Hospital fun maybe

April 16 2013

I currently work in prominent melb hospital as a physio. One of my most recent patients is a 19 yo guy recovering from a motorcycle accident. On my second session with him I was massaging and working his upper thighs and he got an erection, which he was quite proud of and became flirtatious. I refused his advances and ended the session. He is quite cute, athletic and from wat I saw has a big cock. I'm seeing him this Thursday and Jason is eager for me to take it further.......!! Thoughts and advice plz.

I'd be thinking very carefully about this. There are strict codes of ethics around interactions between health professionals and patients. I'm assuming the association that governs the practice of physios in Australia and in your state both have specifc codes of conduct that you are required to adhere to, and no sexual interaction with patients is usually high on the lists. Also he's young, and from the sounds of it likely to brag to people about it if you do go ahead with it. If the wrong people hear about it, it could have a very negative impact on your career.Yeah we all have those medical / hospital fantasies but if it was me, I'd be steering well clear of it and finding suitable candidates outside of work situations.

Don't even think about going there while you are at work!! Code of Ethics!!! If you are a professional physiotherapist then you should know this already!

If you wish to follow this path be fully prepared to be struck of the registrar as a certified physio and choose another career. As luckdragon mentioned...he is 19, he will brag, your career will be down the tubes in no time at all.I suggest you record all of this on his patient file and ask your boss for a new client. It may this young ones fantasy but what is more important to you...his fantasy or your job and credibility?

If you don't want to be sued, fired and have no hope of a future career. Otherwise, knock yourself out!

If you are interested wait till after hospital because you WILL get your arse fired and go on a sex offenders register.   Never take advantage of your patients and if you want sex try a co worker, at least there its only dismissable due to sexual harassment if its deemed harassment.   In this instance you are taking a huge risk.   Mike

Is willing to shoulder the financial load of you not having a job, as well as incurring the legal fees that will inevitably follow should you refuse this bloke's advances EVER again, then by all means go ahead. How are you on the end of a shovel? Can you fix cars? I only ask because all it needs is either one bad word from this 19 yo kid, or even office gossip, and your career as a physio - let alone at a prominent Melbourne hospital - is done, and never to return. Not being nasty and I understand the temptation, but steer clear. Give the client to another physio.

Some kind of role-play between you and (your partner) Jason? If not, it should be!

Could be wrong, but anything to do with the medical profession, get involved with a patient, even outside of work, doesn't matter how long it's been etc, if someone dobs you in, (like him) is big trouble!!Career over!

That you are seeing him for treatment this Thursday and you are concerned it may happen again. If it were me giving the treatment, I think I would say before the session began that his reaction, though understandable, is inappropriate and you are there as a therapist not a sex worker. I understand your feelings though, in my first year of nursing, at 19 yrs old, I was undressing a 16 yr old and prepping him for surgery as he had a wrist fracture. He almost poked me in the eye with it as I was taking his pants off. I just continued with the prep and never referred to it. I know he was extremely embarrassed as was I.

We're just curious - could you enlighten as to how prepping someone for wrist surgery requires you to be taking his pants off? lol

Mr T has a very dodgy ankle that requires physio every week. Happy to be the patient in your fantasy, and you get to keep your hospital job! lol

To the OP.If I asked you "Do you take your career and credentials seriously"?...... I expect you to answer "Yes, emphatically. So it stuns me that you would even consider asking this question.DG
