My latest viewing addiction

February 02 2016

Been watching 'Wentworth' an adaption of an old fav. of mine and one of Australia's biggest shows 'Prisoner'. Just loved it and as it is set before 'Prisoner' there were no expectations of how a character would be portrayed and by whom. Wondering if anyone has watched this and what you thought. Also as tv has gone to shit would like to know others addictive viewings as it is always good to hear about something that you may not have seen.

and sometimes when its quiet (rarely) I can watch downloaded tv at work to pass a few hours. I watched " Making a Murderer" which I thought was brilliant and thought provoking, and makes one shake their head at the US legal system This week I finished watching "The Affair" about the ramifications of a affair between 2 people. It goes for two seasons and so worth following, the last 15 seconds of the final episode is a twist you so don't see coming And on my day off with the sun shining, bird singings and blue sky, I stayed in, flopped on the lounge and devoured the 3rd Season of "The Bridge" . Loved it big time

'Orange is the new black', I suppose you could call it the US version of Prisoner. Also loving the US version of 'Shameless', drama and LOL black comedy, stars William H Macy. I also recently enjoyed ABC's modern adaptation of 'Anna Karenina', 'The Beautiful Lie'. Interested to see what others recommend.

Prisoner was a favourite of mine. A classic. It was the reason I chose the 2 nights a week, that I had to stay home, that I did. . I watched the beginning of the first episode of Wentworth but found it too similar that the characters I remembered clashed with the new ones. I've seen glimpses since but have currently been caught up with prisoner where the freak actually gets to be the Governor, lol. . Peachy ;-)

We've begun watching a new series called, "Mr Robot". A lot of the computer stuff flies right over my head but there's a lot of tension in the interaction between characters. Not sexual so much. The main character appeals to me though. Cheers, Peachy

Does anyone remember Cold Feet, the British TV series? I don't have a TV by choice but will occasionally watch something on my laptop. I found the entire series on DVD in an op shop. Awesome series, the actors and characters they played were perfect, all seemed to fit into the roles. I think this series followed 'Playing the Field' which from memory was about a women's soccer team. That was also full on. It didn't run for long I don't think but was brilliant. Loved both and really enjoyed watching Cold Feet again 😃

Looks like I have a few new things to suss out and great to be reminded of some of the older shows. Forgot about this one, I watched the pilot last year after someone posted it on a similar topic and the series just began. 'Lucifer'. Well worth checking out the trailer.

We have just watched all 7 seasons of The West Wing (took a couple of months!) and now it's The Newsroom again (love Aaron Sorkin!). After that we will be moving on to Mad Men.

I think we're up to the fourth episode in our mini marathon, lol. .It's based on different characters on a different timeline and follows the beginning of the spread of the infection. So far we're following the story in a small neighbourhood setting. All the more intense that the relationships are so close to start with. Peachy
