FIFO and what people especially women think of it?

December 20 2013

Morning :-) Just wondering what the women think about men that do FIFO(fly in, fly out jobs to the mines) and how it affects the chances of such men in having a FWB/on going relationship or is it easier to have it that way just for the fact you know they won't be a knocking on your door always..knowing they away for up to a month at a time. Would women on here pursue that kind of setup? On my experience a full on relationship gets killed by being away and hence why I'm seeking either an NSA or on-going FWB setup.. Yes I do FIFO on a 2 weeks on 1 week off roster in WA Thanks

It wouldn't bother me. While when in a relationship I'm very loyal, I do like my own space. It's nice not sharing my bed all the time haha. So a FIFO would be good. 2 on 1 off isn't too bad a roster either! - Posted from rhpmobile

For me its not a deal breaker. In some ways its easier as you have set times you are home and available so scheduling if it involved babysitters etc can be sorted. But would also have the down side of no random quickies in the park or stuff like that when the mood stuck. Now if it involved a man on FIFO and I also had a FB in town well, there you go best of both worlds maybe...lol

I was seeing a guy 3 weeks on 1 week off but it hadn't gotten sexual yet 😞(Irish catholic) he was so sweet.. I come to realise I couldn't do it within a relationship I wanted to speak to him and I know myself I wanted to fuck him badly lol (1 week a month would be a deal breaker) Like missb72 said it would work if you were fb and a local one on the side too - Posted from rhpmobile

Funny enough I was offered a FIFO fuck last week, but he wasn't my type. I don't think there's a problem with it, it defiantly has it's advantages and disadvantages. (just like most arrangements) 💋

I would have a FWB type situation with a FIFO guy, but not a relationship. It was hard enough living my with ex on afternoon shift. At least FWB I wouldn't have to be monogamous and could have a few on the go.

To start tripping over and I get excited about seeing, yes please!!! It's really an ideal for me. FIFO and military men, offer a lot in terms of keeping things fresh and new, you get little time together so you make it count. - Posted from rhpmobile

FIFO isn't a deal-breaker for me because of the on/off nature of it - 'm quite used to long-distance love :) But I hear pretty bad things about the FIFO/sex culture - lots of cheating, rapid spread of STIs etc. Just what I hear - I have no direct experience. Both of those things would be deal-breakers for me.

You are right about the cheating and STI's as some of the guys that do FIFO, use their time off to go to the likes of Thailand, Bali etc to 'get some' Personally thats not me, fully tested and clean, faithful too. To the rest thanks for the input, seems YES is the vote. Shame all of you are over east (women respondants only) and not from WA I think I may have to move from the west back east haha! 😉😛❗️

Depending on the depth of the relationship n if both ppl wanted the same thing n wanted it to work - nothing is impossible if you put the effort in :-)

It's annoying to be perfectly honest. I dated a FIFO worker once, didn't get very far because our schedules were so hard to line up. My girlfriends have strings of stories that mostly end terribly due to communication difficulties. The only ones that work out are where the guy stops doing FIFO! But it's not impossible and if you meet THAT person then nothing is insurmountable so don't give up hope :)

I know a fifo guy, young an does 2 an 1. He says no women like fifo's on here. Ladies you just proved something for me. Thank you. :) I did the fifo relationship scenario for many years. Same as some on here have said. "When in a relationship, I'm committed" If the bond is strong, the relationship is solid. If that's where it goes....... Fifo is fine for some ladies, but not for others, I have friends on here that say straight up"no, never" an others that say "my dream relationship" But are we talking sex or finding a partner hmmmmmmmm
