Its not always about how much money you spend on a gift. For me its more the thought that goes into it. I'm not a materialistic person , so gifts are not always good. To walk in the door and have him give me a single flower tell me the kids have gone to the in laws , directed to the bathroom to find a nice bubble bath waiting , the room full of candles and glass of wine waiting. Have him organise dinner then just the two of snuggling in bed then getting the present .Its about the thought not the $.Happy Bday to the Mrs.

What a nice sentiment, not many guys would make the extra effort. Have you thought of investing in a memory instead of a present? Is it during the week or on the weekend?

You'll have to do well to top the new car you bought me for your birthday last year, lol. How about a weekender on an acreage down south with a trout stream running through it.

Jenny said it wouldn't take long for someone to suggest their gift wrapped cock. We did expect it would be 'smo' though. Where are you, man?

and you guys weren't much help. So I bit the bullet and asked her what she wanted. She wanted a sewing machine. Not a very romantic gift but she does enjoy making things so I took her out today to choose one. Her birthday is on Monday and she will have to feign surprise infront of the kids when she unwraps it.

Grab that old blanket out of the cupboard, or the picnic rug if you do have one. Get some fresh fruit and have it all cut up in bite size pieces. A bottle of champers if she likes a tipple. Perhaps throw some chocolate in too. A nice fresh salad and chicken cut into 8 will do just fine. Given the rain, do pack the bloody mozzie spray.   Head down to a quiet place on a river, lake, stream or just the local park if it has some nice shady areas - you get the picture now anyway.   Take the afternoon off, get someone else to pick the kids up if they are still school age.....or make em bloody walk.   I'm sure it will be a wonderful afternoon for both of you. And a little bit of time out too.   Lets
