Girls, what lures you into reading a profile, and what do you want to read once inside?

August 04 2013

I'd love to know from the female perspective what lures a woman into reading a guys profile, and once there what you expect to see?.Having read differing female profiles I can say that the only profiles I find off putting are the generic template type and the tome format profiles which invariably contain enough clauses to put a legal team to sleep, failing that a cheeky few lines is usually cool.

It's obvious isn't it. A good profile picture. Yours is restricted and I can't see it, then I look at your by line which says I should really put more effort in. Hmmm no offense, but I wouldn't read your profile after that.

I fairness I'd put a solid effort into creating a username prior to that stage and had descended into tongue in cheek by then, I did start with the best of intentions however. My profile isn't really meant to be rude or lazy, it just seems so ridiculous to write war and peace when the reality is that you don't get to know what someone's like until you converse a little, I tend to come over as quite serious when I write, yet the reality is I'm nothing like that but you would only ever get to see that if there was an element of back and forth in there. As for the pic, I'm not sure it's worthy of restriction, it's not really got much on yours and is more suggestive than anything else yet RHP have deemed it a touch too saucy, perhaps I'll crop it down a little.

Not directed at the op... .... but when I read topic asking what women want, particularly is 'competitive' places like this.... ...I can't help but feel there's a big of the "how do I say what you want to hear" research being done. Not always a good thing, IMO. A bit of disagreeing is often a good thing. DG- Posted from rhpmobile

If the username and/or photo doesn't turn me off, I'll have a quick squiz... But if I see relationship is "Ask Me", "Attached" or "Married", I usually don't bother reading any further! What do I want to read? It doesn't have to be War and Peace! It doesn't have to be especially funny or entertaining. Just something that gives you a bit of an insight into what the person is like and what they are looking for.L

You are damn fine yourself girl Friday, but I thought we started on a Thursday night ;-). Im sorry Freya, I have a strict cut off at 79, but having met the Dalai Lama I suppose I'd have to look into going octogenarian.

...to take a peek at a profile purely out of curiosity to see who is behind an intriguing forum comment on occasion.   For the most part though it's usually as a result of messages received. I look at the profile to find something positive in reply even if it's an immediate 'thanks but no thanks'. I expect to see a pic, preferably a head shot - and that would be the one between your shoulders fellas   Ultimately if there is no profile pic (or access to view PG upon receiving a message): there has to be something in the name or in the subject matter in addition to the content of the message and what's said in the 'About Me' and I am looking For' are the contributing factors as to wether or not there is any interest on my part.

I've seen a lot of hot girls posing in messy rooms and wondered why not clean the room first?
