Thought it was a thread about the V8 Supercars. Chose Holden (Ford cars always appear to be driving too slow on the road). HaHa.... Appears not though. Deal breakers? Have to think about that a bit. Let me see !! Liars, cheats, narcissists, hypocrites, loud self centred, disrespectful, dis-loyal, no integrity. I don't know, suppose if I am not attracted to them mentally & physically would also be deal breakers. (not sure if I would be into a vegan as love my meat and would seem a bit odd to have different meals). Don't care about religion, not a deal breaker for me.

Though I think mine have more to do with morals than ideals. I could not go on a date with someone who was against gay marriage or who didn't like animals though. Oh, and I'm all about silver. Yellow gold jewelry is an instant no for me.

Quoting 'Meander' Anyone who voted for Tony Abbott. YOU WILL BE BLOCKED. I think a lot of people realised this was a bad idea not long after. If you would still vote for him then we're probably not going to get along.

I couldn't date anyone who: - Dislikes animals - Has sexist or racist views, or is intolerant of different sexual orientations and sexual expression - Is very religious (any of the theistic religions) - Politically, is very conservative Smokers are another one, although that's not really an ideological example (well, I suppose maybe partly).

Quoting 'Luck_Dragon' I couldn't date anyone who: - Dislikes animals - Has sexist or racist views, or is intolerant of different sexual orientations and sexual expression - Is very religious (any of the theistic religions) - Politically, is very conservative I like animals! They're delicious! And while I can appreciate a certain amount of new age-iness, the supernatural, and skeptical thought - I'm a scientist by training and at heart. I think I'd have a hard time dating someone who is skeptical of the scientific method and preponderance of evidence (anti-vaxxers, climate change skeptics, etc.)

I love differences in people. But I get annoyed by people who expect you to agree with their opinion on something, when you have your own. And they feel it is their duty to change your mind and convert you. Eg: me "Im not fussed on mexican food"...them," But everyone likes mexican food, how can you not like it? You obviously havent been to the right mexican restaurant. Try this place and I guarantee you will change your mind".... Mate, I dont like mexican. Not a crime. Lol.

I always wondered why my Datsun-labelled keyring was always the last to get picked out at key parties.... (Joking...) If you're Atheist would you date a Catholic? Perhaps, but they probably wouldn't return the favour, or any favours if you know what I mean ;) Vegan date a Omnivore? I'm an omnivore, and while I wouldn't date a vegan, I might just eat one ;) Socialist v Capitalist? Sure, if you want a lot of make-up sex from the arguments :) Cat v Dog? No, I don't think a cat would date a dog. Vegemite to the edge of the toast v smoodge in the middle? Don't even go there. BITTER ENEMIES! On another note, I like country music, by that fact alone it seems I have just ruled out the ENTIRE HUMAN RACE for dating prospects...

with both Sir Stir, and willowtree2 - both valid points of view IMHO. If we all knew each others "poorer characteristics" on site here, chances are nobody would talk to anybody else. Methinks you just gotta take each other on face value once you actually have the chance to meet, or at least to have a good talk (email ?) with one another - you'll soon find out if there are real deal-breakers or not. Quoting 'SimonDoes' Quoting 'Meander' Anyone who voted for Tony Abbott. YOU WILL BE BLOCKED. I think a lot of people realised this was a bad idea not long after. If you would still vote for him then we're probably not going to get along. DATING WEBSITE CLOSES OVER NIGHT FROM MEMBER BLOCKING Hmmm - At least 50% of the population had to have voted for him. I doubt the forums will survive nor will our in-boxes if we block each other based on which political party we voted for. And, Simondoes has hit the nail on the head! Stupidity, can be forgiven once. Repeating the same mistake a second time amounts to insanity. The issue though is - voting is a compulsory evil. What actually happens when there is no one left worth voting for though! Perhaps we can all take up 'mindful colouring in' of our ballots at the next election. I'll start sharpening my colouring pencils now ready for the occasion.

Quoting 'Josie8' Quoting 'SimonDoes' Quoting 'Meander' Anyone who voted for Tony Abbott. YOU WILL BE BLOCKED. Hmmm - At least 50% of the population had to have voted for him. Obviously not the place to go into details and explanations, but the Liberals (since we vote for a party in Australia and not a PM) received 32% of the primary vote in the last federal election, compared to Labor with 33.4%.

Well, I forgot to actually name my deal breakers. At first I thought it was a discussion about dating a guy who had a Holden vs Ford! I'd have said I'd never date a man who owns a Holden. I own a Holden which has had Air conditioning compressors break, Window Regulators, those piston things which I was then told was the computer chip actually causing the problem, then it was bits of the radiator. The latest is the side bit thingy on the gear stick just jettisons out as you change gear. Then I have to find the bit on the floor poke it back in, because you can't put it into park. I won't go on. We'll be here all night! Seriously mine would have to be Smokers. Men who will not call a spade a spade, I'm am not into people that obfuscate, or talk in circles. Say what is pinging you off and just be done with it. I don't work with a hint. A blunt stick approach works best. I'm not into people that give you endless silent treatment either. Have an argument and then just move on. Don't sulk for the next 15 days to make your point. And Lucky Dragon, thanks for the reminder. I forgot about how our voting system works. A moment of forgetfulness on my part!
