Numbing sensation

November 22 2013

sex

Ok so recently during a sexual encounter I experienced the weirdest sensation, my lips, face and hands started to go numb and had a tingling sensation I had never experienced before. It has now happened to me three times all doing different things and with different partners. Just wondering if anyone else has experienced this and what it's all about. - Posted from rhpmobile

Tingles suggests its related to your nervous system. if only observed during sexual arousal it would suggest a connection to pelvic nervous - Posted from rhpmobile

.... not pelvic.... but possibly cervical vertebrae at the top of your neck. Ever seen a chiropractor? Might be a good start, to see if any nerves are impinged. - Posted from rhpmobile

Im not kiding here. You need to see a doctor. What you have described could be a stroke. I know a girl who had a stroke during sex.

This actually happens to me a lot. I'm pretty sure it's from hyperventilating (not enough oxygen getting to the brain). My IQ is still the same after many years of this so I don't think it's dangerous. I have found my fingers and hands go numb in a certain position and I can't move them for a while. Most of my partners find it hysterical and take it as a compliment. It's usually the extremities that are affected. If you're really worried do see a doctor.

You been listening to Dr Karl. Was an interesting topic on the central nervous system. There is a nerve which runs from your vagina up too you throat which....if you develop hic cups an orgasm is a sure cure. and yes you need too see the quack.

Sex can speed up your breathing (hopefully!), resulting in increased oxygen to your hands and feet. This increased oxygen can cause numbness of your fingers and toes. Tingling occurs when your breathing becomes normal again in this case. Tingling without numbness first could be a sign you're hyperventilating. Sounds like you're having fun to me! ;-)

Are you sure that you are not hyperventilating during your lovemaking? Or breathing heavily? As this causes the lips, nose, face, fingers and other extremities to go numb. To test , breathe in and out deeply for a minute or two. If the tingling and numbness starts and it feels the same, then that's the cause. Breathing slowly into a paper bag a few times will quickly restore your extremities to normal ;) - Posted from rhpmobile

That goes for your face too. Has something changed for you airway-wise? Did you give up smoking, start exercising more, are you recovering from a cold, etc?

What u have said tells me it may only be a slight decrease in oxygen levels ??? If its around ur face (head) I wld seriously suggest seeing a doctor sooner then later?? O and yes I work in health but not a doctor

I honestly dont think it was a stoke, as i said i have had it happen 3 times now i and it only takes a few minutes to go away after we have finished. It has happened in different positions too, the first time i thought it was because i had my head hanging over the bed which could have some how effected blood flow to my face but the other two times weren't. No changes in anything to do with my health, i have never smoked and i'm a crossfit athlete so can't put it down to that. I will take notice of my breathing next time, maybe i do start to hyperventilate. Im not concerned at all but will ask the doc next time, just thought someone else might have the same symptoms.

Hi Miss Tease I also know a friend who had a stroke during sex, Im not saying it is that, but young healthy and don't smoke doesn't mean it cant happen to you. A check up is a good thing to have and puts your mind at ease. In the mean time have an awesome day and keep having fun Olhenry

Definitely not a stroke. A quick google search reveals that this is experienced by a lot of women, and some men as well. And as a couple people have mentioned it's related to hyperventilation, which results in lowered carbon dioxide levels in the blood, which in turn produces other physiological changes producing the symptoms such as numbness and tingling. Some people also experience cramping and siezing up of the muscles.

Quoting 'Mischeviouslad' Quoting 'madotara69' pulling the centre out of a slice of bread and hang it on your left ear. Mado PMSL.... Im sure that if you told some guys that doing that made their dick larger.... theyd try it!!!! That requires a second slice of bread, neatly as to the standards to the closest state of mindset to the enthusiasm for anticipated acceptable personal motivation or plainly telling ones self that there is some signs seen very hopeful of growth then further placing the folded bread into mouth and firmly biting into it. It is not so much the convincing method, (usually very positive and extremely cheerful paralleled for personality and pitch) expressed, more to the convinced who requires an impulsive urge to try and kiss their new raging monster. (Which is absolutely a natural type of reaction and determination at it's peek). Though the first kiss is often a simple miscalculated additional error, favouring the correction with a small deduction and the slightly less reassurance passed as an honest mistake. (Eased with the affection prompted to calling the tiger a bigger than life name) However the determination still behaves as positive and develops the instinctive defence preparations for chance to debate and to safeguard the interests of the new approach, to licking the monster (again a perfectly usual alternative) and well delivered arguments suggesting that the attempt is still within the kiss stage. So the bread in mouth now becomes a safeguard to prevent the urge, as if not for the feature for user safety, the tongue becomes quite damaged due to the effects of steadily increasing levels of adrenalin. Further to the medical implications ranging to monitorable complications, pending the most often need for an emergency call, to the first ambulance available to attend. Ask any ambulance driver if they have some experience to the statistics of attending to the somewhat popular method. The answers will slightly differ to the numbers of stitches to reattach the torn muscles of tongue and often results to the tongue permanently longer than than the growing monsters statistical range of measuring preferences and noted data. The visual appearance clearly sees the tongue flapping loosely as it bounces from the impact of hitting the chin of the obvious Blahzey and lesser disciplined to mental strengths, disillusioned with completely misreading the information with the..... Bread Enhancement Package...... and listen only to the self promoting a closer confidence boosting cassette that is offered as an interpretation to the inner self miracle to becoming closer to ones self for the aid to belief and the powers it can endorse. The sensible users manage to control the positive support to themselves as inflated and concentrate to keep "The" slice of bread in place ( hence taking heed to user safety warnings) I did contemplate this variation to the single slice on the ear, post This one was more to the feelings of compelled. You sure know when the time comes to the factual and medical marvels that is more than just simple beliefs, DG To have this presented with so many accuracies and inspirational pioneers to medical promises, this had to be written with all content. Not my idea, believe me.

Your fingers and hands going numb sound exactly like carpel tunnel syndrome, pinched nerve, surgery corrects this. Be aware of your health.
