Missing Out

February 10 2015

I saw a post on Facebook where a woman said she had never seen "Titanic". What blockbuster do you feel you are the only person on earth who has never seen it? For me, I have a few - Star Wars, Lord of The Rings and Avatar just for starters! What are yours?

I would rather read a book than see a movie. I haven't seen a lot of the movies people have mentioned above. Although I now have two very close friends who are movie buffs so I have seen more movies in the last few years than I have in my whole entire life! My sister, who is a huge Star Wars fan, made me sit down one new year's day and we watched all three Star Wars movies (only three I think at the time) I remember absolutely zero about them.

I prefer books but I will watch SciFi and Fantasy movies, unfortunately most don't come close to the books. Any of the chick flicks blockbusters, like Titanic, I haven't and refuse to watch.

the Star Wars films even though my son has been hounding me to watch them, we own all 6 of them. SciFi is not my scene. The only movie I have ever fallen asleep in is Avatar, I tried to watch it with my sister but I was gone within 5 minutes of it starting! I own it and can watch it anytime but I have no desire to watch it. Braveheart is another. War movies just don't appeal to me either. My eldest son tried to get me to watch The Hurtlocker but couldn't sit through it.

Never seen any of the Rocky movies... and I intend to keep it that way. Another one is The Time Travellers Wife. Like Meeka & Funlover, I'm more of a book person, so I'veread the book. I loved it but it reduced me to tears. I tried to read again a couple of months ago but couldn't finish the last 100 pages because it upset me too much. No way am I going to see the movie now... not keen to deliberately expose myself to what i already know is going to be a sad ending lol. Much love, Elle xx

Godfather 2 and 3 always seem to be on TV, but I refuse to watch until I see the first one. Time to go to JB and just buy the box set.

Nightmare on Elm Street And I don't think I want to either. Horror movies where people get mutilated by humans, does not "do it" for me. There's enough horror of that kind in the real world !!! Amy

It's one of the few movies that has made my eyes water. It's based on a true story and is all the more touching for that. When a movie or book can affect my emotions then i respect it as a success. Invictus is another.

heaps of blockbusters I haven't seen, few of the mainstream Hollywood movies appeal to me these days. Some of the older ones were good. About Titanic...I had absolutely no desire to watch it (not a fan of soppy chick flicks), and then I was coming home on a train which broke down. We had to transfer to buses for the rest of the journey, and what movie did they happen to put on. I must have already finished whatever reading material I had because I actually watched the whole bloody thing. Absolutely terrible.

...I haven't seen that one, I'll have to look it up.The first "Feel Good" movie I remember is Local Hero, featuring a title song by none other than Dire Straits.A bit of an eye waterer at the end...but tears of the good kind.Another one to move me is Clint Eastwoods Gran Torino. That man has gotten better with age...

Quoting 'MrsPearLescent' We have a house guest who hasn't seen a lot of blockbuster movies. . Tonight, we're watching, "Poltergeist". That was too much fun, watching as our house guest got all the references they'd seen to the Poltergeist in programs etc over the years.

That man has gotten better with age... Ahh.. Life is Beautiful is a great film and so is Cinema Paradiso...Intelligent, witty and engaging characters. Plot is well written and just takes you on a roller coaster ride. Highly recommendable. Agree.. I love any Clint Eastwood film. I used to watch his early Dirty Harry films and spag westerns for the shootouts and also he was really hot when he was young. But in the last 20 years, he really has created a name for himself as a filmmaker and great story teller. Well deserved honours. Gran Torino I love and so is Million Dollar Baby. Outstanding.

I think I've seen every movie mentioned here but never made it to The Notebook, and that's just fine with me.
