  All but one we have met (hhmmm not sure how that slipped through my fingers) We are close friends with 90% on our list and continue from even 6 years ago to have regular contact. Wow we even meet on a social basis also...that's a shocker. It's why we are friends, we value our friendships.

  All it does is expand your feed to include their activities. No other benefits I can see.

  And l have blocked each other for ages since he started harassing me. Last l checked, he's right, he has no friends. Not likely to change anytime soon. Actually I'm visualising him friending Softcple sometime soon. Imagine that if you can......

  You get notifications that a friend has put up new photos ("oh god she's so hot" *sigh), responded/posted in the forums ("she's so sexy AND smart AND fun AND wise" *sigh), looking for a date on datefinder ("why didn't she ask me!? *cry) etc. etc. 'Friends' can also give a superficial idea of the kind of people a profile's looking for/prefer to meet here and sometimes the company they keep. "if I know them, and they know them, and another they knows them and another they that knows them, then maybe there's a chance of a 'friends' avalanche of sex!" Or not...

  I don't think it's a weird thread. I've often wondered what the "friends" thing achieves as well. I usually ignore such requests. I don't even think I'd bother accepting or sending friends requests even if I'd met the individuals. Then again, I don't really care about validation or what people post on social media either. Weirdo here. lol.

  Exactly what killer queen said. I’ve found the post to be as informative as any other post and in my case actually useful. Thanks to those who answered properly. To the rest of you (mainly the op) this bullshit is getting old.
