Menopause

October 15 2014

I've been suffering some symptoms for a while, but was only diagnosed yesterday. I do wonder how much my lowness of spirit the last few months is because of that. . I hoped men and women would share your experiences and thoughts with me. This is not something I know much about at all, and I'd like to get to know my enemy. . Peachy

Meno woman, I am in it since maybe 2 years, I am 57 going on 58. It's like being a teenager now, all this ups and downs.....should I break out in acne then I cry. i still horny, I still wet......but I get heat waves,:) that's what I call them and in my line of work its terrible when you look like a wet poodle one second and the next you shiver and have frozen bits hanging out of your nostrils. Its fine sitting in the office, but going outside in summer.....ohh God underwear watch out.....lol, it has to be cotton all the way.................lol I have a short fuse sometimes, I even got a warning at work.....hmmmm :) I am still laughing about it. The worst thing for me is I get pain...... LOL..............and deal with it......nothing I can do about.....one day it will be over. I have no periods anymore and I like, and when my pussy doesn't shrivel up like a dry prune, I make sure its moistened on a regular basis, then I hopefully can have sex until I die.

I used to think that menopause was just the pause between men:-) ...turns out that I was wrong, that was something else...But the good news Peachy is that this too will pass...and woo hoo no more periods...sooo liberating but they did get worse before they got better....that was basically the worst symptom....every woman is different, for some the hrt patches work well...xxQ

Lol Mado, I can't complain about the idea of never having my periods again! . It has been a pretty wild year after a dream beginning Meeka. Menopause is like the cream and cherry on the cupcake of me and my family's lives atm. We do still have many blessings, it's just been harder to see them with the cloud that has been over me. . Thank you Ralf :-) xx . I'm feeling you Litonya. I've taken to carrying a fan and wearing and sleeping under light materials. And I carry lots of tissues. The 'cooler' weather was all too brief. Lucky I got Mr P to help maintain x . Ay yi yi Ms Q, no more periods between now and ever if I can help it. ;-) I had a Mirena inserted a few years ago... Oh totally YAY that I haven't had a period since a few months after that. To think I might never have to worry about it again. We took it out while I was at the docs yesterday, so we'll see where I'm at there though... One of the things I originally liked about the Mirena is that it's supposed to be good for women going through menopause. So, I'd always kinda figured I'd be having it reinserted when the old one ran out, if I needed to. Crosses fingers. xxx . What did it do for other women's sex lives I wondered? I already feel like my orgasms are different.

I have made an action plan for when Tara goes through menopause. A portable water tank with a pump and hose, so I can cool her down where ever we go. And a freezer full of Zooper Dooper ice blocks. She will get the royal flush.

I see it hasn't effected your reflexes. Plus when she is feeling down I will take her to the circus, she loves all the bells and whistles. Perhaps the ice ballet. Glad you bought this up, got work to do.

I started menopause early at 46 due to the rheumatoid arthritis - it was shocking in the beginning - mood swings, major depression, hot flushes etc etc. All I can say is don't waste your time with all the natural stuff (all they did was make me fart like crazy)! - get on the HRT patches and you will feel wonderful again. And definitely get a new Mirena inserted when the old one run out after 5 years as that does help too. Good Luck Pusscat xxx

Of course it's all individual, you're so right Jack. There are always similarities in among the differences though. . Hehe Enange... if only we got to pick the ride! . I waited to post and I still haven't grabbed your meaning to be able to reply Mado lol. I swear my brain works worse then ever. Have you ever tried speaking a sentence where you can't remember half of the words or references. It comes out sounding like you have a severe stutter crossed with tourettes... . You've got to love it when a word spells it all out LOL dear Sir! . Can you believe it has been 5 years for me since I had my Mirena inserted already Pusscat? I had it removed the day I was diagnosed during the week, and we're going to see where I'm at before looking at reinserting it. I'm not averse to HRT though the Dr did point out the increased risk of cancer because of it. I went the tablets to start with though... it's been like magic so far. Not crying at the drop of a hat has been awesome! Crying is such an exhausting excercise. Plus, not really socially acceptable, lol. Ah yeah, and the less attention about that crying, the better for me. Good luck to you both, my RHP poster couple. Even your profile names always made the perfect match. Hugs

Hi Peachy, I hear you. A hysterectomy and early menopause has been an interesting ride! My moods have definitely settled ( family is smiling again), NO PERIODS (yay), libido ( im like a friggin horny teenager, poor hubby ) and sex (out of this world). The orgasms are much more intense and since then I squirt, go figure. I am always feeling hot ( I still struggle with this) but sometimes I put that down to my Greek heritage ;) even in winter I wear really light clothing because I am sick of feeling so damn hot (no pun intended) all the time. Night time is the worst, I am constantly adjusting layers to get some decent sleep where I haven't overheated. I cry at anything, so people really didn't associate that to menopause with me ;) You will get to the other side of this and laugh. Hang in there lovely. Mary xx

lucky when you can go on HRT. For me its not possible due to my sisters cancer. I had and have to find ways to reduce my pain, the " hot waves" I am not concerned by, the pain in my bones is much more to deal with, so by trying to control my mind. Mind control sounds strange when I write it now, I can live with it. I have meditation tapes to make me relax when it get very bad. I think it will go way away one day and its not a life sentence, so I deal with it. And again what else can I do...... Peachy.....we should open a club.....please join THIS IS THE CLUB Of THE HOT FLUSHED WOMEN .......................sit in a room with the air con on full blast.................giggle and share the stories. I am sending you my love......L

I have sort of made the time Tara goes through menopause as a personal challenge. I have been lucky for to have spent most of my adult life with Tara as my best friend and if she goes through some rough times, then I plan on being right there with her, if I get things right and reduce as much stress, then she will breeze through it all OK. I am a strong believer that stress is our enemy, menopause is just natural. I think the ice pack is a good idea, but Zooper Dooper ice blocks taste good too and will help to keep up the fluids. Dehydration, ain't much good for us either. That's the plan.

Lucky you Trudy lol... I'd hoped I'd get an easy ride... . Hi Mary, I've been enjoying your posts in the forums. We sound a lot alike with the tears lol, and being hot too lolol. I didn't even make it our of summer clothes this year. The night heat and the moods has settled some on medication, and now that I know what's going on I suppose. It's good to know menopause isn't all bad news though... I have yet to see where my libido is going to settle hehe. Now if I could just find that thing I used to think with. . Oh, that's a shame Litonya, I probably shouldn't be on it due to my run ins with cancer in the past but the Dr didn't ask me about that (ahem, guess I'll mention it next visit)... just family history, and I don't know that. You must have a very strong mind, the sooner the pain is gone for you, the better. Lovely Litonya, I'm picturing a dazzling room carved from ice for us beauties. Hope all is well, hugs. . You are exceptional Mado, I don't think the Mr has cottoned on yet lol, and that what I was wondering about what you meant, 'thinking he is prepared' hehe. I agree with you about stress, not knowing what was going on for me was the worst. And I'm usually such a good girl guide.
