I've been trying to use more tags in my posts lately but can't seem to find what I want most of the time. So I thought I'd start this topic on the general topic of tags and tagging because I don't know a lot about it. I wanted to ask if anyone knew if there was a list somewhere? I'd be surprised but rapt. If not, would you like to see one? Is starting new threads the only way to introduce new tags because I haven't had any luck introducing any on my posts? I've tried to introduce "forum tags' as a tag on this one, sometimes they work :-), sometimes they don't :-( Are there tags that aren't there that you would like to see? I couldn't find anything on security/safety the other day but might have been looking for the wrong words. No, I don't work for RHP lol. And this is not an invitation to bag the tag system. I'd simply like to learn more about it and hopefully get to use it more effectively. Perplexed Peachy ;-)

"You must search tags that already exist" the only way you'll know if they exist is to search for them. If they don't exist you get toldYou can't post a new thread without a tag, you get told

...the tags mean much. More so just something that happened to pop up on the software used to run this site. Best of luck!

They simply don't work. The whole search engine here is broken as far as I can see. For instance, if I do a tag search I get a 'please try again later' message. I get the same message if I search for a username who I know has posted a topic. Why use tags when:- You can't see what tags are available for use- You can't suggest new tags that could be added- You can't search for tags- You can't see lists of what tags have been applied to posts- Clicking on any tag takes me to the same 'please try again later' page

I just thought I'd play around with them a bit. As you say, it can be a bit confusing if you have no idea what you're looking for. Having a list would help. Some of the tags are a bit random too. I even came across one that looked like a profile name. And yes, same as the time I wrote a thread on advanced searching, the whole search system is down. Too funny. Peachy

Thanks for pointing that out Midnight. You have a lot to answer for... They can give a whole new world of meaning to posts. I think I'll exercise me mind working out what's going on there and have me a fora of fun. Tags and tagging weren't there when I first looked, else I would have used them... Peachy

Think I might have worked out how to add tags. I'm certain they would have a censoring process though and maybe they'll delete my booboo! Hehe, Funny how mistakes lead to great discoveries! Peachy

That's where instant posting can get you haha. I can only imagine someone's face when they look up STIs and get to a thread about, a fit, brain. I follow a page on facebook called Random Midnight musings, reminds me of you all the time. Cheers, Peachy... thinks she will ask RHP Customer Help about this system.
