Melbourne Cup - How did we all do?

November 05 2013

It's the only day of the year when I have a bet.So today whilst lying in bed after 2 hours sleep (jetlag sucks). I decided I couldn't cope with seeing other humans, so I searched online to find an online booking whatever you call it (brain fuzz)Anywho's I found one. Spend $50 and get a free $150 free bet. Oooh yes please. So I bet my $50 and then popped the free $150 on the winner. Thank you very much!So enough of my gloating! How did you all go...did anyone go to Flemington? One year I'll get there

Turned $20 into $96 with Fiorenti so that was worthwhile .. Simenon' beaten a neck for forth would have been nice too..

Love a gift horse. Spent about four times the amount I won later in the evening though.

Had a FABULOUS day though. Took a gamble and felt like an absolute winner.

I bet on Verema, the one that had to be euthanased because she broke her leg during the race . It upset me a bit, I know things like that aren't a big deal for most people but I'm a big animal lover. I only ever bet on the horses once a year for MC but that's kind of put me off even doing that....well, it's not just that particular incident, I've had mixed feelings about horse racing for awhile now (and no I don't want to get into a debate with anyone about it thanks, I'm familiar with the arguments on both sides). Most likely I will keep having an annual Cup bet, but it tainted the rest of my day that's for sure.

You know I always say what I mean and mean what I say. The gamble was phoning a friend when I didn't know if he was interested... He was... A lovely day... 😚

I was a little flat on the day but persevered on sheer will. It was a great event. What a brilliant, inspirational and sexy jockey I had! Got a bit bit tight a few times but the masterful rider kept things in line and helped me hold stride. Even with the potential of a messy track. Got us over the line a few times and took the race by the scruff of the neck. What an amazing rider!!Cleaned up in the satifaction stakes. Now I'm volunteered to stud.Flemington!? What happened in Flemington? I missed it.

That I won't miss out on as it only happens once a year! I'm lucky enough to have backed the right horse (horses in some years) each year, and this year it was another miracle :-) MC has actually become a trend to me :-)- Posted from rhpmobile

I have been on track at Randwick when a horse had to be put down, I tell you you could hear a pin drop in the stands...puts a dampener on the day, that's for sure
