New type of pick up lines

March 24 2016

Old fashioned pick up lines such as "is that a gun in your pocket? Or are you just happy to see me?" Seem to be a lost cause... I've always been into writing... So I've come up with a few new ones in the hope that maybe they will fare some better luck Here's an example, let me know what you think In an open field, we are face to face, lost in each other's eyes for the moment. Taking in each other's beauty from the glow of the soft moon light. I raise my left hand to caress your cheek and hold your neck while I lean in for a romantic first kiss. Our lips touch, your hands come to my back embarrassing me and holding me close, grasping to the moment, our touch melting the wall of nervousness you have for meeting a total stranger. I think to myself, just maybe, for a moment, I can make her feel free. - Posted from rhpmobile

Most women (at least the ones I speak to) hate this sort of thing. It's presumptive, derivative and not especially creative. I'd prefer the cheesy pick up line to be honest, or how about an honest, polite and respectful genuine introduction? Lovebitten xox - Posted from rhpmobile

Sorry.....but that reads like more of a riddle than a pick up line to me.Maybe I am just a bit thick today :)

a pickup line is fast, those feel like I'd need to be at an open-mic, with cravat and a hipster beard. Are they meant to be things you send out in messages? I think they'd possibly work if you had a guitar, dreamy eyes, and sat in the cafe near the uni Arts dept... and know that anyone biting on it is probably craving attention in a way that will be fun for a while until they're boiling bunnies :p TRy them out and report back to the forum, inquring minds wnat to know.

Too long to say that sort of thing as a "pick up" line. Try that in a bar and it would be closing time before you'd finish! The written version is lovely and reflects a deeper, romantic side of you which is, of course, the intent. "Pick up" lines however, are verbal and most often straight to the point. Eg: "Hi, my name is Obi1. You're not an alien by any chance, are you?" 😐

or pick up paragraphs? I have always thought of pick up lines to be just that.A short sentence.... a zinger of words... quick & cheesy....short & snappy. OP, to me, the example you have used, is more like a Greeting Card, something for Valentines Day.

A good looking chap,I liked your profile, short and sweet. Your pickup paragraph on the other hand was not ...but hey, keep on honing those writing skills,it takes time to sort the merde from the gems. XxFreya

Never have. I leave it up to body language then when i feel the time's right , walk over say hi and see where it goes. I really wouldn't feel comfortable saying something corny.. Just not my style. Generally' its my eyes and smile that usually do the talking anyway.

Your pick up line sounds like some thing Romeo would say to Juliette . Very nice indeed and it is sad most 2oth century people dont like it. - Posted from rhpmobile

Not a fan. Prefer straight talking. No need for a pick up line, just walk up and say hello and ask how my night is going or something! Miss Little xx

Yes, its a wee bit long, but very thought provoking. You seem as if you would be a dab hand at erotic writing?A smile across the room works wonders for me Its a pity that the good old fashioned chat up line seems to be a thing of the past.

A good cheesy pick up line is fine by me as long as the guy isn't giving the creep vibe. A sexy smile and and a funny line... Who wouldn't laugh at that. I kind of like it. :) - Posted from rhpmobile

What about, "If I said you had a good body would you hold it against me?" Though I think if you use some of these, they are so bad its a good joke to break the ice.

Quoting 'Summer_solstice' Not even a "Good evening"? You sound like most messages I get. Correction.... most messages you receive in here will say "hey" But clearly the point I was making was that lines, are just that... a delivered line... a template... a fail.

No it's not a fail because both parties are aware it's a line said in fun. I find a man who can make a fun of himself very attractive when they also exude confidence. Flirting and the game we all play is a bit of fun and that is how I take it. I admit, I have been known to deliver a pick up line myself on occasion. If the guy doesn't laugh I know we probably aren't suited in the sack.

Wench to Cap'n No Beard:"Why Cap'n No Beard! Is that a blunderbuss in your pocket, or are you just pleased to see me?" Cap'n No Beard to Wench:"Nar, it's just a blunderbuss."

I've never used a pick up line in my life... (in person that is)... I've gone the "Hello" etc. Maybe that's why I've only managed dates from online ;) And obviously from some of the other replies to the OP, I was right in asking myself what the HELL I was thinking putting poetry on ANY of my online profiles :)

That is a lovely paragraph to be sent as a message - I imagine so - definitely got me interested! Using your cow boyish and worldly charm "howdy ma'am" might suffice !! Cheers Rach 🍒 - Posted from rhpmobile
