Melbournes Disappointing 'Swingers Clubs'

So we are heading to Melbourne and were super excited about visiting a new city we had never been to before, especially from a swinging point of view. I always google search swingers clubs and such when we visit a major city but imagine my disappointment (and shock) when I googled 'Melbourne swingers clubs' and the result where anything but encouraging. Horrible websites with almost no information, no photo's of the 'venues' (which I have now found out are mainly private residences???), no mention of where they are even located, no information on opening days and times or costs or rules, and just generally a really unwelcoming vibe. Also no 'normal' swingers clubs that we can just rock up to if we feel like randomly heading out for some adult fun on the Friday or Saturday night. The only 'swingers clubs' appear to be pre planned parties at private residences or with rules so strict just to get in you feel like your really not welcome unless you are a supermodel (not to mention all the hoops you have to jump through just to get a foot in the door, which does not even guarantee you will be 'invited') There are no parities on the weekend we are visiting (4th & 5th March) which basically gives us zero chance of randomly going out and meeting couples out at swingers clubs if we feel like heading out for the night. What is with that? Why does Melbourne not have any normal swingers clubs? Maybe I may have just looked in the wrong spot and got the wrong information? Does anyone agree or disagree with what I have mentioned above? Really disappointed with the Melbourne Swinging scene. It's actually made us less excited about visiting. Taby

Did you look in the events section ? There are quite a few swingers clubs, we have been to a few. Some are commercial clubs in commercial buildings as opposed to houses. You were probably just looking in the wrong place . - Posted from rhpmobile

I have looked in RHP event section, I have looked on the swingers clubs websites for event dates. I have looked everywhere. There are no parties being hosted on the 4th or 5th of March by any of the major 'clubs' that put parties on in Melbourne. I don't understand why there are no clubs that operate every weekend that we can just visit in Melbourne if the fancy takes us :( Taby

You're right, there does not seem to be much happening on your travel dates. Attunga and shed 16 are two club options that will be open. But we're sure this thread will generate a lot of, "we're really welcoming down south. Give us a chance to show how welcoming!" ;-)

Make up some of your own fun. There is no guarantee that even if an event was listed, you'd be able to go, would enjoy it etc. Melbourne has a great scene and no there is no party listed in RHP for that weekend but make some of your own fun. When interstate, I don't just rely on the events pages, I plan my fun. We Melbournians are an awesome bunch. A beautiful group of friends just hosted a big party for some WA friends recently, I host people from interstate as well, as regularly as I can :) my suggestion is look for some of those opportunities. Are your travel plans listed in RHP? Create a date in date finder as well, and go from there! Mary xx

there are 2 ,shed and attunga,every week ,but shed is a long way away from albert park , attunga,is fairly close to albert park ,but ,still not in walking distance ,you might need to invite some rhp friends out for dinner , have some fun on the town get shown around ,then attend the party back at your hotel room

Hi guys We always have heard that Melbourne is capital of swinging in Australia. We haven't tried it in other states so not sure how true is but generally speaking many private parties are available in Melbourne. On the dates you are coming there is a couples/singles nights at Monkeyclub which fits to your age. They run the classiest sexiest parties in town and we strongly recommend it to you. We can give you more details if you like. Also there will be a private party on that day which is a very good one too. Have a look at the event section closer to the date and be quick as it's full in a few days. Hope you have lot's of sweaty fun.

We have put our travel dates on our profile and put dates up in date finder and messaged some couples so hopefully something comes from it or it's going to be a boring weekend in Melbourne lol We have looked at Attungas website and could no venue photos or any idea as to what the venue looks like? We checked out monkey clubs website and can't believe the list of requirements just to get a foot in the door ( and even then you are not guaranteed an invitation) to be honest their website is really intimidating and slightly unwelcoming (how it felt to us) Oh well I suppose at the end of the day we always still have each other to play with lol Taby x - Posted from rhpmobile

try Shed 16 in Seaford on a Friday night. every Friday only for swingers and single females $50 couple entry. No single males allowed. We haven't been so cant tell you the numbers they have attending. Address is Cumberland dve Seaford

I didn't get into the scene until after I moved to QLD, and as a 'native' Melbournian I was really disappointed with the clubs there. The ambiance and décore of both the places I went left me cold. Black vinyl benches in cubicles and uv or black-lighting. Not very sexy imho. I didn't have time to connect with any private house parties, but the Monkey Club looks interesting, even though you have to 'jump through hoops'.

Monkey club is excellent you do get vetted but it's worth it, and you will get in. Attunga and Shed, steer clear. Oh and whoever said it, we are accommodating here, hope you enjoy your stay ;)

We have a great scene down here, yes there are clubs that are private residences, but they can be a lot of fun - but it depends exactly what you are after. Have hear people comment that Shed 16 is "hit and miss"....we used to think so until we decided that we would make the night fun, no matter how many were there. We chat to as many as we can, and usually end up with a great bunch of people who didn't know each other at the start of the night exchanging numbers and/or profile names with a view to catching up again. Friday nights are our preference as we don't like the M:F ratio on open nights.....think Pied Piper!! And as ag4mg mentioned, if by chance there isn't a party happening, we create our own fun. Melbourne swingers are a great bunch...hang out in chat for a few days, and you can e-meet some of the biggest party animals down here. Someone might even throw a party in your honour :) Shaz

The Melbourne scene isn't too bad and quite good if you coincide your dates for the right nights. People who write off Shed16 on a Friday may well be right, but again you can always make your own fun there and the venue is very well set up. We have been to Shed in the past and indeed we have had some amazing nights there. We are picky, as we all are, but there can be some nice picks on the night if you are nice to look at yourself in the eye of the other beholders! Attunga is probably okay for couples and ladies night only. Again we have had some fun times there. Do not recommend any other night unless you love being attacked by single men who have no manners. Oglers, rude, creepy, etc. Monkey Club, for us would be a big miss. We are very attractive, great bodies, etc, but we don't do pretentious and that is the image required for this place. Yet each to their own! Private parties in Melbourne are the best and I guess if you have been in the scene for awhile, you make the connections. They aren't generally advertised. Your best option is to take a punt, be social, hook up a connection and go with the flow. If all else fails, fuck each other silly!

yes, Melbourne has heaps of private parties, a few of which are really nice (Monkey Club, for example), but the club scene sucks ass....yes, really. Shed and attune are nothing compared to a proper swinger club, with great atmosphere, sexy play areas, good food and drink...but here you find only shabby homes, tawdry clubs, Yes, you can "make your own fun" and that's lovely, but it's a shame we don't have good clubs down south....
