  It could also be a license for a mailbox full of crap ! I would stick with standard membership and mail people who interest you rather than take the lazy approach of expecting others to mail you.

  I was previously a Platinum member for a few months but did not get any messages. My current paid up subscription recently ran out - during this hiatus I messaged 3 Platinum members, however, now if any such messages are tried the popup appears that i have to upgrade to message. This is even if the member's profile has a notation 'message me for free'. So, Short story - platinum and the promise of free messaging does not necessarily mean much....
