Keeping it hairless

January 26 2020

So I like to keep it fairly tidy down there. I normally use nair or something similar. It works well but sometimes burns the skin. So I’m asking what guys and girls use or don’t use for the best results.

A few nair tips from the male half. Use it once every few weeks, rather than leaving it for ages. 6 minutes seems to be the sweet spot for not burning! Don't reapply straight away if it doesn't work first time, give it a few days. Rinse / wipe off with as cool a temp water as you can handle. Hot water opens the pores and the nair will irritate a heck of a lot more. Way easier than shaving and a lot less regrowth issues. I've done upper body laser, but not the lads! The thicker and darker the hair is, it'll sting a bit more. It's ultra effective if you're pale skinned and have dark hair. It's a time and money investment as a guy with thicker hair, bank on a dozen treatments over a year and a half, then six month touch ups. Just the ease of sunburn cream application at the nude beach made it worth while for me😎

Shaving with the grain, is not 100% smooth but great for avoiding ingrown hairs.

We use Magic (carsons) skin conditioning shaving powder with aloe & vitamin E. It used to burn a bit but doesn't now, nair burns us but this is ok for us. Everyone has different reactions though. We buy it on ebay.

I get away with just hair trimmer for the manicured areas and regular foaming shaving gel for the shaved areas. I have skin that is prone to itching but I never have problems as long as I’m using short strokes (no pun intended) with the razor

I have been lasered for years now and apart from one maintenance visit a year I am hair free below my eyes! As for John we have not been able to find a place yet that lasers guys pubic areas so, this may sound weird but I pluck his pubes. I have done it now for a few years and the hair is definitely sparser when it grows back. When I first did it for him it was a bit painful but he isn't bothered by it anymore. Lasts a long time too.Give it a try!

Silk laser in Adelaide are fine with doing guys. They've got clinics Australia wide. Might be different state to state, but I'd be surprised. The lasers they use are about as effective you can get without going to a dermatologist $$$. If they don't in nsw, look for somewhere LGBT friendly, gay guys have been getting lasered for eons 😉

Just go with Waxing. I'm fairly new to the scene though.Bear it in mind though. Yes, there is a fair amount of "Wincing" & Flinching" involved but it's usually good for 4-6 weeks. Cheers M

I do the same as Milo from Newcastle - a trimmer for the vast plains above, and a good shaving butter and razor for the delicate areas. A bit of post shave dew or moisturiser doesn't go astray afterwards either. I'm looking into getting lasered, but have the same concerns that most blokes probably have about that.
