Finding Time.

January 27 2017

So open my own business recently and I'm finding since that I have been in business I've found I'm struggling to find time to actually meet people on here or RL. Does anyone else have this issue, any advice? Any story's on how you've made it work? - Posted from rhpmobile

You have to make time. Treat it as you would your gym time or lunch time or whatever "time" has a priority for you.Like is all about priorities and if its important enough to you, you will make time. I do think we are all quick to say we have no time and we are to busy, I know I do it myself. But now I am consciously making decisions not to use that excuse and to make time for things in my life. To welcome things into your life you must first create space.I don't know who said that but I like it. Good luck with the business and the social adventure.

you need to designate time that is just for yourself that you can use either to meet people or have time out or you will burn out very quickly possibly make a pact with yourself that for at least 2 hours on a sunday afternoon you wont work or somethhing like that . easier said than done but you cant work if you are burnt out so its worth doing in the first place

Im self employed. By making time out for "recreational" times you will in fact refresh your mind and body and be able to be more efficient in your business thinking.

If it's the paperwork killing your time talk to an accountant and get them to recommend some software compatible with your needs, then use it ! A bit of time each day is far less of a head fuck than a mountain at the weekend. As the others have said time out or burnout. Start up is the hardest as you have to put in the hours to establish your base, it gets easier as you find a rhythm, but that too takes work. Good luck.

Your own business makes for a pretty hectic life. But it is only part of your life! Find some balance, have designated times which are yours and yours alone....and its okay to say to customers that you are busy during those times. Burn out is real. As is over booking yourself so much that you don't have time for the admin time of your business. So make time to recharge yourself, not only your tools

Try being a shift worker, then you will know exactly what's it's like to balance work, sleep and meet people. I am a shift worker and manage quite well. It's called compromise. Sometimes I get burnt out, that's when a good lover offers to cook, massage, run a bath and pamper me. It's great! You are 19...why aren't you out enjoying what life has to offer? There's a whole wide world out there to explore the world to gain life experiences and met people from all walks of life in RL. Staying at home, doing paper work won't help. Ms Foxy

good luck with your business. Take some time to really sit down and think about your processes, if you can't see any way to streamline how you do things - tell it to the duck :) (It goes off the idea of when you start explaining a problem to someone else - and partway through explaining it your realise your problem, turns out you can do it even if you're just explaining it to a rubber duck). Tell someone else your processes and get their advice - someone from outside the field (if you're in a trade, talk to a mate who is a software developer, figuring out how to do more with less effort is what we're all about). I'd talk to an accountant too - but that costs money, talking to a duck or a mate doesn't. IMO 50z advice is spot on about the paperwork, but without knowing how you do things it is hard to say more.

You'd find the time if you had to see a doctor, exercise or eat, all of which keep you healthy. The same applies to taking time out to enjoy yourself. You need time to escape reality, stop thinking about work and all of life's stresses. Plus, you're so young. If you get into your work so deeply how, how will you be in 10, 20, 30 years time? 😳 - Posted from rhpmobile

Welcome to the world of business. You are finding out what Harry Truman said is true, The Buck stops Here. I joined the family business at 17, 40 years ago. Ran it from age of 27. The issue is there is always something to do in the business. And there is only one reason the business fails, you can't blame anyone else. It will take up a lot of your time at first, however as you get more comfortable with it, you will have time to yourself. Good Luck. Nothing can replace Hard work
