I was taught piano from about 3 years old - kind of a my dad played piano, and his dad before him kinda thing. Bought my first guitar at about 16 or 17. Up until a couple of years ago, I played in various bands...lotsa work, not much reward, but a helluva lot of fun! These days, I play for fun and to keep my hand in. Occasionally pen a few lyrics and stuff around a bit, searching for that bit of inspiration. Oh, and if you ever see me behind a mic, block your ears and run like hell.

Wanna Jam? Rock has played guitar since he was a youngster, most of our friends play an instrument and social occasions are an excuse to Jam. I got bored with sitting on the sidelines watching, so quietly worked on finding how to use my voice (husky low range with lots of growl, not always easy to find the right songs)) with Rock and then started joining in with our friends and going to accoustic open mics with Rock. From our group of friends, we now have a six piece Rock and Blues band and have started playing at parties and the odd winery, our first pub gig as a band is next weekend! I love performing, still learning to completely let go though, but past the shaky knees stage. I love the energy we produce as a band and the connection we have between us, there is a bond that is made when you create something with someone that is special. That happens whether we are performing or just out the back of someones house jamming, in fact it is those times that are the best. I've always had a thing for muso's, at 16 I fell hard for a bass player, he broke my heart :'( I met Rock 2yrs later :)XXX It was a drummer that started us off on this lifestyle and I have met quite a few guys that are musicians through here, one of my current fb's is a drummer and my mentor in all things kinky and music, is a guitarist that I met through Fetlife. When I meet someone from here, I like to have some sort of connection and common ground other than sex, so it's not surprising that I have met guys that are musicians.

But love the passion of musicians. Both my children play a musical instrument and both can sing, neither hubby nor I have musical talent. My son is 18 and he had a paying gig at a festival recently and I love live music. Rocknminx, I would love to watch you guys perform. Good luck next weekend at your gig. Mary xx

Used to sing with some muso's on a regular basis. Was great fun, released lots of endorphins.

And his self confidence. Growing up to 6'3" and 110kg of muscle has also helped.

Play piano, but not me Most can sing and one of my girls does it for a living but not me But I have fucked a few famous muso , so does that count? I think any art should be appreciated, people that create something uplifting or make you think thought words, music or art have my but just hot always up their arse, like they keep asking me to do.

Nice to see that there are more than a few musicians in the RHP mix. I can relate to almost all of you, and really love a good free form informal jam. I was in a band when younger for a short time as keyboardest doing Doors covers as i loved Ray Manzarek style. Every gig saw me a bit shaky at the start, but after the first song I let go and got lost in the music. Unfortunately we were to young to be reliable. You don't get a second chance if one member does no show for a paid gig, none the less I loved it and personally I did not give a rats about the money. My most prized possession is my acrostic guitar, if the world was coming to an end, without hesitation it would be the only thing I would need to save. Could not imagine life without an instrument of some type. The only thing I have not managed is singing, i can sing like a super star in the privacy of my own bath room, put a mic in front of me, eeeck run for the hills. Oh dear Freya does that mean you will be filling for annulment... ;)

Music came easily to me, like everything else. I took up guitar because of a girl I didn't like at school, she was good at playing and I had to beat her, lol. I am very competitive when I want to be and that is often my drive. I also joined the choir and it turned out I had the highest soprano voice in it. My music teacher persuaded me to perform in the local eisteddfod in which I won my age division even after fucking up the words and invited back to perform at the closing night. I ended up performing at school assemblies and put into a special music class in which the teacher would get other classes in to watch me. I self taught myself the flute and when my kids were learning recorder at school, I could easily work out how to play a tune. After all that, I am not a musicians arsehole. I cannot read sheet music and I have no passion for music whatsoever and I am not comfortable in the spotlight. The only reason I did any of it was to be better than someone else. I am a conquerer not a musician. I beat her and I lost interest. I haven't played the guitar since I was a kid.

and that one guy has to get out his guitar and do his worst Ben Harper impression lol. A lot of my friends play in bands, great guys but the bonfire guys ruin a good night every time. Not everyone can pull it off, if you're good enough to play in a band, leave it for the band. If you need to bring it to a bonfire....AAARRRRGGGGHHHHHH lol

But not usually in front of others....I used to play percussion a little and keyboard, but lost interest when mum and dad no longer allowed me to attend lessons. But musicians are pretty awesome, yet some are pretentious cunts :) - Posted from rhpmobile

And Muso's are the dealers . Back stage passes are handed out more selectively as the years roll on. I started a bit later in life. Utopia wise I would of learnt the piano as a child. The beat goes on....

being a full timer in the music industry, you hear all the stories of debauchery. And there are some ripper stories... Even the roadies or DJ's get some :/

Quoting 'Blindman67'My most prized possession is my acrostic guitar, if the world was coming to an end, without hesitation it would be the only thing I would need to save. Could not imagine life without an instrument of some type. What have you got, Blindman? Mine's a Cole Clark, and I'll never part with it. The day I bought it, I tried a whole lot of different guitars....as soon as I picked it up, I knew it was the one.

I play and teach piano/keyboards and have organised, arranged and conducted school bands, choirs even a signing choir (unbelievably beautiful) and I work in a place where I have amazing musicians all around me- it's one of the reasons I work there. I love music I believe it effects and reflects your soul and life through the way the patterns of soundwaves effect our bodies. I love musicians who are in it for a genuine love of music I don't like people who are in it for purely commercial reasons or the so called perks of that lifestyle. Xxviolet

Always been jealous of those who can. Tried piano, guitar, drums, and saxophone. Sucked in all and didn't have the patience. Would love to try again but I doubt I can pick it up now if I couldn't back then. Could sing like an angel, but now croak like a frog lol. - Posted from rhpmobile

I have a Taylor steal string acoustic, not top of the line, and i am wearing the varnish off rather rapidly, but I love it. Was a big purchase for me at the time, but the crap cheap guitar that I had before that had such a bad action moving up the fret that past the 9th fret it was unplayable. I know that the Taylor will be with me till the end of time. I cant fault it at all and it has the perfect sound for my style.

On here that gets me to watch him wank from hotels rooms all over the bloody place. He never shows his face But I can see he is in different rooms by the back ground and the rock gear thrown around the place. I wonder if I am watching someone famous wrestle a tune out of that hand flute. its pretty impressive, but he says he is married so does not want to get himself in shit, this is all he does I watch , at the same time as I play online poker, I try to see what game comes out first.

Of course, you could have probably fixed that cheapy up with a decent setup... but a taylor is a good choice. Ive got a handful of Aussie made custom electrics. If you follow any of the luthiers, you'll know who the best is :D
