I've noticed a thing. I see a lot of male profiles on here where the man refers to being Greek. Either in his profile name, his tag line, or in the content somewhere, but usually and often, in the profile name.   I see it a bit with Irish men also, but I think the reason for that is obvious. Everyone knows most girls drool over an Irish accent.   But you don't see it so much with Italian/Scottish/English/American/South American men (or do you?).   Anyway, my question relates to Greek pride. What is it about being Greek that makes men want to shout it out with such pride? Like I said, I can understand with Irish men. And I could understand with Italian - the whole Italian Stallion stereotype. And with other stereotypes such as Latin lovers.   But what's the source of Greek pride. Is it the Greek God thing? I predict many references to anal sex now, but that's honestly not what I'm getting at :)   Enlighten me, please!

    well i dunno... my handle came about by accident.. and it got stuck ...see.. my handle was a mixture of two fav things.. History (300 spartans) and Vangelis. And of course, soon, people started calling me Sparty (among other variation of names) SO im not greek, nor into greek pride nor "gay".. it just something im stuck with for life lolPs: Im 1/4 English, Scots, irish and french..

    we are passionate, have great complexions, above average sized peepees, intensity in our eyes, fire in our hearts, and have the dna of king leonidas of sparta, pericles of athens, plato,socrates,aristole. we are brain and we are brawn.That's EXACTLY how I remember him :) I've had a think for Greek men ever since.

    Then again, they are the only ones who make Souvlakis. I have a few Greek friends. Great food, great company and the women are hot. Then they become matrons and transform into friendly busy bodies.They also have a Big Fat Greek Wedding going for them. Great movie. Their football team is hopeless but they can't be good at everything. Most probably they put up their Greek heritage due to family. My friends would have a hard time if they were to bring home a non-Greek boy. He wouldn't be accepted by the family. I think the same could be said for a Greek guy bringing home a non-Greek girl. Of course, this is a sex/swinger site so they might have different reasons. Perhaps the guys think they might get better response from Greek women if they show they are Greek.

    For us Greek guys a lot of it is based on our rich history (shame what we have done to Greece) and being raised on it. We grew up on the same stories/tales that all those who chose to study Ancient History did...we were taught to take pride in it. The plays of Aeschylus, poems of Homer, Philosophy of Socrates, Plato, Aristotle, medicine of Hypocretes, conquests of Alexander the Great, tales of Hercules, Pericles' golden era of Athens...and the list goes on. We see Italians from Rome and South as ostracised Greeks. We took Troy, Persia, Babylon, and so forth. Its about conquest...about how we put a little bit of Greek into everyone's DNA. That's just it...just some feel more proud and want to point out they are Greek. After all we are part of the Mediterranean like the Italians, Maltese, Spanish...maybe we believe we dont get the same recognition as we should...our women and men are as beautiful as the rest and we have the same passion and fire and exoticness.
