Lies by ommission

February 26 2013

So easy to overlook, obscure or forget to mention. Those little lies by omission. I've got a bald spot. I'm not ticking that box in the profiles. I'm not adding a picture of it. It's a lie by omission. Can you confess to any? Have you encountered any (of course!)?

oooooh what to confess to??   Let's see - my lifestyle has changed considerably in the past 6 months.....but then employment questions aren't asked.   The black and white photos i recently put up are 12 months old.....i've only just realised this because i noted i'm wearing a wedding ring in the photo! Physically i haven't changed at all since they were taken......well maybe a deeper wrinkle here and there!

What do you want to know? There's probably a lot that I haven't mentioned in my profile or on the forums so far (give it time, I dont have an off button between my brain and my mouth - or fingers in this case). Let me think ... I've been working on the same painting for near on 12 months now. Its driving me crazy. I'm the worlds biggest procrastinator. As for encountering lies by omission well, the pregnant girlfriend was a doozy.

absolutely as fit as fuck, but thats bragging and no one believes 53yo mens profiles and I probably can't deliver and I'm leaving so it's all rather pointless.

But there's more too it than that. It's only a LBO if you believe the other person would actually want to know about it and you say nothing.People are very complicated machines. I'd have to talk one hell of a lot to describe my self in totality. Given, so I'm told, I talk way too much anyway. That would be a very bad thing.Ask me strait question. Get an answer. Which may well be "Mind your own business".If i think you'd like to know something, I'll raise it. Easy....

Ok ok, time to come clean about the photos - I'm not really black and white in real life, and definitely have more depth.A girlfriend neglected to mention her clingy ex was also the chief of the local bikie gang. That was fun.Mr C

And KK, I'd love to see a little bit of you! Which makes me wonder, though: Is not having a profile pic lying by omission too?

No critique aimed at you, just wondering. Just like Messolonghi chose to chop his bald spot from his profile pic...   Or Jman chose to show his good side, instead of his front. Kidding...

All my pics are legit no cellulite or wobbly bits to hide yet :) I mention in my profile I work away but don't state how long for. Partly because it always changes Plus my unit is a bit messy with clean clothes piled up on the kitchen table and all my work suitcases and such on my spare couch,a whole heap of DVDs and a few figurines on my tv cabinet... Too much :D - Posted from rhpmobile

Leaving things out on purpose is a good thing. Especially when you hear "oh wow" and see the look of surprise and shear delight and excitement on a man's face....LOL Love it!   SFxx

what I believe in the pit of my stomach to be true about myself, you or someone else might think differently about, you might think me a lier or delusional if/when you find out something you believe has been willfully omitted in attemp to decieve, however I might have simply left out things I think to be irrelavent, who wins? do I let you tell me who or what I am? or do I define myself and if you don't like it you miss out on all that you could have known about how great I am (really, we're all just trying to help others not limit themselves )   A lie of omission? or are you just overly judgemental?   we each live and experience life as an idividual and there is no universal truth, only our own unique interpretations of reality based sometimes on the currently held (scientific) understanding of the world. (it was once believed the earth was flat remember!)   where others disagree, I believe it is more often than not simply a difference of perspective due to a different lived experience and in my experience that is often coupled with an over-estimation of ones own abilities.   Oh yeah, AND!     Luke, I am your father.......
