In a word......Freedom. Freedom of all kinds. Freedom of speech, association, expression, action and most importantly, freedom of thought. I kind of like the quotation from Evelyn Hall, "I disapprove of what you say, but I will defend to the death your right to say it." Or everyday freedoms are so often infringed by others and by government but everyone's views, beliefs and they themselves have worth and it is important we fight where necessary to preserve what allows us to be ourselves.

    1) animals - I love animals and there's not much that gets me angrier and more worked up than their mistreatment and neglect. From the age of about 12 my dream job was a vet, unfortunately after only a short time studying it at uni I knew it wasn't actually the job for me; I can't keep my emotions in check and remain objective around animals like I can around people. So I have to try and help them in other ways. And if you want to turn me into a blubbering idiot, just show me a baby sloth video on youtube, I'm not kidding my arms start flailing around and everything, it's ridiculous. 2) mental health issues - something else I'm very passionate about, is removing the continuing stigma and stereotypes around mental illness, that I see everyday, even on these forums (our media has a lot to answer for in this regard). Once I finish my degree I'm hoping to work in mental health, and make some sort of positive contribution in this area, whether at an individual or community / population level.

Animals ! A human will always act out of motivation, be it greed, lust, always for personal gain or gratification, an animal however always on instinct, they do what they do and don't think twice. They give unconditional love and appreciate ny attention you give! I had to sadly bury one of my boys last week, Trevor my border collie had a stroke , had him for 12 yrs and all I could think of whilst doing so was that there were at least a half dozen humans I could have been digging the hole for that wouldn't have upset as much!

I find them, or they find me, and I get such a rush from making someone who's down on their luck smile. Wether it be just a passing comment, or inviting them to be part of my life - I just love knowing that whatever they are going through, they will look back and remember that there are good people in the world, and if that gives them hope, then I'm doing my job right :-) Mrs B- Posted from rhpmobile

I love to see people smile...I diliske seeing people sad, so if I can at least brighten their day by being a goof, or perhaps, lending a shoulder to lean on, I'll do it. Like Luckdragon and Mutefrog, I have a very strong passion for animals, especially dogs...even if they do still the bed :)Most of all, I'm finding that I am becoming more passionate about my friends and family...Freya, I know you said besides family, but for me, it's taken at least 27 years and the possibility of losing my family, to make me realise what I have. I now cherish them beyond belief, and am finding that I consider many of my close friends to be family because of the respect and admiration that I have for them.

I have loved all animals ever since I can remember. I drove my mother to distraction bringing home stray anything. Mostly they were escapee dogs with tags and we would return them, much to my dismay. I did rescue 2 dogs by around age 8 with sheer childhood stubbornness most probably. We all loved Shandy and Caesar for many years and they returned it ten fold. Iv never really stopped picking up stray anythings, so with MrKs encouragement its lead me to turning my passion into action. I volunteer for dog and cat rescue and even though iv made myself quite aware it opened my eyes to just how much suffering exists. We have a little menagerie of three dogs and six cats and kittens, this week anyway as numbers change. Some our own delightful furbabies some our own just as delightful if not a little damaged foster furbabies. They are all loved and pampered and when a foster is adopted the tears are happy ones. We won't forget them but I wish for them to forget us and live long, happy lives with their forever families. What a privilege to be part of a group of people who with every varied role we play the result is a life saved. They give so much more than they take. Bless them all.. So sorry mutefrog69 for the loss of your Trevor. A child once said he understood why dogs didn't live as long as humans as they already knew how to love unconditionally, humans take a lot longer to learn.

to say what I am passionate about.I have always had a passion for social justice...even at the age of 14 I was having stand up arguments with my oh so bigoted Dad, about the White Australia policy. Now my biggest passion is kids and literacy.I wish everyone could understand that having a learning disability is exactly the same as having a broken leg.You can hobble along but it takes you so much longer to get there, and it s not about being lazy, but it can effect your self esteem to the point where people, including teachers think that you are indeed lazy....grrr. I love hearing fellow posters storiesKinks your ,passion for animals is inspiring, same for Mutefrog,Luckdragon and Arn....a passion for travel is something I share Foxy ,but these days for me it's more about visiting friends and travelling with, and to friends in Australia.....Mrs Bom ,Arn,Foxy, and Mado,it is amazing how little can mean so much, sometimes just a smile can make a difference in someones day. And freedom, freedom to think and do....yes....without freedom we have nothing justforfun you are so right. Mado,I have missed you...Paintme have you seen the magnificent Tiepolo in Melbourne ? xHugs R ps I have nooo idea how this post ended up here, but it's kinda cosy.

I have this dream of having a big fabulous gothic house out in the country somewhere and people would come for fabulous debaucherous parties. I would have historical themes as well as kinky themes, and everyone would dress up from a different era and we would sit down to banquets Heston style served to us by gorgeous young naked men and women. And of course the social activities would all involve sex. Kinky sex, vanillia sex, hang from the chandeliers kind of sex.And my speciality would be arranging for people's secret desires to come true.I could be the little midget out the front in my crotchless white catsuit screaming out "The plane, the plane!". Fantasy Island Meeka style. (really showing my age here! LOL)If I ever win the lottery that is what I am going to do.

Nature is my passion, getting outdoors into the wilderness is restoring and re-energizing for me. Blowing off the cobwebs of suburban life and absorbing nature's subtle energies is like a balm to the soul. Washing away the built up negativities in a frigid stream or ocean or lying back under a star studded obsidian canopy light my inner fire. Music substitutes for nature when I'm home. Sinking myself into melodic creativity has the same soothing effects. And can excite me when things seem to just fall into place and I end up somewhere far from where I started.- Posted from rhpmobile

Lots of other things. Showing others how to enjoy the simpler things in life, that a glass is always half full never half empty. I would love to travel but don't have a passport, something I need to do, I have seen quite a bit of the beautiful red and dusty remote places in Oz. I love to write, it is a medium where I believe I can freely express and be true to myself, I wish I could paint as passionately as I think and envision the world around me. I have my lows definately but prefer to be intense in those moments over a brief period than sink into despair and not enjoy what's around me. I love trains, sorry can't help it; rail is what I did best. Welllll maybe in the top 5 (laughs gently). My family, though I'm not a perfect wife or mother. Food, I love to cook for others and experiment with desserts, mainly cakes. Am a staunch supporter of the Salvos and teaching others the joy of reading and books. I'm a people pleaser, it's not always a good thing and I have been hurt for my efforts. I strive for results in my professional life and am service oriented. But I guess I am mostly a lover.....if nothing else. I live for the rush, the feel and the pleasure of it. And will accept the pain also.

People often say I'd make an awesome Madame. Similar real estate, but my girls and boys would all be educated, well spoken, multi-lingual where possible and musical/talented. Would run similar to Dolly's "Chicken Ranch" but with a burlesque lounge type atmosphere. There would be decadent dinners, shows, proper strip tease and the opportunity to indulge in a moment of pleasure if you could afford it. High end clientelle only, sorry peeps no riff raff in my establishment. No 3 strikes either, fuck up and you're out. (Sigh) Just need a bank who'd take the Business Plan, Marketing Strategy and Investment Offer Documents seriously!!
