House Parties

April 14 2014

What is the usual practice when you put down your interest in attending a function?I have put my name forward for attending and received nothing back from the hosts. What is the assumption that I am attending?Or do I sit on baited breathe waiting for a reply?Or better still, just make other arrangements?I don't wish to be an idiot and just turn up and then realize I wasn't welcome. So what is the correct thing to do here?

Are all the venue details on the event page? If yes, then they expect you to just turn up. If no, then they will contact you if you make the cut.

You know what? You are right. Their email address is not on their pageso their loss. I won't be attending......There wasn't enough information givenand maybe there were too many singlegirls to couples ratio...Still new to all of this.May just stick with what I know n trust.Thank you Meeka100. :)

As a single female you should be making contact with the hosts even if you know the venue address. Your safety is paramount and you shouldn't be entering any party without you being announced and guaranteed a "berth".This is also the case for a couple with the lady attending.Every party that we have attended has only been after contact with the hosts, (an invite) never just turn up because we knew the address.Party etiquette has always been that the host has a list of attendees.Imagine if it was come one come all ,,,, how comfortable would everyone be if the local thug gang arrived because they knew the publicised address also.

If its a private party they will get in touch if they want you to attend. I've hosted quite a few private parties and only invite the ones id like to come that have registered. Usually due to the fact I put a criteria ( ie, couples, ages etc ) on the event and half those who register don't fit the criteria so they dont get any contact as I assume they cant read...lol If you registered for one of mine d be sure to invite you :)

It is just the opposite with us, when we advertise a party everyone who expresses an interest gets an email asking them to contact us for more details (ph number and email is given) and it is surprising the large % of people of both sexes who do not follow up and in fact in a lot of cases they have not even read the reply to them a week later.bothtogether6

Quoting 'Meeka100' Are all the venue details on the event page? If yes, then they expect you to just turn up. If no, then they will contact you if you make the cut. at my age the cut of date stops me from attending anything apart from the old folks home.if you try to express interest when your too old it says that, sob sob soband meeks, I hope the cc has no cut of date, as we are doing our Sydney trip again in julybut the bloody stairs might do me in. Might just stick to the art gallery's more our pace

As an event organiser and sponsored RHP party partner we have found there are alot of people that show interest in our events but don't actually attend any events. This can get annoying at times too but it happens. We generally message each individual profile with further event details as well as how to purchase tickets. There has been times where more than one message has been sent out as a remeinder the event is coming up Members have messaged us too if they want further information as well Our website is listed on the event details as well as our email and mobile if any further information is required I hope this gives u an idea from an event organisers view
