have won a million, still have a copy of the cheque, somewhere, but could use another win now we even made it to the news. It was in a syndicate of 12 people and an 8 million dollar jackpot weekend. Over 20 years ago, so it was a lot of money back then, and being in the syndicate, was the best part. We partied hard for a good week lol never came up for air. Just to put this in perspective, we had all numbers, so we picked the 6 main numbers and the 2 supplementary numbers so not only did we get the main prize, we also got multiples of the other divisions. So each person in the syndicate received an extra 10,000 or thereabouts just because of those extra supplementary numbers, so we each walked away with about 90,000 I think from memory (because our syndicate shared with 7 other winners at the time), but all of us found out what it's like to win a million. House values hadn't jumped in WA at the time so we were able to pay our house off, bought some extra stuff like heaps of new camping gear, brand new camper trailer to get to remote beach areas, amazing. We kept about 10,000 for fun stuff, great to use the money wisely but the only chance you'll get in your life to let rip and be wasteful with money so keep some in reserve for that oh and buy panadol, you'll need them for the hangovers

I struggle to pay bills, so a part time job would be better than winning money for me personally now. Be grateful for what you have, money most definitely doesn't bring you happiness, but I always new that. I've always been lucky that way, never had to worry about it, but always found it a necessary evil, happier now than I've ever been and have the least money I've ever had. Being intimately happy with yourself is a difficult place to arrive at, when you get there, you won't care about the finer detail. I don't fuss over the details anymore, life is a gift and a joy and I make every second count. I don't need to be rich for that

won more than about $15 - $20 on any form of lottery. I pick my times when I go in for a dabble usually only like OzLotto or Powerball, but I wait 'til they reach at least the $20m mark, because they generally don't go off before that. Sorry, but $1m wouldn't even be worth it to me. By the time you get into a house, update the furniture (and maybe car), the money, at least here in Sydney, would be all but gone. Wouldn't even be enough left to buy a lottery ticket for the kids. So, Lily, for it to be worthwhile, it would depend on how much I would get out of a 'decent' win. Probably like the majority of folks who have the occasional flutter, I've got plenty of plans on what I would get up to - it really just depends on the amount. House, car, travel, some good deeds, would be starting points. Maybe even (cough, splutter) another partner. Tall

Lily, it you want it made it a separate posting, I will do, but.... If you (everyone) did win it BIG, would you tell anyone about it ?Personally, I wouldn't - and I'm excellent at keeping secrets, so I know I can say that with confidence. I would probably just surprize a few people with some unexpected assistance, but they would never know how I did it. Tall

...won a state lottery back home for $3.8US paid out over 20 years. Three years on I was facilitating a Chapter 11 and both he and his wife were in rehab. The matching BWM's made no sense at all even to them. Depending on the country and considerations, I would most likely offer the guaranteed long-term payments up on the secondary markets and take a lump sum cash payment in return. One comfortable place to crash here, one in Belize and one in the USA would suit me then just kick back and go anonymous. Depending how how much and how it rolled, I'd also set up a private Foundation to help others. Even the seed capital of a mere $250,000 or so will be paying dividends in 100 years to people I would never know. Dreaming is for dreamers... I'm happy to be one! Thanks..... I just had another with my eyes wide open!

I hit the trifecta against all odds...I have three amazing grown or nearly so children (two my own and another) around the world. We owe each other everything yet nothing. The lottery? Hell I blew the equivalent off years ago simply working hard to take care of those that I love. ''Live fast, die young and make a good looking corpse with a massive estate''. ...and an impenetrable will valid on three continents!

I would need to buy a ticket first 😚..then I would buy another small cottage on lots of land and a house for my daughter...I would go on a long cruise, exotic destinations ..and then I would set up a trust to fund innovative educational programs tailored to individual learning styles. I would patronise creatives,...musicians,visual and performing artists ,set up an intentional creative community on an estate to cater for intensive individual and group retreats. I would fund educational program's linked to new Eco tourism projects in East Timpr Q

Lotto money every night in my dreams 😝 but haven't had any luck yet in the real life. That's why I don't have much contribution in the jackpot money for others to win, as I hardly buy lotto 😛 IF I could win a $1m jackpot, I would set aside one third of the total jackpot to be used for charity funding and donation, then buy two properties with the remaining money, with one to be paid off and one on loan. I don't worry about the now-living needs as I'm still young, but would be nice to have something already saved up for my retirement 😋 - Posted from rhpmobile

I tried to reply with quote but it's not working. Anyway, we had friends turn their back on us at the time, which was really sad, they couldn't handle the fact that we had won a lot of money. Funny how you find out who your true friends are As far as telling people, we were excited, we walked the streets, under the influence of course, in a large group, chanting 'Who won lotto......We did' hahaha maybe that had something to do with friends walking away Oh well, too bad

George, .......used to turn up for training in last nights going out togs and hungover. Still produced the goods. Back to the topic, I can think of a few people Id love to help out. Then Id buy a house, fly my family over to Oz and thank my lucky stars that I was so lucky. Id give money to a charity in Africa that runs a soccer camp for kids. And set up more food kitchens for the homeless. Then Id be selfish and have a huge party for all of my friends, a weekender somewhere out of the way where we could all let our hair down. What a nice thought. The funny thing is, I also know money doesnt mean happiness. I had money before, and Im far happier now. But a lotto win would sure give lots of people a much better quality of life xx

I've never brought a lotto ticket , I've won 20 on a scratch ticket once used to buy the crossword ones to occupy myself when I used to have to wait around for an appointment on a regular basis. If I won, I'd be happy to just know that I had money sitting there if i needed it or wanted something I don't really think I'd go all out with it other than to take a holiday and see the world.

I don't win things. I won a cake in a raffle at a fete once. Was going home on a bus, and someone sat on it. If I did win the mythical million though, I'd pay off debt, buy a house, and go on my nerd girl world tour. There are also some charities I'd support s bit more substantially than I'm able to do now. - Posted from rhpmobile

I'd have to win a fair bit I think so I could share it around the family.....first thing I would do is pay out my ex-hubbies mortgage. Why you ask? Because regardless he's my family and one of my closest friends. If I had a million I could do that, but my own place AND set up my business. That'd be enough.....no I wouldn't quit my day job. I enjoy what I'm doing. Boring I know but I don't joke about 💸 😎

I do! If we won a million Lily... We'd look at securing our future first I think. Paying off the few small debts. There'd have to be a holiday on the cards, maybe a train trip. I've long dreamt of a cruise but I think the seasickness would kill me. Either that or a rental by the sea along the West coast. Somewhere we could t

somewhere we could take the pets and family and spoil ourselves. From there, some distribution of a share for the aforementioned family and meaningful donations. Then a decision to remain in our home and improve it or maybe downsize further and make a seachange. Boring maybe, but satisfying I'd like to think. Peachy

Yeah, isn't if 'funny' how a bit of good fortune for some suddenly affects the relationship dynamics with some of their 'friends'. As you said, you soon find out...

... doesn't go as far these days as it used to. Before one knows it, it's all gone! I'd definitely purchase a nice little townhouse or apartment and completely revamp the interior. I would spend under $500K for the property, reno and furnishings and have enough left for a little hatchback car and a motorcycle. So yeah... a humble abode with a classy and luxurious interior. Nothing ostentatious. I believe in living under one's means. I'll give some money to my parents, brother and nieces; sponsor a summer camp program for kids ; donate to the Smith Family Foundation and Medicin San Frontiers; and give some monetary gifts to friends whom I know are having a rough time. 10% so 40% remaining. I'll invest a considerable sum in stocks and other stuff that I have been eyeing for some time. 15% with 25% remaining. Park 28% in a Fixed Deposit and/or Savings for a rainy day or for future investment opportunities or maybe start an online business; and Go on a shopping spree and finally get clothes that fit instead of safety pinning every bloody garment (!!!), go on a vacation to Japan, South Korea, Hong Kong, etc etc, and go on a Luxury European River Cruise. I'll pace myself to make the remaining 2% stretch over a period of time to delay the gratification and prolong the bliss! There... $1 million, fully accounted for!

If I won a million? Doesnt' get you much in Sydney these days. I would buy a place closer to the beach - a small house or terrace house and rent out my flat. Hopefully that way I would have a paid of house when I retire and a flat which will earn me good rental income. :)

I would be boring with 1 mill. Pay off all debt, probably go on a nice holiday close to home and see a financial adviser. If it was one of the huge ones well different story. I wouldn't give people money. But I'd invest a certain amount for them and then pay the, the interest each year. I've heard of too many lotto winners handing over large sums to family members. They blow it and then think well you have all of this money so you can afford to give me more. We would holiday, I would drop a very large sum across a few of my favourite charities where I feel I could make the most difference. And I would do the usually car and home upgrade. Along with a little nip and tuck for me haha
