Fight. Bigotry.

“98% of straight men unwilling to date trans women because of hatred, this has to change!” That’s from the Trans Rights Campaign. So, what would you do if you were accused of bigotry for refusing to sleep with someone because of their gender? To me this is completely out of control and I’d just laugh and own the perceived bigotry but it also makes me think of a tv show I was watching recently where this happened and the straight woman acted like she felt bad and was actually considering becoming a lesbian so she wouldn’t be judged as a bigot. Is this really where we’re headed? Would you feel bad for not changing your preferences? Or would you have sex with them so as not to be labeled a bigot? To me this seems like we’ve swung too far in the opposite direction and this is as bad as gay and lesbian people having to pretend they were straight to please society.

I could not agree with the last part of your post more. Just because I don’t want to have sex with a trans person doesn’t mean I have to be an arshole in stating my preference/refusal. Let’s just all not be dicks is the catch phrase.

Whenever I see a quote like that I think to myself, 1) Is this even a quote from “the trans rights campaign” (what even is the “trans rights campaign”?) 2) Was that just a troll 3) if it’s actually a trans person saying this should they even be taken seriously / do they even represent the majority views of the community. That’s clearly a fabricated stat. Seems a bit alarmist to take that as a serious view. Though an interesting question nonetheless.

Really? This is a thing? This is why I don't follow the news anymore. Just the dumbest people saying the dumbest shit. Happy to be labelled a bigot if I dont choose to sleep with someone who has a dick. I dont do sausage. Ever.

I hope this is not about preference shaming. It's OK to prefer tall/short, fatty/skinny, (see what I'm doing here 😉😏) feisty/shy, like/unlike or any other options there are. It's not OK to discriminate any of the above or anything else in this diverse and inclusive 21st century world.

interestingly enough a few weeks ago a group of lesbians under the name "Get the L out" were kicked out of gay pride in Wales for protesting same sex attracted women being coerced into sleeping with trans people. I could help but find it funny watching the poor old welsh policeman struggle to decide which woke narrative he was going to enforce.

To me ' they ' made thier choice in life and l mine.. l dont consider myself a bigot because on my choice is not to endorse anothers lifestyle.. but l am a believer in the ' live and let live ' saying . Bottom line is ' lm a straight male who loves women and what they represent, l dont believe that makes me a bigot..

At the end of the day it’s my choice, individuals are allowed to choose regardless of other’s opinions. Another form of control used in language

It appears shaming is a trend. Western society is losing it’s way. For example if a person doesn’t agree with another person then the first person believes it is their right to publicly call the other one out. Why? What is happening to having your own opinion? Even if that opinion is uninformed or parroting or well researched it is still yours. As mentioned above I feel for what my kids have to navigate through these days. Is it any wonder why mental health issues are at an all time high when people can attack each other relentlessly on social media for what they said or didn’t say. This stuff really gets me going. I’m going to stop and have a lie down. 🤣 Don’t @ me. ✌️😎

The world has gone bonkers. No offense to anyone, or their sexual attraction, but if I am a non-vegan, I don't need to act like a vegan or eat vegan to show my respect to another vegan, and not risk being labelled as a bigot
