessed with wanting a full length nude pic before you meet, they obviously will run a mile when they meet me. I try to gauge a guy's emphasis on the female form before I meet them. Most say "great pics"....I say..."Yeah...of the good bits...lol". I get disappointed when I meet someone who doesnt match their description, so I always try to be as upfront as I can....eg..legs like tree stumps and fat tummy...lol.I guess the bottom line is a person is more than a body shape...they have a face and a personality....Plat

It is interesting how as a general society we get caught up in the size issue. For me I prefer someone who is confident with who they are regardless of size. I also think we are generally on the site to find people for sex. The best way to have great sex is to stimulate the mind.

I'm a size 14/16 (top/bottom) and I ticked 'Ample' as I feel there's more than just a "little" padding lol! And seriously, I believe in being as honest and up-front as possible about what I look like and who I am, so as to not waste anyone's time if it doesn't match what they're looking for. And that includes keeping only very recent pics on my profile at any one time... I can think of little that would be more mortifying than turning up to a face to face meeting and not matching one's own description... I reckon there should be a better word option for 'average'. It's so generic and just doesn't sound appealing (even though a lot of people who say they are 'average' are most certainly very appealing.) Anyway...If you have a few good and recent photos of yourself (that show not just your face but also your body shape) and you are honest about your body type in your profile then that is all you can do before you actually meet someone in person. The rest is out of your hands. The main thing to remember is that there is someone out there for everyone, every shape, size imaginable. It's just meant to be a guide and honesty is the best policy.I think that fudging it and being misleading about your body type, size, height or even age, (even though we are not talking about age at the moment), only comes back around and bites you on the arse in the long run. From talking with men about their experiences I have found most of them hate to be mislead about a woman's size in general. Particularly before they have even met. I hear it all the time. I think it only serves to make men even more justified in their own shallowness. It's a lose/lose instead of a win/win!I am 5'5" and a size 8. I am petite with a small waist and hourglass shape with 12D boobs. But have chosen 'athletic' after consulting a number of girlfriends for their opinion ie: slim v's athletic. Of which 'all' of them said "You are athletic!" (So I figured 10 people couldn't be wrong?) I do yoga and have been a yogi for many years, but, I wouldn't say that I work out at all. As yoga for me is more an holistic lifestyle (than say a 'gym junkie' thing or a hard core 'boot camp' scenario.)

there is always a butt Every feamle views themselves personally in the harshest light possible. Take myself for example. I'm a size 18 with DD/E's - yet i honestly look at myself in the mirror and see a much larger person looking back at me. And if people do ask me about my body size/shape i'm honest about it - as there is no way to hide it in person.

sadly many overweight ladies tick average because so many ARE over weight?? if your tummy hangs over your waist when you sit down, you arnt average. And hiding your tummy/big butt in all the pics , is just wasting others time if they want someone slim?? Just be honest...and find people who are looking for you. To me average is size 12-14...

I tend to agree with 'dontlook down" and requote him by saying 'If you like it, call it sexy". I dont know any one who is unabashedly happy and proud of their body shape and/or size. If we need to define who we are by weight and height well then, I am a five foot three, 80kg woman, obviously a larger woman...but i dont see myself that way. Yes, i know im big, but I also know i have more sexy in my little finger than half the 5'3 50kg woman i know...and yes, ive been that size too...nearlly starved myself to get there, will never so it again! I also have a gorgeous friend who is same height as me and athletic and slim and petite but she hates her body and never feels sexy so go figure...I refuse to be labelled by my clothing size!! my husband and I clearly state that we are not supermodels and arent looking for supermodels...but what we are looking for is sexy fun people...weight doesnt even come into it. If all you see is someones size, you are missing out on so much.

It's fair to say that body shape and size is relative to the culture or society in which we live. Generally in the west we exist in circumstance where obesity is common place, so larger body shapes become the norm or take on the mantle of being "average" ... We also like to delude over selves by assuming that average is ok, that, relatively speaking , what was once considered obese is now a medium body type...I guess it ultimately doesn't matter as beauty is in the eye of the beholder...

Good topic... so many women on here talk themselves up !! ... just like the men do. Seriously... to all you women out there that think your fit just because your heart is still beating, please have look in the mirror, and self-analyse again. So many women state that they are in a fit or muscular catagory when they are clearly not. Muscular means exactly that, just because you are paper thin, that doesn't mean you are muscular or fit, it means you are thin. A lot of women are classing themselves as fit or muscular when you can clearly see the chubby arms and legs in their pics. Why ? Don't know... is it because that they feel that if they talk themselves up (like most men do) that they may have a better chance of getting that man with the 6-pack abs. Remember, most guys on here really dont care what you look like, as long as they get their dick "wet". Then, you have the minority which do care... I myself see a size 14/16 woman in the "real world" as an average woman. This does not mean you're fat or thin, it means you are in-between, a womanly figure... you can still be fit, and or, you can still be muscular, and yes... you can be fat, but hey what gets me... are those women that say they are fit or muscular when they are in fact a woman that is carrying a few extra kgs. Body composition and bone structure also plays a part in what type of figure you are, some of those aspects, you will never change. There is nothing wrong with with a few extra kgs, just as long as you know it and accept it. Does not matter who you are, if you have body-image issues and you have to lie about it to get what you want, you're only cheating yourself. Be PROUD of whom you are... big or small where would we be without women of all kinds... love 'em all

Quoting 'timandjane' The simplest way that isn't misleading is just to have height and weight category in the profile description. Similar sights to RHP use this method. If your 5ft tall and 80kg people get the picture .Just like they do If your 5ft tall and 50kg . Its a simple and universal measurement and not some vague interpretation like average, large, voluptuous, thin and so on. I think this would not really work well - this would be tricky as body shapes can vary a lot even though height and weight are the same from one person to another. For example, a guy says he is 1.80m and weighs 100, you might assume he is overweight where he may actually be muscle bulked or athletic but a little cuddley. Get my point? I weigh more than I look (small bone frame and years of sports have made me put muscle apart from extra weight from having a bub.Everyone has different notions of what is fat or thin or athletic etc so there will always be issues on this one. Same as when people say they are attractive, they may see themselves as that but you might not. I make it really clear that I am not thin or athletic, I am busty and rumpy with hips and thighs and a belly. I also have pics that show my body shape and size. Some see me as plain old fat and some see me as voluptuous or curvy. Im somebody's ideal bodyshape and another's nightmare lol. As for me, I like all sorts so it doesnt bother me much. What matters to me is what someone is like, an awesome personality, a sharp dirty mind, great sense of humour. Oh and its their attitude that will make me decide if I want to fuck them :) Some of the best experiences I've had were with men that I wouldnt usually go for physically (wouldnt find them usually attractive) but their personality and charisma where so sexy that they won me over lol.

Yes,and she was considered the absolute ideal of her era! I'm not really sure if that has ever been topped? Or what the ideal is considered to be now? I think perceptions have changed. The scope of choice is now a lot more panoramic where we value more what is ideal for the individual instead of giving way to the pressure to conform to a universal ideal. No matter how much our damaged collective psyche might still want to?

The measurements you gave are correct, according to dresses Marliyn wore that are still around. I'm quite a bit taller, heavier and larger than she ever was, and I'm a size 12.

I understand exactly what you are saying. I think the only explanation for this conundrum is either, Marilyn Monroe was in fact a size 12, or, she was a size 16 but the standard dress measurements and pattern sizes are not the same now as they were in the 50's, 60's and 70's? I have often thought this while looking at retro and vintage dresses. I would check the size on the tag and think to myself, "there is no way that is a 12, 10 by today's standards?" It's as if they made women smaller back then? It's weird?

Both sizes and women were indeed smaller back then. As we are getting bigger (read: taller and fatter), clothing sizes grow with us. A size 14 in the fifties is what what we would call a size 10 today. I found that out the hard way when buying some expensive vintage fifties dresses for a fancy dress party.

Forget weight/height ratios. Fit bodies have lines on them from where muscle and tendon connect to bone and where skin sits directly on top of muscle. Unfit bodies don't have lines, they have folds, rolls and dimples. Fit bodies dont wobble, unfit bodies do. Fit bodies are hard to touch, unfit bodies are soft. The numbers just don't matter. Like statistics, they lie. You're absolutely right though, there are a bunch of delusional people on here. They all need to take a trip to a less supersized, affluent country and remind themselves of what the human size benchmark used to be. - Posted from rhpmobile

As we have both noticed the same dilemma while vintage shopping! I now know I wasn't just imagining this phenomena!

It's a tough call and yes it does come down to perception. A size box would work I think. I'm size 18 sometimes 20 but I classify myself as large as I am chubby and this is me. I hv been told that I'm not large but hey again that's his perception. Descriptions usually help as do pics. At the end of the day u hv an attraction to someone or u don't. I luv that we are all unique and different. We all hv beauty in some way, shape or form. I say just be honest! Lies will get u nowhere! Xxx- Posted from rhpmobile

I would not say that 14-16 is bbw I would say its curvaceous. And hieght playes a huge factor. Im 5'2 and a size 16/18 depending on the clothes/store. I have a extra padding on my profile as I believe 12/14 is average. But i am very clear when someone is interested to tell them exactly my size. When I was a teenager the ultimate 'sexy' size was 10. Now days over hearing teenage girls talk I gather the new goal is 8 or 6! So its hard to say what is average, bbw, etc etc Beauty is in the eye of the beholder- Posted from rhpmobile

I like to feel soft and feminine.

See our previous posts about Marilyn to get an idea of the differences in sizes throughout the ages. I'm an Australian size 12, which is, deep breath, An American 8, English 14 and a European 40, though probably a 42/44 in Italy and France. My bra size here is a 12 D, in Europe a 75 or 80 D or DD. Now if only I could figure out all the different shoe sizes, Ebay would be a breeze!

There is a new Study about Women and how they feel about their arses, the results were very interesting: . 10% of women think their arses are too skinny! . 30% of women think their arses are too fat! . 60% say they don't care, they love him, he is a good man and they wouldn't trade him for the world! xFunlovingx

where you are going with this but I think you would then have to have a varying scale based on height. i.e.: 3 columns of height against the rows of size... little bit like reading the back of the hosiery packet :-) I'm listed as average..... I'm a curvy size 14/16 but at near 5ft 8 I'm often told I carry it well when I discuss kilo's. I chose average because in everyday life away from the magazines and cat walks I feel average, not slim, not large just average. Why can't we have healthy as a selection, inactive / unwell or active / healthy I know which one I would chose in a partner.... CCxx

The description that women often use is often based on their own perception of themselves. Being right or wrong?? well who knows. I (female) would say that I have extra padding but someone may judge me as being skinny or perhaps very big! It all depends on the person making the judgement. We personally think that particular detail of someone isn't overly important. But hey it might be important to others. Depends what you are looking for. It's all about the connection and the sexual compatibility.

I don't lie. I am well overweight but shedding it slowly.I have a gorgeous figure but to me, ugly rolls. Having said that, I'm getting plenty of attention from all the right folk ;)So I don't worry about it. If someone thinks I'm sexy, who am I to argue?

I'm Big, I'm Beautiful, and I'm a Woman! I'm open and honest about my size, including my clothing size in my profile. I have body shots so people can see too. If that doesn't give guys a clue of what I look like, then nothing will. More than everything though, I'm confident and comfortable in my own skin, and I feel sexy!! I have one FWB that sees some quite slim/athletic girls too, but what keeps him coming back to me is my natural confidence. Yes, I'm aware that I'm not everyone's cup of tea, but then again I have a type too ;)- Posted from rhpmobile

Size doesn't matter, its how they handle themselves, confidence is sexier and self counciousness is not! So confident women are sexy women! You can have someone who is 'slim' but not very sexy and you can have someone who would be 'ample' who is crazy alluring and know hows to dress for the occation and handle herself. There is so much you can do to work with what you have. :)

I am never going to be a side 14/16, never but there are plenty of guys out there who love the soft sensual skin of a plus size woman. I don't lack for male attention in here at all, I do really well actually. I think if you only look at body image then you are missing the best parts...

Quoting 'Ms_Devious' I would classify Size 6-10 as "Slim" Size 12-14 as "Average" Size 14-16 as "A little extra padding" Size 16 and up as "Ample". But that's just me. Now if only they would get rid of the word "Average". My body is not average. It kind of rocks, cause it does amazing things. Could we make it "Curvaceous"? Or would all women size 10 and up then choose that one and make it even more confusing?

My profile says a little extra padding, because I'm currently (and god damned slowly) losing weight. I chose it because it made me giggle. I think every woman is subject to body dysmorphic disorder. In my world, you're either fat or you're skinny. Anything in between is just words women invented to make themselves feel better about their body. Picking and choosing in the grey areas which is the most flattering and least depressing.
