Go to Gin Palace (GP) (it's in the CBD). Order the strawberry Martinis and then walk back up the lane-way to Meatmaiden......................... order the Mac/Lobster cheese and these fried chicken pieces. They had some fantastic salads as well. PS: You need to look for GP it is well hidden.... in the lane way (but it's on the right hand side as you enter from Little Collins St).

Swinger clubs worth looking at are Minx, the Monkey Club (or one of its variations) and the Purr parties. As for bars, there's some great ones out there - the Emerson in south yarra is for the great looking set, the saint in St kilda is a mix of great food, drinks and an amazing fit out, the Melbourne village is close to Albert park and an outdoor pub, and places in the city that are good include Eau Di Vie (cocktail bar) and the mitre tavern (Melbournes oldest pub). Enjoy!!

Forgot to mention, docklands also is a great spot to visit for a nice view and restaurants ,very vibrant but also relaxing ,remember Melbourne has the city circle tram to navigate around the cbd for free ,quite user freindly ,but closer to Albert park would be at st kilda itself , many many bars and restaurants with oodles of people for people watching ,but our choice would be the cbd,if you visit king street after dark which is the strippers and that sort of place ,be careful ,can be rather a challenging area with the 20 something year olds and drugs or booze, sorry long post the casino itself is very good with many upmarket restaurants and drinks areas - Posted from rhpmobile

If your a lover of fine scotches go to the seamstress in Lonsdale st, Manchuria in Chinatown, lots of semi private booths or if you like a different Saki bar try the Robot Bar in Bligh place. A nice assortment of well mixed drinks can also be found at the Prudence bar in Victoria St North Melbourne. The Gin Palace is a tried and true favourite as mentioned by Josie8. Lastly Double happiness in Liverpool st. Hope this helps

Campari House in Hardware Lane in CBD. It has a great outdoor bar area on the rooftop as well as a couple of other bars scattered through the four levels of the building. Look out for the Vespa when you wander down Hardware lane. Poly Bar, Brunswick Street Fitzroy. Fabulous decor, fabulous cocktail menu, great atmosphere. Well worth the visit.

Hi guys thanks for all the suggestions for bars in the CBD however we are staying in Albert Park and don't have transport so was kind of looking for cool bars around that area, specifically around Albert Park Lake as we are staying right on the lake. Any suggestions? From my research it appears Melbourne does not have any 'normal' swingers clubs that you can just rock up to if you feel like a night out. They all appear to be pre planned parties at private residences or with rules so strict just to get in it feels like your really not welcome unless you are a supermodel. There are no parities on the weekend we are visiting which basically gives us zero chance of randomly meeting couples out at swingers clubs. Really disappointed about Melbourne swinging nightlife. It's actually made us not very excited about visiting :( Taby

You'd both fit right in at Debauchery, the longest running commercially run weekend swinger's party with the most people. You can just rock up on the night (provided that you're a couple), plenty of fun people to choose from and you're free to do whatever you want with whomever you like. No staff interrupting a good time in a private room for no reason (unlike other venues recently). I've always had an awesome night there, can highly recommend it and it's well worth the taxi fare. The only problem is that Debauchery runs once every three weeks and the next one is on 20th Feb! As for bars near where you're staying. Catch a tram into the city and head to the Gin Palace like everyone's suggested. There are laneway nightclubs nearby that you can drop into if the Gin Palace isn't for you. So much to choose from. Otherwise, walk to the other side of Albert Park Lake, cross over the light rail and a few more metres to the Albert Park Hotel. If that's too quiet, then hop on the tram outside the front and that will take you down to the foreshore and right opposite The Beach. If you want to rock onto a nightclub after that, then get back on the tram up to the Albert Park Hotel and change to the light rail to St Kilda (away from the city). It's a short few stops and then you'll see a street with a lot of bars and a couple of night clubs. The Saint is right opposite the tram stop, the George (dressy) is across the road, the Prince is half-way down to the foreshore on the same road and if you follow the road around to the left, you'll get to the iconic St Kilda Pub (very casual, relaxed, good crowd). The problem with Melbourne is that there's too much to choose from!

You would need to get a tram or cab though. We are in Melbourne the same dates from Brisbane. We went last time we were there and it was fun.

To get to the cbd. From Albert park , it's a short trip in a taxi , or cross the park and catch a tram , it's not far at all , 10 minutes if that , - Posted from rhpmobile

Are there any bars in Melbourne frequented by swingers or well known as swinging 'pick up' spots? Taby xx

No as far as we know there are no 'regular swingers pickup bars' in Melb; though hang out in brunswick and you'll likely have good luck :PAlbert parks sorta limited and a bit dead, take an Uber to north of the city and you'll have more fun :)x

North is good, Brunswick St has allot of venues and is really eclectic/bohemian. Albert park is pretty dead and St Kilda isn't what it used to be. As twosxy4u said, there are no really good swingers bars here in conservative Melbourne. Just have to find your way, old school, chatting

There are plenty of bars and clubs but not many open meat markets for couples. There are parties on a Fri & Sat night for swingers such as Femmes. Alternatively, search for like minded people here and invite them to meet you a a location of your choice for drinks, that way you can mix & mingle in a public environment and choose who you most want to play with.

One of my favourites is a place called The Belgian Beer Garden. (well that was its former name, I can;t for the life of me remember it's current name). It's a great spot for pre entertainment drinks, etc. then kick on somewhere else. Albert Park is only a quick taxi ride from the CBD, so don't be deterred heading into town. I'd recommend a laneway tour during the day, they will show you some funky bars that are nestled in the lanes of Melb. Union Electric is pretty new and funky.... As for swingers, I always enjoyed Stiletto's but it's been some years since I last went, I've also heard some good reports about Wet on Wellington....... so check them out..... Have fun...
