Find Wonderful

November 07 2014

I just love the new Myer brand adverts on TV - the 'find wonderful' champagne. It resonates with me as I just love anything 'fairy tale' or fantasy...its just a beautiful advert. Does anyone else love 'make believe' and fantasy/day dreaming still, or are we loosing touch with the imagination due to being in the age of technology? Please share your favourite fairy tale or story and why it resonates with you. My favourite is Alice in wonderland - I love it because of a number of reasons, like because of the word play :) But mainly because Alice is trying to get somewhere but it doesn't really matter what path she chooses because she has pre-destination already planned for her, an amazing journey......I like to thing that is like all of us :) Who else wants to find wonderful?

Great topic I have not seen the ad but I am not much of a dreamer unfortunately, just a realist. I wish I could let fantasy drag me away but reality always smacks me in the face and tells me to wake up to myself. A Mills and Boon novel might be nice for a change, lol.

I also love that ad. I'm a bit of a realist too but could do with a bit of fantasy as a form of escapism from time to time. I may have to go back to my younger years and find what I once loved

If you'd asked me a year ago would I have met awesome lovers, had threesomes (MMF, FFM and MFM) made friends on a swingers site, I'd say no. I have had more experiences in the last six months than in my life till then. I love the idea of the childish fantasy but give me adult fantasies any day. Mary 😉 xx

I try to stop and look at things all the time from the point of view of wonder- it brings you back to being in the now, lightens your mood. If you look at life with a sense of wonder and you play with everything life becomes a lot more fun... No matter what is happening around you... Xxviolet

Imagination is the best! The ability to let your thoughts (good or bad) take seed and go on an adventure is a wonderful ability. I'm pretty cynical but love losing myself in the unashamed romance of hope! Old stories are great, especially if there's a dark side to them. I love the Grimm tales. Greek myths. If you manage to keep that ability to be enchanted as you grow older you're doing pretty well I think.

I love the rare occasions when time allows, to move from the harsh reality of demands of work, raising my kids and financial responsibilities to the wonderful domain of daydreaming and fantasy. Escapism is reality on pause for me and gives me time to recharge my mind body and spirit. I love reading books, fashion magazines to see what I am missing out on, and art books. I paint and cook. I am a cinephile. I love to be immersed in the plot, characters, etc of the cinema. Love foreign films like 'Life is Beautiful', 'Cinera Paradiso', My life as Dog, or Woody allen films such as Purple Rose of Cairo,Midnight in Paris, etc. For a moment, I move in a different world where nothing is familiar and all is fresh for the taking. Love it. Something wonderful....

Very innocent and demure for a change. My favourite fairytale is and always will be Cinderella. I want a fairy god mother to make me look pretty whenever I want and get to rid of the mice and a guy who chases me around the country to give me a rocking pair of heels...ahhhhh! - Posted from rhpmobile

I have not seen the ad so can't comment on that. Like Ralf, I am a realist - but a happy one, because I am also like Violet, I have a huge sense of wonder about the world and everything in it. So predestination is not for me, in fact I find the opposite is what makes me happy and excited: Life is an open book, I get to forge my own path and nothing is set in stone. My choices lead to my happiness, and there is no one pulling the strings or plotting the course except me. Just have to make sure I do a good job of it then huh?

Has always been Beaty and the Beast, it's the ultimate love story. and I agree technology is killing our imaginations. That's why I encourage my kids to make up wild and wonderful stories and to never stop drawing and painting and creating I think we can be realists with an imagination and it's ok to indulge in some fantasy exploration. I have quite a few Id like to fulfill. I love the ads to 😄

such things as Ice age, Madagaska, Avarta, etc.. once I'm in the mood and find the time' I get lost in the fantastic colors, characters and story line . This is one of the reasons I bought a large ultra HD TV... Ad the David Attenbrough series.. colors are awesome...

Quoting 'YandM' Ever wonder where wonderful went? When we were small wonderful was everywhere.Dad was the strongest man in the world,Fairies paid good money for teeth, and a torch and a bed sheet turned a dining table into a wonderful wonderland.and then,we all got serious.Suddenly the world became one great grey blaaaahhh of adequate. Why, when there is so much to feel wonderful about? That decides it,we will bring wonderful back........ As fairytales go, I like Hansel and Gretel because they stuck together and defeated a bully together. None of this "waiting for my prince to save me" crap. I've also always loved "The emperor's new clothes", which taught me never to follow the popular opinion for fear of being called ignorant, but speak my own mind.

it's just as adults we forget to look for it. Try going outside, lie on the grass on your back - don't worry about the grass stains. Gaze up into the sky, see pictures in the clouds. Run your hands through the grass and feel it's scratchy tickle. Listen to the busy bees and watch an ant climb a leaf. All this busy life we just don't notice. Thats where the wonder is.

I'm a realist also, tried the fairytale thing once, didn't really work for me, I wasn't very good at it, he was no Prince Charming, so now I live in my wonderland. It's called my life, wouldn't change it for the world, because you just never know what's around the next corner...... But I have lots of dreams, they are just realistic ones....... My favourite story was always Beauty and The Beast, but I much prefer the new versions of Snow White & The Huntsman and Hansel & Gretel witch hunters.....💋

Sometimes I'm Snow White servicing 7 (not so small) dwarves, begging them to have me. Other nights I'm the beauty on my knees in the corner after being punished and spanked by my "beast". MMmm, once I was the fair maiden kidnapped by rumplstiltskin and held hostage. Hansel and Gretel - You can be my slaves in a cage and shackled. I'll be the Witchy Mistress. Instead of a kiss waking this sleeping beauty, the spell is broken when He wakes me up with His cock in my ....... Hahaha! And I live everyday happily ever after. - Posted from rhpmobile

And 'some enchanted evening' is my favourite phrase of all time. Just those three words ... so evocative, so filled with wonder and possibility. An invitation to dream. The song's pretty good too :) - Posted from rhpmobile

For me, there's no fairytale. Wonderful is there to be found, if you only stop to look. The late afternoon sun descending over the water on a cloudy day, until it disappears below the horizon. The cloud formations of a passing front, a good old fashioned thunderstorm...to say nothing of being far from civilisation, and sneaking up on a couple of unsuspecting wallabies in the bush. So much around us, so much we take for granted!
