Favourite beach and why ....

September 11 2012

What's your favorite beach and why It doesn't have to be a beach that you like to get naked at, can be a clothed beach I have to say I live on the Gold Coast and out beaches are move for tourists but the main tourist beaches to me aren't that nice I prefer to get away from the crowds and go to an unspilt part of paradise I like secluded spots with no interruptions As many from around here know, tyagarah / greys lane is lovely spot, so too is the spit (no pun intended - for all of you from out of state thats the official name of the beach !) and apart from the influx of gay activity it is a nice spot Maybe that's just me What's yours ?

First place I went naked at the beach.   Still one of the best places to swim in the NW.   Mike

are some of the best I have seen. The white/yellow colour of the sand, the texture of the sand beneath your feet just feels wonderful. They are all good, prefer the quiter ones.   There are a few nudie beaches around, Swanbourne is good.   We also like Lakeside beach, Exmouth WA.

Yes it is a nudist beach..but so quiet, peaceful...sand stretches forever, and the water crystal clear....gorgeous and family friendly ..and all within 5 minutes of a shopping center, but you would never know it...

God my life has revolved around beaches....and im Piscean :). Hyams Beach Jervis Bay ...has the whitest sand and water like Jade. Had many lovely holidays there! But I also have to say Perigian at the Sunshine Coast, gorgeous stretch of ocean, a delicious handful of little cafes, restaurants and shops and I will live there within the next 7 years. Minxy xx

I too love secluded beaches. I'm from Tassie and love love love it. The east coast is divine and my favorite beach would be Shelly's beach; beautiful surf and goes on and on with incredible mountains in the back ground ... I have beautiful family memories here. Another beach that holds fond memories, not only growing up, is Nudist beach on the north coast - Nudist not so much for it's lack of swimsuits but more lack of people - though it does not lack Marsh flies in the summer... I dream of visiting WA - it's beaches and desert wild flowers.

Its hard to say the best because it depends what you like.....quiet still water of surf.   Being from the Gold Coast i love my Burleigh beach. Any beach in Qld is better than Sydney beaches. I don't understand what the fuss is about regarding Sydney beaches.

There's a couple of sheltered, small, secluded beaches dotted around Clontarf (near Seaforth), which take a slight trek through the bushland to get to them, but they are so worth it! No waves, clear water, the sand isn't full of foreign debris, barely any people, and shade should you want it :)

Beautiful in the bays, awesome surf, not a high rise in sight. Love Angourie as well for the same reason.   Chilli beach up in cape york far north qld. Low tide you can walk out to the reef and spear crays and coral trout. Just   keep a sharp eye out for crocs.

I have to say the flowers are going off here now. We've had alternating wet weeks sunny week for a while now. There is colour everywhere. My favourite beach is the little bit of sand at the yacht club where we lift my sailing dingy in the water. The beach has nothing physical to recommend it.. The water is not very clear, there are some stones as you wade in.It's more about what being on that bit of beach means. ~grins~ Quoting 'Cassandra_Jayne' I dream of visiting WA - it's beaches and desert wild flowers.

Slinkey and mikeandshel I have to agree with you - there are some pests I even find when I go I get unwanted attention from the same wankers (pun intended !!) It puts a downer on a nice day at the beach catching some sun, what's worse is on occasions there are kids around These people ruin it for everyone I would be happy to meet nice people and share a nice day with others - nothing but social, chatting, swimming and maybe a frisbee or two Please don't treat all us guys like the wankers !! Anyone going next week - Monday ?

Quoting 'keekee1989'Whitest sand in the world. Go naked or topless and get the best natural tan in the world! ......these are sort of beaches I love!! A place to work on a great all-over tan!   Koonya Beach in the Mornington Peninsula (Victoria) is great for the sand dunes, long stretch of sandy ocean beach and secluded parts for exploration too.   I agree with Cassandra Jane too....that Tasmanian beaches are great on the east coast! I love the beaches around St Helens on the east coast, as well as Seven Mile Beach outside Hobart, which has a long sandy beach (Gold Coast style but without the crowds or buildings!)   Like some others.....I would love to explore WA beaches, especially some of the secluded ones on the remote north of WA.

Binnalong Bay on Tassies East coast is nice, whiter than white squeeky sand, torquoise water. So many of Tassies beaches are awesome, so many times you are the only person there.....brilliant
