Funny or sexy - which is more of a turn on?

Which has more appeal on a profile? I’ve tried to write myself a “sexy” profile, but every time I did it just ended up soooo embarrassingly cheesy. So, I thought I’d try to be funny. “Try” being the operative word there… There are, of course, some risks with going with humour: namely, not everybody gets the joke. Me? I love a good sense of humour. Life is too short to take yourself too seriously.

One person's sexy is always another person's sleazy.Rather than wonder if you've just been misunderstood due to the tonelessness of text, if someone gets your humour you're more likely to be able to charm the pants off 'em.xx Sarah

When I go fishing I am very fussy. I like to eat smart fish, so I will only eat fish I catch with live bait. A fish that goes for a bit of cheese or bread rolled up into a ball isn't a smart fish. Your profile is your bait. If you have a sense of humour and like to have a laugh then you should write your profile accordingly, go with what comes natural - I wouldn't know what to do if I wrote a generic "I have a big dick and want to fuck and lik you hard' profile and I got a message from someone. Well actually I know what I'd do... but you know what I mean...

giskard, I love your profile! Don't change it one bit (unless you already have, since the last time I gushed over it!) . Funny to me, is sexy, so long as the funny is a good match for my version of funny. As JG says, it's a bait thing. If you want to attract the kind of girl who 'gets' you, and reads your profile and understands who you are, what you're looking for and where she might fit in, then you shouldn't sex it up any more than you are comfortable doing. The last thing you want to do is create a picture of yourself that doesn't really exist. . Flirty x

It is fantastic, funny, witty and insightful as to the person you are. I just love it. If a sense of humour is important to you, go for that as those that dont "get" your humour are the ones you dont want anyway.

Well you know why clowns have that smile painted on don't you? You can be as funny as you want but it still won't get you laid. Sure people like to be entertained so being funny can make you popular... they'll hang around the funny guy all night... and all the while, under the table... the quiet sleazy guy with the deep blue eyes and the devilishly handsome haircut sitting next to her .... while laughing at your jokes.... has his hand up her panties.... and that's who she will go home with.I think most people prefer sexy when they're wanting to get off. I try to put humour in my profile (thanks for the sweet compliments btw!), because that is part of me and Jean Girard's bait analogy is a very good point: the girl or couple that go "WTF???" when they read my profile aren't probably mind kind of people anyway.I think that Stalky might be on to something to. Try as I might, I can't really picture a girl saying to me "Ooooh yeah baby, that's it - do me with that rapier wit of yours."

Sex should be fun, laughter is fun - so should we be laughing at sex or should we just give a sexy laugh? I think laughter can be sexy and fun and you should go with the humour. If people don't get your great profile they are probably not for you.
