I was going to reply to a post in couples forum, with a question, but it would probably be more appropriate separately. I'm curious what your experiences are with anal sex - in so much as, do the genders seems to like to receive it at a similar rate? Settle an argument for me. Do men like to receive anal play at a lower, similar, or higher rate than women? How many men / what proportion of men do you think are completely against the idea of receiving? Receiving, of course can be from anything, or just one thing: tongue, finger, toys, strap-ons, other men. Personally I know more women that say no way than men, so I think that men like anal play / to receive anal sex more than women. Am I way off? What's your figure (I did search, and there are heaps of anal threads, but I didn't see [ok, I admit I didn't look through 80 pages] one that looked at the gender balance. If it has been done a million times, sorry)

Its more popular than most females or males are happy to say. Its just another pleasure but for some it may seem a little taboo. For me its not on the menu every time but I will order it and give it from time to time.

I would say 3 out of 5 men like anal. As for women I don't know and can't speak for them. I like anal myself.

I can not speak for hetero males, but bi and gay guys seem to enjoy it. Not all but most, more than women I know. The differences i have noticed is that men go for (much) bigger deeper. Very few women go to that level, though women seem to be able to take it rougher, again not all, but I am amazed that some can just have it all, just ram it in from the get go. Guys are much more along the take it slowly to start with approach.

for me anal seems more intimate...and I'm talking about any anal play. I don't mind anal as long as I'm getting some clit stimulation as it is still uncomfortable for me. I don't know many men at all in my large social circle that are interested in receiving any form of anal play. Most hetero guys in my experience consider it 'gay'. I'm very straight, but I enjoy giving and receiving anal......it always makes me cum hard whether giving or receiving. My attitude to sex is that if I expect or want my partner to try anal or anything else, then I should be prepared to do it too and i'm cool with that.

In my opinion, anal sex, for a guy, is the closest he can get to feeling what it is like to have a vagina (without the operation) and the feeling is very intense and makes a huge cum response (for me at least). I've come to terms with the 'if it's in you , its gay' accusation, but remind myself that there is a huge range of self/sexual expressions out there, and just go with what makes you feel good, or great. I have a very large circle of friends male and female and I wouldn't have a clue who doe's and who doesn't like anal.. All I know is no one I know displays it ... Personally ' does nothing for me so thats where it stays.. If I was with a female and I liked her ' I'd probally go there for her.. but that doesnt mean I like it..

BM ... My insight came from straight men, so yes, I assume bi and gay men definitely don't mind some bum lovin. Aren't the stats that there are more bi/gay men, compared to women? Thanks ag3mg ... that is the kind of figure I was coming up with as well. But Fit - do those straight men know you like anal play? Maybe it's just not discussed? its4u - Sure we are nearly at the point where we can separate enjoyment of a stimulation, as being different from being attracted to a member of the same sex? I figure men are more 'equipped' to enjoy anal, so it makes more sense that they'd enjoy it generally more than females.

Don't know of any stats in that regard. There are many reasons people don't like anal, for many straight guys they fear been considered gay. A silly reason because we all know it does not make you gay, or maybe they know something they wont say. Many people have never tried it. The reasons varies, but they will not know if they enjoy it or not without trying. It is definitely one of those things that if done wrong can be very uncomfortable, I would say a lot of those that have tried wont try it again because of a bad experience in the past. For many that don't do it, its about hygiene, they consider it dirty, and it can be. For women going from bum to pussy is never a good thing and can lead to a variety of problems.. Personally I will not give or take unless all is clean down there. Most Bi and Gay guys have no problem douching, but very few women that I know do it. If not clean then I am not going there. I have done so in the past and I do not at all like what can happen. I have been asked by women to give them anal, when I say that they should douche many react with a "eeeew, not doing that."
