Matchmaking

That is, set up/recommend an individual person (or potentially a place) to help someone you know find a friend/partner etc. Share your stories! (Even in the vanilla world). Is it ever a good idea? Has it ever worked out? Have you ever done it for someone else? Have you had someone do it for you? ... I'll start... my lovely older neighbours of several years who have horses, recommended a lovely lady in the saddlery for me (as they know it's just me and dog here); they also mentioned things about me to her. So I did go in there and have a chat, and we arranged a date. It didn't quite work out, not long afterwards, she left the country. (I swear it wasn't me*, her visa ran out!) *Even though it wasn't the first time someone left the country on me...

I knew a guy via the internet and he was going to a singles event, so i took my friend along with me and now they are dating. Was it a good idea? not sure so far so good lol

Through one person one here, that's how I met my soul mate. We still laugh, how it all happened. If it was not for that one person, we would not have met. That person was chatting to the other, then that person asked them to message me to get in touch with them. So I did, it just went from there. That was almost 3yrs ago. And my high school sweetheart...I had a part time job after school, and it was his best mate who brought us together. We were together for a few years. Both our parents actually thought we would up married. That was almost 28yrs ago. Alais didn't happen. We are still great friends to this very day and we had a discussion recently about why it didn't happen. So, I guess Matchmaking happens all the time - I love hearing other peoples stories. I would matchmake for a good older friend of mine if I thought it was within my ability. Or maybe less ironic considering I'm still matchmaking for myself, as they would have a different demographic entirely. In all my years on online dating sites, I have also come across profiles setup for the purposes of matchmaking a third person. Sometimes they are written in first person, sometimes in third person. Ever come across those ones?

I attend spiritual work shops regularly and we often do readings for each other. I buddied up with another regular attendee and the picture on the card he was reading on me resembled a boy I know, my daughter's ex boyfriend, so I whipped out my phone and showed him a picture. In the picture he's wearing a t shirt with "I Like Boys" on the photo. He mentioned how cute he is, will I bring him to a workshop, can he meet him. Nearly two weeks on and they're getting along great! They text several times a day and talk on the phone at least once a day. It wasn't intentional but a nice accident.

The best man approached me and asked if I was single....lol Me being the cynical cunt I am, asked "I thought you were married Ken?? Lol" He laughed and said that some of the single ladies had asked about me.....pffft yeah right. So I told him this....Kenny my boy, I lead a very uncomplicated life. I can fuck who I want, if I want, whenever I want without the need to potentially fry their brain with my involvements in some lifestyle choices.....besides, shouldn't they be approaching me if they're honestly THAT interested?? Lol I can't explain why none of them said g'day lol :p I don't think it's a good idea to matchmaker anyone....serendipity should be allowed to take it's course. - Posted from rhpmobile
