I remember when I was a kid living with dad, before he passed away, he went out with a Doctor. She was into this lifestyle and they took me to this commune where people played/listened to music, walked around naked or clothed, it really was an open friendly place. At night everyone was fed, danced and generally looked really happy. I think the ego's had to be controlled as they would have looked out of place. Good topic OP, bought back some nice memories.

the fact that your topic slipped under the radar as officially an unofficial event...Neither planned nor organised.... *snigger*A good host always has every detail covered (including his own arse.)

But don't read too much into the lack of entries on your thread. It's simple.... There is a glitch in the system, or, people have their head up their own arse!

A leetul from column AAND...A leetul from column B.That said, I wonder how I/we can make this a reality?I would really like to do this, and I think, with the right group of people, it could be a fun and a memorable (regular) experience.Any ideas............dbs.............anyone?..........please, pretty, pretty please.Or, if not, what am I doing wrong, or not doing. What would possibly make this work and be beneficial to everyone concerned?A little feedback, maybe~~f~~*If at first you don't succeed.......refine, rethink, or maybe re-post*

Put yourself in your audience’s shoes… this isn’t the site that it used to be so many years ago ~ff~, where the Perth Forum/Events were more popular than the national goings on I know that when I read the forums, I rarely check out local content, it’s straight to the main page of forum topics that usually gets my immediate attention So if you want traction with getting people to participate in this event, I would start a positive, light and bright, full of sunshine and rainbows type of post in the general forums section (where most of your WA audience is hanging out) and ever so subtly and with your well renowned grace and charm, market this local event you have created within the post… hell, you might even have a few out of Towner’s over here on holidays, who may want to come along. JMO btw - Good luck and hope the shindig goes well for you

Quoting 'duende73' Put yourself in your audience’s shoes… this isn’t the site that it used to be so many years ago ~ff~, where the Perth Forum/Events were more popular than the national goings on I know that when I read the forums, I rarely check out local content, it’s straight to the main page of forum topics that usually gets my immediate attention I have to agree with duende. The first thing that comes up is the general posts. I did try looking at the Perth category but most of it was old. So I don't bother checking anymore. Good to that people still post in the Perth category. I might check it once a week or something.I hope you have a lot of people joining you. All the best.

at all going to critique your idea or tell you how to do it, word it or make it happen any better than what you are doing right now. There is always an element of that on here any time someone shoots from the hip or the heart. Call it a syndrome. My only advice if I had any would be, "you can't please everyone so don't expect to?" A party is pretty simple really and people will either be a yes or a no. That's all that matters as the rest will fall into place as you go.

would be the people open and receptive interested enough and maybe even motivated enough to actually attend such a meeting. The naysayers can pretty much say "nay" and then settle back into the couch, remote very close to hand, with a smug and assured look firmly etched onto their faces, and do their own particular thang.........each to their own fits the bill, methinksI'm sure this may want promoting or marketing in a different fashion or location.........Actually, I'm not really sure about anything, other than what I - and others too - would like to gain from this experience. As mentioned earlier, I have NO wish to impose my music tastes on anyone..........bring your OWN playlist, share and enlighten others to (maybe) a different style, new artist and new tracks.........whatever suits........I just enjoy MUSIC however it presents itself. There has been some response, so I'm counting that as a positive.....it's hardly mainstream...and thankfully so....so is to be expected.Doesn't every journey start with a....first........bungling.........floundering........attempt.......then, a trip, a toe stub, a little swearing.....and then a step. Please forgive me, but this is mine~~f~~For the people that have responded........thanks for your response........I will be in touch

The Wave Rock Weekender.I was chatting to the promoter at the batr a few years ago and he said. "This is the ideal place for a little festival. 100km past the last police station and 200km to far for dick heads to drive"..Guaranteed you'll not know many of the bands playing.. But equally guaranteed 6-7 of them will really impress you. All the other stuff you mention is there in spades. Even a 24 hour art house cinema in the hall across from the camping ground. It sells out with ZERO advertising these days so you only hear about it though word of mouth..

Yes, the Wave Rock Weekender sounds great..........exactly the sort of thing that appeals to meMaybe, when they announce their next event, I'll post up and see if anyone wants to make up small like-minded group.....*hopefully noted in the mental sieve*I will still pursue a more casual meeting too........Maybe it IS just a "regular" and nothing particularly special Bush Doof......I'm not really into terms........I'd rather think of it as more of a Bush: Warble, Twang, Bop, Hop, Rap, Slide, Moog, Beat, Chilllout......and many other addendum's that I really can't be bothered to formulate in my 6.45am, nearly awake-still asleep and mildly befuddled head.Slowly-slowly catchee simian~~f~~Thanks to everyone that has contributed something/anythingTah

I'm sorry, I had to say this:Although its a good thing you ask for ideas and such, but if you dont know how to host a Party and ACTUALLY organise it, then why bother wasting time about it? I cannot help but think you are just "fishing" it... Alot of people thought about hosting parties, and most actually got it organised, wether a lot of people turned up or not, is irrelevant. Its all about the "gimmick" or the nature of the party. You have been to one of my many famous parties, im sure you can work it out how SIMPLE it was. As for Waverock Weekender, you can try, but I personally believe that wont work. For obvious reasons. You and patrons would most likely be ended up in jail, or face huge fines. Unless.. the "event" is not placed upon and/or near the landmark feature. Finally and if not least, USE COMMON SENSE.

I just remembered something. Hosting a "Bush Doof" party brings potential danger and threat to patron's being. Unless Police are readily available extremely nearby, you can forget about attempting to host that party.Think about it. In the bushNearest public places is about 20 kms away or so,Nearest Police is about 50kms away or so,Dark bush nearby... hmm.. potential rape/murder aplenty...

Maybe the only real threat at the party will be the fun police?
